  1. Probably not my favorite to visit. I'd put it behind Seattle, Portland, San Fran and Napa Valley. But if I were to move to the west coast, it would be SD or Santa Rosa.
  2. You turned all my focus from enjoying Josh to being so very disappointed with Ford. I can't unsee Ford now.
  3. Haa! Hindsight is 20/20. Of course everyone wanted Herbert. Of course Tua wasn't ready last year.
  4. Schools shouldn't be in the social engineering business.
  5. My counterpoint is it replaces parents only if the parents disengage. Those that will disengage are probably already disengaged. Those that don't, the kiddo further succeeds.
  6. I think I'm hearing that your solution to ending indoctrination is to end education? I'm hopeful we can find a solution that doesn't require us flush education.
  7. All studies and research need to be considered and evaluated. As I shared with you, there are many that support early education. I think your point about replacing parents is a ruse. In almost all cases, active parents produce better results. Most of the early education programs I'm familiar with strongly encourage (if not require) active parents. In fact, as early education remains most voluntary at this time, it's the active parents that are seeking out these programs. We'll just need to agree to disagree with each other on this.
  8. Kids with active parents are at a significant advantage, with or without public education, with or without early education. Understanding the difference between daycare and early education is an important difference. Do you have a link to support your claim regarding there being no difference between those that attended early education and those that didn't? I've read quite a bit that supports just the opposite. edit - let me add that I'm a Republican. My opinion comes from years of serving on the board of an early education organization. I'm not for indoctrination but rather doing what's best for our kiddos.
  9. The pass kinda sucked, quite a bit behind Ertz.
  10. The science is probably too deep for a discussion on this board, but it has clearly been shown that a child's cognitive learning ability begins around 2 yrs of age. I'm not sure what you're background has to do with anything. I'm not saying success isn't possible without it.
  11. Early education is proven to be extremely important. Access to the children is a huge challenge, however. I live in a small community and access to our high risk kiddos is our biggest challenge. It begins with assuming they have transportation.
  12. Apparently at 2 games
  13. JA has to improve from week to week. If he doesn't get 6 TDs...
  14. Give it up. The man's got an agenda
  15. Dink and dunk down the field today
  16. Josh has hit Sanders a few times, right in the numbers. I'm not too impressed so far.
  17. As an aside, WFTs center was Josh's center at Wyo
  18. Josh will never, ever, say he is playing up to his standards.
  19. I think what most of the folks are objecting to is the conclusion that Allen is a bust as a result of these two games, or even a third straight game. There are many reasons the kid can have a couple of games like this and many of those reasons were captured in this thread. There are more reasons than those captured in this thread that can be impacting his play. We also don't know what we don't know. Stats don't provide the entire story either
  20. I hope you and your kid have a wonderful time. Enjoy the experience.
  21. Allen's decision making has improved significantly. If he doesn't feel comfortable making it, he is now throwing it away and making the throw the next down.
  22. and if he plays well? A year and a half, really They were a wild card team
  23. Not arguing your point that Josh needs to return to form. But yes, the Raiders appear to be that good and two, Watt was injured in the first half and didn't return. He's the leader of the Steeler's defense. His absence mattered.
  24. My biggest frustration these first two games has been the offensive line. If any position has regressed from last year it's the Oline IMO. I've developed a bias against them that I guess I need to get overthat. To me, it seems at least one of them is getting beat every single play. The only way we are able to gain one yard when we need it is the QB sneak. The back-to-back penalties by O linemen (Ford and Williams I think) on what should have been our last drive of the first half, after using all of our timeouts to save clock and give us time to get in FG range, is just unacceptable and so very frustrating.
