  1. Flying in from Houston with my 11-year old - third opener in a row for us and we're 2-0 the last two years. Not sure about tailgate - possibly swinging through the TBD extravaganza, then my annual stop at the Bills Store and the indoor practice facility. Sitting in Section 211, row 4.
  2. Is the TBD tailgate just for the opener, or is it held before other games as well? Do ya'll use nametags (giving TBD screen names), or does everybody just know each other? Cause I wouldn't know any of you if I saw you in the parking lot...
  3. Clearly, Gailey has a confident, surly, edgy persona that hints at nasty. But other than this (which is clearly an appealing change from nice-guy Jauron), what other evidence is there that the team is developing a swagger? How does a team demonstrate swagger in the preseason?
  4. Interesting that this incident happened after the very LAST practice of training camp, just before the Bills huddle up into their string of closed practices. Not saying that Chan planned or staged this, but as a shrewd leader he had to know that speaking out today would help bring his team together at a critical time. Gailey also stated today that he wasn't thrilled with his team's mental focus. By creating an "us vs. the world" mentality, he's conjuring up motivation and "edge" wherever he can find it. I like it.
  5. Great point John. Wish I had thought of it.
  6. Thanks for posting this. I watched the video last night and wondered the same thing. Played it over again and still couldn't tell who Wilson was asking about.
  7. Thanks, and congrats to you on the sweet site upgrade.
  8. Yup, just got the text.
  9. It's just a simple matter of.........ponying up for club seats. It's a promo that they offer for new club seat holders - they let you choose one game to go on the field pregame. I called and locked it in for the opener today. Back in Feb. I decided to pull the trigger on season tix this year and the only option that got me inside the 40's was the JK Club. Granted they are expensive, but to come in with no seniority and sit in the 4th row of the Club on the 50 yd-line, was pretty amazing to me. Only in Buffalo can you make that happen.
  10. Kind of surprised that nothing has been done yet. You have to wonder what kind of poker games are being played - on one hand if you are an agent getting a call from the Bills you know they are over a barrel right now. On the other hand, your client is out of work and needs to sign somewhere. Maybe Brown's list was intended to send a message to agents that there are options out there for the Bills...
  11. I would try real hard to see it in person with my son. No doubt people would converge on downtown and tear it up. Don't think it would do much for the economy long term but it would turn the area's psyche around permanently.
  12. Just landed pregame field passes for my son and I. Woo Hoo!
  13. What a novel concept! Nice first post.
  14. To the OP - how can you say this without knowing how Bell will perform this year?
  15. There may have been an element of PR in Brandon's confirmation that the Bills were pursuing Shanahan and Cowher, but the idea that it was MERELY PR, is absolutely ridiculous. It completely defies common sense. Put your "PR" hat on for a minute and let's assume that theory is true. Do you knowingly initiate and publicize your coaching search and inflate fans's expectations, all the while KNOWING that the end result is going to be a small-name disappointment? Apparently the brilliant PR plan consisted of getting fans excited for a few weeks only to treat them to YEARS of cruel and disappointing reality? Just what is the PR value of artificially inflating and then intentionally crushing fans' expectations? THINK people!
  16. I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn off of Transit Road (it's not ON Transit) near the Thruway Exit. It's pretty basic, no bells and whistles, but its functional. Very close to the airport too. I stayed there for last year's home opener and the Bills won, so of course I'm staying there again for this year's opener.
  17. I think that most here DO look at the front page first. I know I do. To each his own, but don't be surprised to take flak from people for parroting in a new thread what's already on the front page.
  18. My league sources are pretty quiet right now.
  19. I never seen any evidence that Overdorf has a say in "who" to retain. I think his role is reserved to deal structuring after someone else decides to make an offer and/or how that player fits into the team's plans.
  20. Overall it looks real good. Interested to see how the "rep" feature is going to work.
  21. I see the vision and elusiveness of Thurman in his prime, with maybe even more burst through the hole. Definitely he's a force to be reckoned with from day 1. I now agree with the statement (that I believe either Nix or Gailey made) that CJ is the type of back who makes his OL look even better than they really are. In a sense, his selection was a novel approach to making the OL better without actually selecting an OL.
  22. Question - are you a knuckel head if you can't spell knuckle correctly?
  23. Aaron, can you say COUNTER move?
  24. Let's keep in mind that 3 of our projected starters (Bell, Wood, Green) did not play. The depth did not look good however, and Chambers was atrocious as usual.
