I start getting agitated when I see Lee Smith on the field now. Seems to have taken so many stupid penalties the past few weeks, and brings absolutely zero threat in the passing game. Just cut him already. I thought for sure he would be cut once Kroft was active. In what world does a modern NFL team need 4 TE’s. What kind of odds did you lay the poor man on that bet ?

I doubt he even steps up then. Guy is utterly useless filler. Hopefully they can find an improvement in the offseason. Shouldn't be too difficult. At least he’s staying healthy this season? That is a feather in his cap I suppose. When the starter is pretty useless and invisible, such as in this situation, it might not be so inaccurate.

Easiest schedule of any team I ever remember. Could hurt come playoff time if they draw a tough round one matchup. But honestly zero excuse not to make the playoffs this year. Even an average team talent wise should be able to squeak in this year.

Not sure if this is sarcasm trying to knock Metcalf? But as a rookie he is on pace for over 800 yards and 8 TD’s. I would call that an extremely successful rookie campaign.

Why is everyone so sure he won’t make it down the waiver wire? I would actually be surprised if ANY team claimed him. Has shown inability to stay on the field, wasn’t super productive in New England playing with the best QB in history and obviously did something to piss of the Pats. If Belichick thought he was rehabilitated and could play he would have waited the extra week and not IR’ed/released him. There’s a reason he isn’t a Patriot anymore and it isn’t because he’s healthy, productive, and stayed out of trouble.

Well, is this really an ultimatum? He’s going to be a free agent without a long term deal. Thus, he would be free to leave. I just don’t really understand his threat here.
