Your offer was trash.  He’s not going to dignify it with a response

I like this. As you are the defacto commish, I appreciate the smack talk. I would love to see Rog take the podium and roast teams on draft night:

“With the 5th pick, the Bengals select someone who they will never give a second contract to.”

”with the 18th pick the raiders are taking the fastest human they could find who may or may not have touched a football at some point.”

”the redskins, or, err,.... that team, are on the clock and nobody cares.”

”The seahawks are on the clock now- let’s see who they’re taking with their first round pick who definitely wasn’t getting picked by anyone else until the third round.”

”hang on, the Texans are on the clock but their pastor wants me to make it very clear that Desaun is innocent, and he’s 50% off now.”

“The patriots are picking *insert players name* because they love his low moral fiber.”

I don’t even see how an offer could be better. Grab your free 2nd rd pick and make the other trade after Miami makes their selection, as long as their player is still there, which you would know, because Miami told you who they want.  Too easy.

This is a very valid point... you could swap 5 for 6 and 50 and still sell 6 for another haul and stay in the top 15.

Shut your face.  You’ve already had your pick.

edit- I had a different response, but didn’t know the profanity filter would get that word....

Once I submitted my pick I turned into Kiper. It’s all just takes and criticism from here on out. Can’t stop, won’t stop.

  4. With the 4th Pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos select, Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State University.

The Broncos are very happy to add a multifaceted playmaking weapon to what we know to be a top 10 roster in the NFL. Justin adds a threat of running the ball that will open up things for our incredible playmakers, and our suffocating defense will benefit from the offense taking a step forward and forcing teams to play from behind.

I cordially invite NFL defenses to come ready to face:

    - Justin Fields

    - Melvin Ingram

    - Courtland Sutton

    - Tim Patrick

    - Jerry Jeudy

    - KJ Hamler

    - Noah Fant

    - Albert Okwuegbunam

(Don't ask me about Phillip Lindsey, I'm still pissed that John got liquored up and cut him for no reason)

In other Broncos news, we have a young QB with a lot of upside that is available if anyone is interested. He's a sure Lock to improve your team......

The Bengals and @Just Joshin' are on the clock.

Yea. The 49ers move was a 1,000 point difference. The Pats move is a 750 point difference. And in terms of trade value this year's 2nd is equivalent to a future 1st.

I don't think Fuller or Darby are much good. Is that an answer? :D

It's an answer for why people might mock them a CB at 9, but not an answer for why they'd take one there. :P

  6. The Patriots are giving up one less 1st round pick for four than the 49ers did for 3, and the Falcons end up falling back further? I guess that's the decrease in having the 3rd choice, vs the 4th.

Do you not see the Broncos moving up for a QB?

Also, what's the insistance that the Broncos still need a CB?? (not just you, I've seen this everywhere) They have Darby and Fuller added to the room that already has Callahan as one of the better NB's in the league, and they got flashes out of two rookies in Ojemudia and Bassey last year... I can see it later in the draft, but I don't get people giving them CB at the top of the draft.

  7. You only give up first round picks for QB’s. Look at the teams that have given multiple firsts for non-QB’s:

    - Texans gave two first rounders for LT, now they’re in shambles.

    - Seahawks have 2 firsts for S who doesn’t even play safety. Their star QB wants out cause they can’t build a competent team around him.

    - Rams traded 2 first round Picks for a CB, had the best defense in the league and lost in the divisional round and traded more first rounders for QB.

The idea that a team is “one move” away and that overspending to make that move is a good idea is just wrong.

Ordinarily I am a trade down for picks kinda guy, but we are now in position where we should trade up to try and get an impact player.

7 rookies are not making this squad.

I actually go middle ground on the trade up/trade down position.

unless they absolutely love someone to go up for, I say trade back and then use later resources to try and get 5-6 picks in between 40-150. Quality depth pieces that can develop into starters.

In general I prefer that over trading up just cause I don’t know who in the first round is gonna def. get snaps on this team.

if we do trade up, my guys would be:

    - Vera-Tucker

    - Owusa-Korramoah

    - Farley/Horn

    - Maybe Paye, but I cant sort the Edge class to save my life.

  9. I loved Miller coming out, but he hasn’t turned into much... hard to tell if that’s him or that offense. I wouldn’t hate making a move for him, but I think we’d be better off using a pick on a cheap development guy.

Also, look how many good players Mitch makes when running a hurry up.... sometimes with him I wonder if the coaches were doing to much to coach him and needed to just cut him loose some...

Why are these crimes being committed by NFL players?

The NFl really has to address these issues now and really turn this around because this criminality is giving football a very bad reputation and I feel at some point people will just tune out. I really hope this changes.

I don't really know about this situation, but in a lot of these NFL players we see some combination of the following:

    - poor family life growing up, potentially lower economic level

    - They're seen as gods throughout highschool and college

    - They're given an obscene amount of money at a relatively young age

    - They rarely have good role models that go back far into their history

Obviously, this doesn't excuse any of the behavior, and I am far from one who says "its all about what happened to them" and "every perpetrator is a victim first" but by and large, unless you have someone helping you learn right from wrong, it's hard to grasp on your own... Especially with a bunch of negative influences like money and fame.

And then another element is that they're just people... People do ***** like this all the time. If you live in a relatively dense area of population, you can probably draw a mile circle around your house and find a situation like this every week or so. The difference is that random dude in the ghetto, or random dude in the trailer park doesn't make the news when he tunes up his lady. We idolize these kids cause of what they can do athletically and then we're surprised or shocked when some of them turn out to be bad people, or to have different opinions than us. It's just people at the end of the day.

  11. I just did a similar spreadsheet last night and then did a TDN mock draft where I traded around and got 5 guys between 40-120, added them to the roster and then did cuts.

after I had my 53 it was very very hard to get to 48 or whatever for a game day. We are so deep at so many spots that good players are going to be sitting out games.
