What don’t you like about Brevin Jordan?  It’s my biggest question to the board.  What am I missing here as to why people don’t love this kid?  Not a polished route runner?  Not tall enough? I’ve read some scouting reports and watched a bunch of tape.  I like what I see.  Why don’t you like him?

    @Buffalo716@GunnerBill@Blokestradamus  @thebandit27  @BADOLBILZ

    Anyone care to elaborate?

For me I just don’t see what he adds to this offense? He’s a developmental move TE that’s probably never gonna be very good in-line and will be a year or two away from producing in this offense - he’s a less athletic hedge against Knox not taking a step. If I’m gonna grab a TE in that range I’d rather get Tremble, who I know can come in and be a good blocker right now and has as much upside as a receiver.

I voted for Molden but ***** me, most of those options are dire for round 2.

Getting the distinct feeling this class might not be that good.

yep. This is why I’m team trade. I don’t hate trading up in the first, but really I prefer trading out of the first and using a surplus of capitol to move around and get guys you like as they will be few and far between.

Like Jaelan Phillips, I don't expect Tyler Shelvin to be on our board. Too many character and motivation problems.

Jamar Johnson is the one that makes the most sense out of those 3 so that's a good addition.

I don’t know about Shelvin, but my go to for 1-Tech is Alim McNeil. He’s good against the run already and offers a nice upside as a rusher. He’s super athletic for 330.

I think Radunz is likely the BPA.  But can he play guard?

Cox is in the running for BPA, but he’s a taller Milano.  He can’t play mlb.  Can Milano play MLB?  Is he overkill?

Molden is in the running for BPA, but can’t play outside corner

D”Wayne Eskeridge is my favorite player/value on the list.

Kenneth Gainwell is my favorite player on the list, but might be there rd 3.  Might be a reach @ 61 but he’d be worth it IMO.

A ton of these guys are nowhere near round 2 talents. I chose Molden cause I like him as a joker role/Honey Badger-esque, but he wouldn’t be my pick.

We reaches like crazy for Ossai, and undoubtedly we will again in this thread.

The Menierz kid being TBD’s favorite is peak TBD draft season. You don’t draft a guy in the second round who would have been lucky to be a UDFA 4 months ago.
This isn’t a “wow, he wasn’t on anyone’s radar, but look at how great he was on the tape” situation. This is a “wow, he wasn’t on anyone’s radar, hasn’t played in a year, and had “okay” tape against the lowest possible competition when he did play, but he worked out a lot and looked decent against higher competition at the senior bowl.” His stock has gone from fringe camp invite to second round pick and everyone’s favorite story in the pre-draft process.

    Mike Mamula anyone?

  4. Picture this:

This gentleman holds a press conference to admit that he lied about Donald. As his confession comes to a close the floor suddenly gives out and he falls through a trap door into a dark slide tunnel. He falls, yelling on the way down, and lands on a soft surface in the dark. He yells out asking what’s happening and a voice comes over a PA system “lies have consequences mr. *insert name*. The consequence of this lie is that the lie comes true...”

the lights come on and he finds himself in an octagon, he frantically gets to his feet and turns around to see Aaron Donald wearing boxing shorts and cracking his neck.

the camera pans outside to the sound of a grown man screaming a high pitched scream.

Does he not think every other Quarterback in the NFL had the same benefit in 2020? Do I think it helped Josh on a few plays? Sure. But the KC defense confused us with no fans in the stands in October just as much as it did with a few thousand Chiefs fans at Arrowhead in January. The issue is we can't seem to work out how a team that generally didn't have high end pass rush broke down our generally stout pass protection. They were arguably KC's two best pass rush days of the year in terms of pressures and definitely Buffalo's two worst days in pass protection. That is the biggest issue they have to work out to beat KC in my view. One of the reasons we couldn't go toe to toe with them was we lost up front on offense.

Steve Spagnola has made a living on this.

I think the big issue is that we couldn’t beat man off the line. That’s why I think they valued Sanders so much.

    Well, @whatdrought.....what d'ya think?

    Best ?

    Worst ?

I'll start by saying that Cody Ford switching to his college #74 is going to turn his career around.

Thank you for acknowledging the fact that I am a founding member of "the number on the jersey determines the players career outcome."

I saw this earlier, and was going to make a thread on it, but didn't get the chance at work.

    My thoughts:

    No. 3 - P Matt Haack - A good number for a punter, I was expecting this.

No. 8 - QB Mitchell Trubisky - I was hoping for #9, but I don't hate 8. Either way, I'm fine to never see it on the field.

No. 10 - WR Emmanuel Sanders - While I don't traditionally support WR numbers in the 10's, for him I'll make an exception cause he has looked great in 10 over his career.

No. 18 - WR Brandon Powell - Best part of this is it keeps any drafted WR's from the teens, unless they change once powell gets cut.

No. 22 - RB Matt Breida - I like this.

No. 50 - LB Tyrell Adams - No real thoughts

No. 52 - LB Marquel Lee - See above

No. 68 - OL Bobby Hart - It works. I usually view 60's as more an interior lineman, but I don't get too picky. I want 66 saved for Dickerson or Humphrey.

No. 77 - OL Jamil Douglas - Impartial on this.

No. 80 - TE Jacob Hollister -  I like this a lot. I was worried about 85, which I wouldn't have loved, even though it's not a horrible TE Number, but 80 is a classic number that hasn't gotten any love from Bills lately.

No. 93 - DE Efe Obada - Love this as well. I expect him to make the team, and 93 is a good number for a big long DE, without stealing 90 from a rookie DE.

