  1. Probably because we got used to seeing Robert Foster 5 targets 0 receptions 0 years each game Any production is better before that it was Zay Jones 5 targets 2 receptions 10 yards each game
  2. I'd try and sign Kareem Hunt Whatever they decide its imperative they add a 2nd nfl starter quality RB
  3. I think asking them to get stronger and more physical might be a bit much Beasley's game is short area quickness and he's not a big guy. Brown is downfield speed and again not only not a big guy but small frame. John Brown assumed a role he's not a physical match for and he did as best of a job as he could. Better we allow/put them in a better position to succeed which means bigger more prototypical wrs on the outside. I'm certain Brandon Beane knows this, we just have to hope he hits again in FA/draft to address it. They had good success with those two so maybe he can upgrade yet again.
  4. My 2020 wish list : Better personnel on offense Defense playing more aggressive New punter Coach McDermott showing some growth in both in game decision making and personnel choices Continued progress from Josh Allen 10+ wins and a playoff win
  5. John Brown and Cole Beasley had career years in 2019. I don't expect more out of them. To be fair both lived up to what I though they could bring 110% . I didn't believe John Brown could stay healthy for 16 games and certainly not with the volume he handled. Neither of those guys is much more than a competent NFL wr . Bills need a difference maker A player that can overcome tight coverage/win 50/50 throws/shuck press immediately make some plays most player cannot. Asking Josh Allen to turn those guys into Jerry Rice and Steve Largent seems like a ridiculous proposition. I'm pretty certain Brandon Beane knows it.
  6. LOL just paraphrasing McDermott's response. I think most of us are of the same opinion that personnel decision making needs work Hopefully roster upgrades will make a lot of these head scratchers go away
  7. I think the Baylor hire is following the trend of hiring young coaches and he did rebuild both Temple and Baylor quickly from dumpster fires into very good college programs. They are hoping for a Sean McVay. Leslie Frazier did not fare well as a head coach. Eric Bienemy will get a job. If not this cycle then soon.
  8. Evidently he did not show enough in practices to earn the right to play till week 17 I am paraphrasing McDermott when asked about Duke. Guess we'll have to accept it,
  9. Yeah they submit their interviewees. I think Eric Bienemy might get a shot He's got the experience and working under Andy Reid might be appealing as fresh hire from the offense side of football . Leftwich just got into coaching,, he was intern just a few years ago. Marvin Lewis? I dont follow college enough to comment on college coaches who might be serious candidates. To say that many owners/GM's would not consider a good candidate of color seems foolish GM's job is on the line and the owner wants to make money You hire the best person for the job. Winning is everything, however I still maintain nepotism might over rule everything else
  10. I can't imagine what Eric Bienemy (for the sake of an example) must be thinking when he's called in as a formality I'd be a little pissed off frankly. I think the process of hiring is more about nepotism than racism. Look at Jerry Jones, his typical staff was all Cowboys alums. Look at the Bills Is Beane here without McDermott's recommendation? Gaines? At that level a lot of it still who you know much as it is in upper echelon corporate America. As we see more GM's & coaches of color you will slowly see a more diverse fraternity of coaches. You're seeing more younger assistants of different backgrounds coming up . Is there someone of color who is being overlooked right now? Who is Stephen A Smith saying is being overlooked? Or is he just baiting and trolling as usual.
  11. Allen the Game manager put up 370 yards of offense on his own with the worst skill position group in the playoffs . Game manager would be Tannehill who somehow won with 70 yards passing and two ints. We should have run Singeltary more and were still one play away from winning.
  12. Think most know he's better suited as a OC
  13. That's how I read it. Curious how quickly they tend Shaq an offer.
  14. I agree he needed more touches especially in OT where the clock was no factor. They really managed Singletary's usage this season McDermott mentions something in his presser about needing to spell rb's I don't think the Bills are looking for a bell cow feature back situation. I don't get the feeling that the Bills are a team that is overly concerned with their offensive personnel and what the play call is We've seen some bizarre personnel choices in play selections all year. Or Daboll doesn't adjust his playcall to go with who he has on the field especially in no huddle. I cant come up with any other explanation for Gore, DiMarco lined up as WR's as often as we saw Or running Gore on sweeps etc
  15. Much as I malign Daboll and question some of the playcalling is there a team left in the playoffs that has a weaker skill group around their qb? Maybe the Seahawks with their current rb situation. Better personnel in 2020 should do wonders That is not excusing throwing almost 50 times so yeah I have my doubts as well
  16. I think they drafted all those guys thinking they would develop into a WR1 They are going to add talent to WR/RB. I think they see Allen needs help to avoid falling into hero mode. Much as I am enamored of AJ Green its dwelling on the player he was several years ago. If they bring in a FA I'd prefer Breshad Perriman on a modest deal and double down with WR early in the draft.
  17. I think getting him better play makers for 2020 will make the whole situation better. I'm sure he did start stressing and trying to do it all in that second half. Then you have some negative plays and things start to snowball in his mind. With more experience he'll calm down some more and once you surround him with better talent I think we'll see more stable Josh Allen. Guy wants to win and yeah he tried some over the top stuff (hurdled another defender). I like Singeltary but clearly we can use another young back with upper echelon athletic talent. We dont have a big physical pounder at rb not do we have a break away threat. Get a physical WR who will allow Beasley to me the 3rd down slot guy and Brown to me more of the take the top of wr. Listening to the end of the year presser I think they know they need more complementary football around Josh Allen.
  18. Is half the league going to be run by disciples of Belichick now? Getting crazy
  19. No problem will be sure not start another thread
  20. Not trolling here guys. Long off season, tired of discussing Josh and Daboll. How were handling roster structure/money/ This is what I was getting at. Or let me rephrase the question. If we didnt have Tre would we bring in a top dollar corner for this particular defensive scheme?
  21. Chris Simms had some kind words on Allen in his post wildcard weekend segment. Mentions specifically the lack of talent around Josh. Called Brown and Beasley "good" players not difference makers Mentions how easy it is to knock a small wr off their route. Thinks Singeltary would be better served as James White type change of pace back Talked about Daboll running out of ammo once he used up the scripted plays. Talked a lot about the pre draft narrative and how people have taken it too far.
  22. Is any cornerback playing in a primarily zone scheme worth paying top money? I would not be shocked to see a CB drafted early by Buffalo How do they handle it this time after letting Gilmore walk? I know he's under contract for 2020 just curious what you guys think is the long term plan
  23. Tampa Bay has 19 UFA's to sign including Shaq barrett $$$$$$$
  24. Looking at the FA WR for 2020 I think Breshad Perriman might fit the bill and not break the bank Looks like he might be poised to produce like a 1st round pick after bouncing around a bit
  25. AJ Green 1sr round wr Brown Beasley Duke That's a nfl wr room
