  1. To me, the real news by far from Buddy's address was that he acknowledged that Urbik could be the successor to Cornell Green at right tackle. I hadn't heard before that that Urbik would be anything other than an interior lineman. And I liked his response to the question about Green's play - "I watched the same game you did."
  2. I guess you haven't heard that the loss was Edwards' fault.
  3. How many of you professional evaluators who "signed on to the hate" saw the game in person? How much time did Edwards have in the pocket? How were the receivers doing getting open? Was Chad Henne lighting it up? Just asking. I was at the game and I believe the loss was a team effort. Cornell Green is a turnstile and the receivers are not hustling.
  4. Love it!
  5. Seems like there's a letter from the Bills arriving every other day lately, each with little bits of info or giveaways, but no discount card yet and I leave tomorrow AM.... Why not just send everything in one package?
  6. I bought a white throwback Edwards jersey last year from DHgate and I like it a lot. And I'm pretty picky.
  7. The last two home openers were the Seahawks and Tampa Bay. We won both.
  8. Anyone overly anxious about the outcome should sit and watch last year's Miami at Buffalo contest (Week 11). The Bills rocked.
  9. I wonder if the late cut was intended to make Grove less desireable to opponents. Some GM's may not want to upset their rosters at the very last minute. Almost like a game of chicken. Who knows, just a theory.
  10. That does it - I'm chunking mine when I get it.
  11. Correct - in the Bengals game they stunted him up the middle. Looked promising but the play was blown dead due to a penalty - must have been a false start.
  12. This was mine as well, for a similar reason. Took my 9-year old to his first game ever. Through a near-miracle, he was put on the scoreboard and I got a photo of it because I knew in advance he was being put up there (see my avatar). We now have made home openers our tradition and we're heading up on Saturday AM. A close second is Jim Kelly's first game, as another poster said. That was electric.
  13. Anyone else stuck by Trent's comments (at the 4:30 mark) about "seeing the field more" and "defenses slowing down"? Frequently you will hear accomplished players in different sports (Gretzky, etc.) talk about the game slowing down for them. Trent's description gives me hope about his progress and an indication that he may already be benefitting from competent coaching. I think this team will be fun to watch offensively this year. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/videos/Bills-Roundup-Two-Players-Sign-Injury-Updates/f9630e2c-bde9-47d1-b487-b387d76399c7#?id=1780cdda-6b0d-4b1f-87a9-d8bc7420b053 (Click on the Trent video.)
  14. FINALLY I read a post with some sense. Anyone who pretends to know who is responsible for what picks is in dreamland. To quote Jim Mora, "You think you know, but you just....don't....know." Maybe, just maybe, I'll give JW the benefit of the doubt. There MAY be a possibility that he has some knowledge informing his statement. Beyond that, ya'll are just whistling dixie.
  15. Obviously within media circles it's in vogue to be dismissive of the 2010 Bills, but that means almost nothing. It's all about what happens in between the white lines. I think it's clear that we have better coaching this year, a real offensive identity and philosophy, and some weapons that the coaches know how to use and that teams need to account for. With better luck injury wise, there is no real reason to think the Bills can't be competitive every week.
  16. The Bills simply do not lose home openers when I'm in attendance. The trend continues - Bills 24, Fins 20.
  17. I never understood the Edwards hate on here, but I did predict he'd be the starter and I'm OK with that. He will definitely benefit from the competent coaching he's now getting. Hopefully the O-line will hold up. Will be at the opener with my throwback #5 jersey on!
  18. You know, it's really all about the attitude that you bring to life. No matter what our circumstances are, all of us can look up from our daily lives and find reasons to be bitter, ungrateful, or feel like the world owes us more than what we have (i.e., in the NFL this would be like a Jason Peters). Or, we can choose to count our blessings and be thankful. Obviously, Nelson is one of the latter and not the former. And the Bills are better off for it - these are the guys you want on your team!
  19. That's one way to look at it.
  20. Don't let it ruin your day or anything.
  21. This is what I hate about how athletes use Twitter. If you're going to tweet "Guess I'll be in Buffalo", why not say exactly what your status is? Are you just being coy? If you're told not to divulge your exact status until X o'clock, then just don't twitter until then. It just screams, "please give me attention, please give me attention.". Stupid in my opinion. Maybe I'm just old school.
