  1. The Patriots are basically daring us to sign Peters.
  2. Take a look at the salary cap page (even without the TO update) then look at the gaping hole on the left side of our OL. Someone please explain to me what we are doing?
  3. I think the odds are pretty good that the Bills are exploring these types of scenarios already, behind the scenes, if for no other reason than to help them do "market research" to see how much Peters is truly worth paying should they decide to keep him. You owe it to yourself not to enter high stakes negotiations in a vacuum without understanding the current market. And I think he is worth a boatload on the open market. A young franchise Pro Bowl LT doesn't come on the open market very often and I don't think 3 or 4 first day picks are out of the question. The issue is not what he's worth to the Bills, but what he is worth to other teams - that is what drives the market. If you are the Bills and find that the street FA you picked up a few years ago has turned into the golden ticket, you have to look at trading that for the chance to fill out your roster with quality at several positions.
  4. So in other words, thanks Marv for creating the monster that is now our Jason Peters.
  5. Interesting article. Makes me think maybe we underappreciate Overdorf and Littman. The problem is, maybe Overdorf and Littman do their job (saving the Bills money) too well.
  6. In my opinion a variable more important to this offense than Turk's play calling will be giving T.E. the freedom to call audibles at the line. Since we hear that T.E. is so bright, Turk should let him use this strength to get us out of bad plays. If you have T.O., Evans and Lynch on the field at the same time, you should have the ability to put at least one of them in a position to make a positive play. The odds only increase if you let the QB make adjustments at the line.
  7. If Bills fans try to put up a wall around WNY to keep the status quo, the team will end up looking like Main Street downtown. Yes, it will be ALL YOURS, AND YOURS ALONE. But will you really want it?
  8. Great post. Glad to see I'm not alone.
  9. Found this nugget on SI.com: Peter King says he was told that Owens had a "come to Jesus" meeting with Bills head coach Dick Jauron. And Owens met with Buffalo's offensive coaching staff. The Bills wanted to make sure T.O. understands that Lee Evans is still going to get a lot of passes. --------- My comment - I am not a DJ fan but I have to say this was a smart tactic for the Bills to employ. Since TO is basically auditioning for the rest of the NFL this year, it was smart to take the approach from Day 1 that the organization, and not TO, is in charge. Any disciplinary action taken by the Bills publicly against T.O. will be another nail in his coffin and I think it was smart to lay down the law right from the start.
  10. No indication on buffalobills.com. Anybody know?
  11. Ho-Hum. The Bills are just trying to set the NFL record for hosting the largest number of free agents without signing anyone. I think TO will secure the record for them.
  12. How much guts does it really take to have someone in for a visit? If THAT ALONE shows guts, then the Bills have shown LOTS of guts with all the free agents they have brought in. Apparently Ralph needed to earn some frequent flyer miles or something. The REAL show of fortitude, skill and guts comes from ACTUALLY SIGNING someone instead of being outbid or just flirting with the fans.
  13. Great to hear Donte is thinking this. I am thinking it would be nice to have a safety, any safety, that is a playmaker.
  14. I see no reason why we will do any better than 4-12. A minor league operation comprised of draftees, players, front office people and fans who are just happy to be in the NFL.
  15. Umm...maybe because Fitzpatrick is actually worse than JP. Look at the stats.
  16. What section are your seats in? Send me a message if you like.
  17. The fact that we dropped Dockery's salary (part of his 09 salary as well as his roster bonus) tells me that we might make a run at Brown.
  18. Just woke up, rushed to the computer only to find.............the Bills cut salary with Royal and Dockery yet added...........nobody.
  19. After the election, nothing surprises me.
  20. If you believe this... Link: http://www.eastcoastsportsnews.com/als09scoop.html
  21. Yea we had better, because it's clear that if we keep doing what we've been doing, we're not headed to the playoffs.
