  1. When Tomlin took over in Pittsburgh he didn't really change a thing, and he wasn't an incumbent coach, he was brand new, but he came in and learned Steeler football instead of Tomlin football. That organization I am fairly convinced could win 8-10 games every year with a high school coach running the show. It's an organizational culture they have towards winning. They just win. I don't think Pete Caroll detonated the Seahawks when he took over either, he tweaked, and added, but didn't have some fire sale and gut the roster. Miami has gutted their roster almost as many times as we have. There is definitely a pattern for bad teams being blown up and staying bad and teams that get in good coaching staffs, retain most of their talent, and getting better.
  2. It's the blowout effect. You can't get beaten by a 1-5 team that badly and expect the news outlets to be all "just give the man time". Not after the 7th time in what, 23 games.
  3. I agree with a lot of this. It wasn't necessary to completely detonate the entire roster. But every new regime does it. the Giants are doing it right now. So is Oakland. McVay didn't, and neither did Pederson when they took over....When Andy Reid took over the Chiefs, he basically traded for Alex Smith, and went from there. He didn't detonate anything either. The best seem to come in and take what's there and make it better. The teams that don't, they blow it up, F*** it up, and get fired in 36-42 months.
  4. So you're telling me McDermott and Beane made the right decision to move on from him even though he was a LB from Alabama and we needed LBs last year? Inconceivable.
  5. No doubt, and it doesn't look better this Monday night, or for the rest of the season for that matter. I want Allen to get his mental reps in and then get back out there and get physical reps too. But I do question the quality of the reps with a sketchy Oline and wrs who can get separation. What is he seeing when he drops back? A pass rush in his face and no open wrs. So he bails out of the pocket and runs. That's not going to help him develop as a passer at all.
  6. I can't go back and cherry pick examples of him taking on double teams, don't have the time, there were 10 other guys out there as well. But I don't want to overly defend him either to be honest. I think that 50 million could have been spent on two competent olinemen instead and we would be better off as a team than with one nose tackle.
  7. If you look though, Star was lined up on the center's right side already, all he had to do was get Star moving right and keep him from getting the RB in the backfield, the LB did not do anything to redirect, he got completely washed out by the guard at the 2nd level. the whole defense was flowing exactly the way the colts wanted them to for the play to work, the only player who went against the grain was Phillips and he needed to keep flowing to his left to close the hole up and redirect the RB. Even if he did, there was nobody home the LBs had already been pushed out of the play
  8. That's what I saw too, Star taking double teams, but a FB or guard getting to our LBs and walling one of them off, while the other one missed his gap assignment. Neither Edmunds or Milano are good at shedding blocks.
  9. Beane is twisting his nipples at the thought of more dead cap space....
  10. One thing I very much enjoy. Game day mornings. I love getting up, reading the paper and having breakfast, then planning gameday meals, wings or an antipasti platter, bloody marys, some days we'll take the TV out and put it by the pool and float around listening to the Bills get destroyed. I like 1pm kickoffs better than anything, primetime sucks, i don't like going to bed pissed off, and I don't like 4pm kickoffs, I like to get the losing out of the way and enjoy the rest of my Sunday.
  11. yup. it's madness down there. I don't miss it at all. The closest you can come to normal down there is loxahatchee. lots are around 300k for 1 acre and a house around 1500-1800 ft2. It's about 16 miles west of Riviera beach.
  12. Boca is insane, i've lived there. Daughter lives there now. A rat hole apartment is 1400 a month. 2 bedrooms
  13. WPB is there to remind us pooros just how good rich people have it.
  14. If we're going to draft top 5, I want Bosa. We've seen what his brother does with Ingram in LA. Then I want WRs/OL. We have all those picks in this draft, no need to use them all, trade picks and move up into the 2nd and 3rd round.
  15. well i'm not buying that house in the Keys or the one in Wyoming. But I am buying some wings tonight because it's wing wednesday
  16. Nobody was cooler than the ultimate warrior. Favorite tag team had to be the Road Warriors. either that or the bushwackers. those guys were a trip.
  17. She definitely drives a car with "come thrive with me" on the back windshield.
  18. I've been telling my son "you can always add weight on em, but once it's there it's not coming off".
  19. North Texas cattle call......nnnnNNNNNoooooOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
  20. 70 of us are in the office pool now. so that'll go well if we do win.... All I want is the house I found in the Keys, my boat, and another house in Wyoming. I want to fish in the summer, and hunt elk and deer in the winter. That is literally all I want to do with my life.
