Do you think Beane might have asked Kromer’s opinion before he signed Saffold, considering he was his coach at the Rams? I wonder if Kromer was saying not to do it .. but Beane told him to sod off.. And yes … im kidding … for all we know .. Kromer could have been cheerleading for Beane to make that move ..

If a Tackle is BPA at 60 then go for it ..although I think this is unlikely and I don’t particularly like this guy at that spot . I think 60 is a real awkward spot in this draft actually … i don’t like anyone that is left in this scenario presented here … I would even entertain Kam Kinchens who is falling like a stone … I hate trading up normally .. but I’m thinking it might be better to trade up from 60 rather than the first round … alternatively they get lucky in the second round like last year ..but hope isn’t a plan …

I dunno exactly … they got Edwards re- signed for 2 years at $3m per… they are paying McGovern $7.5 m per next two years and as mentioned they are now committed to see that out …. I don’t hate McGovern but not sure he is that much better than Edwards …. can only assume Kromer loves him

Clapp will end up replacing Greg Mancz on the PS.. I can see them drafting both Tackle and a development C in Rounds 4-5… 60 is an awkward spot to get a T … the Top ones are long gone, and then the value ones don’t really start to middle third …

They had the opportunity to move on from McGovern if they wanted too this offseason … instead they restructured him and he is now definitely here another two years guaranteed … they must like something about him

Beane was too cheap …Edwards obviously going to bet on himself to get paid more next year .. They have now signed both Rapp and Edwards to less money than what they paid Hyde last year … They could easily still make another add if they wanted from Free Agency and probably still be some margin under what they paid Poyer and Hyde last year

The Bills have lost two vets that could play C … and McGovern is a question mark as to how he will fit into the position.. I think it’s likely Beane adds another FA signing here, given that two guys have moved on.. Joe Marino has mentioned former Rams C Brian Allen as someone who could be a candidate … I note he is still available … Started every game in the Rams 2021 SB year when Kromer was there … the Rams later signed him to starter money but he has had several injuries since …and they cut him a month ago.. This is a similar path that David Edwards walked on his way to the Bills … it could be Allen could sign a similiar deal around $2m that Edwards did last year to try and get his career back on track,,, plus they need a second Allen on the team since Kyle left …

I’m generally happy with what Beane is paying out so far … don’t think anyone has been paid “overs” in terms of the new to the team FA signings ...perhaps Rapp got overpaid .. but they obviously like him and are prepared to give him a chance and if it doesn’t work out then they can move on after 1 year … They aren’t going to get every guy they go after when they are tight with the money
