But in the Bills case they also got lucky that they had the one GM in the league who picked the right Josh. Was it luck or skill, idk. I think very few GMs in the league would have made that same call. In general, I have to agree with the poster who said if teams just had a fan vote those teams would probably do better than the teams that employ scouting departments. It certainly wouldn’t do any worse.

I don’t even think they should get that choice. Want to play in the league? Sign with the team that drafted you or get them to trade you. Otherwise, have fun playing overseas.

I’d like this as an Eagles fan. I feel it’s very likely that 2023rd first ends up being much higher than either of the two picks they gave up. A Sean Payton-less team led by Jameis Winston? I don’t like those odds.

The Browns clearly told Watson they would give him whatever he wanted if he went there on a trade. It worked if their goal was just to get him there. Terrible thing for the rest of the contracts in the league though.
