Since Diggs .. I’m starting to talk myself into a guy like McMillan or Baker…if you got one of them ..provided they were paired with an earlier pick say Mitchell, Legette or McConkey.. I think I’d be happy with that .. I mean ..could they even get that accomplished with a trade down from 28 into the mid/ late thirties in return for a third round for say Javon Baker … and picking for example a D lineman at 60? Probably the best case scenario for the draft … if you didn’t want to trade up

I don’t think there is more to it then Diggs having a crack at Allen about one of his mistakes in the game and Allen biting back … Im sure it was forgotten about by the next training session and they went on to play pretty well over the next three weeks

Incidents like this.. players snapping at each other in the locker room after a tough unexpected loss … would happen quite regularly in team sports… Im not saying there weren’t issues with Diggs and Allen .. but this particular story is a nothing burger in my opinion ..

The Bills dont seem to pick these massive DTs … and he is one of the biggest I can recall in recent years … but if he is still there at 128 why not? He seems to have fallen down the mock drafts since the Senior Bowl… but at one stage he seemed like a 40-50 range pick …

Perhaps … I still say a lot of guys wouldnt have taken the paycut… particularly in Miller’s position who might be out of the League in 12 months … I don’t think there is any chance Diggs would have done so … even two years ago when he liked being here .. Those cuts have freed up about $15 mil and made the offseason to date a bit easier to navigate for Beane … they could have freed up all of the money for Josh’s restructure I guess which could have got back about half that figure … They are still short of money now if they want to trade for a vet like Metcalf or even Sutton … I hope they can work something out still and that is a possibility for them …

They made the call to extend him early … I think he had 2 years left … no doubt it was done with the best intentions to keep him happy … He was playing well at the time … but it looks a poor decision now … if they waited another 12 months to the off season after Bengals playoff game carry on … then the fans would likely be happy to see him gone with a first round pick and a lot less cap pain… It’s a sliding doors moment that hopefully we aren’t looking back on in 10 years … just another thing that doesn’t seem to go their way …

I’ve been thinking that he has got a little lucky this off-season with Miller and Knox agreeing to pretty unlikely pay cuts IMO.. I wonder if he still trades Diggs if those pay cuts don’t happen?

I like Beane and don’t want him fired … BUT … he is in the middle of a bad run at the moment … Extending Diggs and Knox and signing Miller have all proven to be poor decisions …and they are coming together now and will negatively impact this 2024 season ( at the least ) which is smack in the middle of Josh Allen’s’ prime … He got then into this mess, so he deserves a chance to get them out of it given his track record you mention .. I will watch what he does with interest …, there is a lot at stake now to get our unicorn QB some help to win a Championship..

My point was about this latest development of having the last three years of essentially non guaranteed money being waived is a better deal for Diggs … not either team .. If he doesn’t play well then he is getting cut regardless … if he does play well then he has the opportunity to negotiate for more money with a new team

He has nothing to lose though .. He only had $3.5m guaranteed …so if he doesn’t perform he gets cut regardless..if he does perform he gets to stay playing at $18-19 m year by year Now If he balls out then some team ..( likely a bottom feeder) pays him more money including guarantees… And the Texans get back a third round comp pick Hey .. probably won’t happen but if we see Weeks 1-6 Diggs from last year and not Weeks 7-18 then it’s some possibility

Let me correct my numbers … he was on $18m next year and $19m in 2026… This is not guaranteed money so he could have been cut anyway if he wasn’t performing Salary cap increased 15 percent this year and might be more next year … I think there is a reasonable chance he can get more money over the next two years

Somebody .. He was controlled at $17-18 m the next three years … you don’t see him getting more money than that ?

As we experienced first hand this year .. the comp picks can change up to 6 weeks before the draft … so we can’t even point to them being 4th and 5th rounds at this stage .., Out of interest ..Is it confirmed that Samuels will be cancelled out by Jackson ? Why not Floyd ? Floyd seems closer in dollar terms to Samuels than Dane Jackson … Im not taking anything for granted this time until the NFL awards the picks and I assume Beane will feel the same ..