No. 4 - QB Jake Fromm - Who cares. 4 Reminds me of the time when I was convinced Brain Brohm was the savior... That one week.

No. 15 - WR Jake Kumerow - Yuck. Mostly because he looked great in 87, but also cause I don't like 15 as a WR, Smoke not withstanding.

No. 28 - RB Antonio Williams - I'm pro this. 35 is a strange RB number, but 28 has a lot of potential. Pretty much as 35 he had a chance to be a random guy who did some nice things occasionally, but in 28 he has a chance to be a star.

    No. 64 - OL Jordan Devey - Don't care.

No. 74 - OL Cody Ford - This is hard for me.... 74 is a great number for Ford, and it's a great number for a Guard in general... That being said, I'm curious why he's changing? There was a big deal about him taking Wood's number, so I don't know if this is him resetting, or what? - I guess it's his college number, so I'm okay with him getting a fresh start. I agree, this could be the step that shoots him to the stars!

No. 81 - TE Reggie Gilliam - NO! I don't like this. He looked good in 86, for one, and for two, there's just not a reason for him to take 81 from whatever draft pick we grab... Plus, i'm still mad at him for not keeping 41!

No. 90 - DT Brandin Bryant - Yuck. Get cut and give that sexy number to someone whose gonna make the team (nothing personal guy who I didn't know existed till just now)

Interesting that you have Davis higher than Baron Browning

I initially thought of Browning, but I like Davis’ skill set in the middle of our 3-4 and I have a guy whose a slugger in Johnson. I want Davis to eliminate passing in the middle of the field.

Also, Daniel Jeremiah is all over this guy, which is usually a good indicator. He said he reminded him of Darius Leonard in his ability to fly around and make plays.

It's a personality trait.  Highly subjective personalities tend to believe that they can intuit snap judgments and have no concern for a lack of facts or evidence.  At the opposite end of the spectrum, you have highly objective people who obsess over details and can't get to the conclusion part to save their lives.

As usual, it's always better in the middle, unless you are in a situation that benefits from snap judgments or an overabundance of caution.

Is this your best snap judgment of his snap judgment?...

I would imagine that If this becomes an issue one side or the other will cave. Josh will get the vaccine if it’s not that big a deal to him, and If it is, the county will write in a nice little exception for players provided they do XY&Z. The controversy about who has to have what in their body to view a Bills game goes away real quick if there’s no reason to view a bills game.

With the 31 st pick in the 2021 NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select Terrence Marshall - WR - LSU.

Another toy for Patrick to abuse defenses with. DC's will lose sleep trying ho figure out how to stop CEW, Kelce, Tyriek, Hardaway and Marshall. Our T position was a thought, but we have a couple of promising young guys that should keep Mahomes upright.

These are good points and I can't argue against them as I agree with it to a degree. If you could slide into early rd2 and pick up a 3rd(and using our later picks to sweeten this pit) or 4th, it does make some sense.

Beane loves to talk about BPA and he follows it to a certain extent, but he knows what players he really likes and he will target them and go get them, he has done this every draft and his usual comment is that they were rated so high and sticking out like a sore them so we had to go get him. He is also the guy that would rather get his guy and then not have him available when the next pick comes up, if you like a player and he's there at your pick and the value in the board is there you take him. When your next pick comes around he may be gone.

IIRC, he has also made a comment saying that if you trade back, you might as well trade out of the entire round, granted this year it makes sense with only 2 picks till RD2.

The 5th year option though is something I tend to think he would prefer to have and having a player you like potentially be taken before this next pick, is not a risk I see him taking, unless there are multiple players available. When he traded up for Knox, he indicated that the TE run happened and they had to make a move before they were shut out. I don't see him wanting to trade back and have the run on CBS, for instance, happen before that pick.

Yeah, It's a strange year because there is no right answer. Beane has a ton of flexibility, which I'm sure he loves, but makes our guessing games harder.

I like the fifth year option on a CB if there's one there you like... I just see a lot of simulations (including this one) where I'm not in love with anyone on the board and would rather have the day 2 flexibility.

Thanks, I haven’t been keeping that close an eye on it. Just saw the wording and got confused.

Yeah I think this does need some clarification.

To my non-lawyer ear, dismissed means a judge decided that the case has no merit and dismissed it.

Dropped means the person filing the charges decided to not continue pursuit for whatever reason.

    IMO dismissed implies innocence.

That’s what my first thought was, but I did some digging and it looks like in legal terms dismissed can mean:

    - dismissed by the overseeing authority, as in, the judge throws it out.
    or

    - the defendant has been “dismissed” from charges/dismissed from the filing.

I hadn’t heard the second version used before, but that would likely be why the lawyer phrased it that way.

  13. @Reed83HOF- I think you’re falsely equating trading back with drafting more players. I don’t think that’s the case at all for where the bills are.

Trading back out of the first gives you flexibility in the 2-4 rounds to move up and around and get several players you like. If they don’t have anyone they love in round 1, you could flip that for a 2 and 4, or even 2 and 3 and then use your later picks to move around those rounds to get 4-6 top 150 picks that you see as solid depth and developmental pieces.

While I agree that you there isn’t much room on this roster for late round depth; I think the best idea is to leverage for mid-round talent to build depth and create competition while giving you options for the future.

I don’t know how likely that is, but I think it’s a viable route and I wouldn’t be shocked to see it. i also don’t think the “he’s never traded back” logic makes sense. We’re talking about 3 drafts that Beane has run. Hardly a huge sample size, and he’s never had a roster so stacked. The world is his oyster right now and he truly can let the draft come to him, so I’m not holding my breath about any option.
