I’m intrigued by this scoring because it seems absolutely nuts. Could you elaborate a bit more? Are kickers the most important part of the league? And are defenses then basically useless? I’m not totally against defenses being useless because of the randomness of it, but then I’d think kickers would also be.

I always found it odd that contracts weren’t 100% guaranteed in the NFL. Other than a punishing buyout, the NHL has fully guaranteed deals.

I agree with this. I thought the NFL was going towards eliminating the kickoff. But the new rules actually make it more exciting IMO. I saw more illegal kickoff penalties yesterday than I did the entirety of last season.

The 10 second run off rule for an officials review is idiotic. The teams don’t ask you to review within 2 minutes, that’s entirely your choice.
