Doesn't appear that he, or last year's Player X (Matt Cole, who went to the Dols) are anything to write home about.

Nah, that’s kind of the point. I think the articles are about showing what the other side of the draft process is like for the guys outside the media coverage. In a way it’s something we’re all familiar with- a job hunt/interview, but at the same time its completely different.

  2. This is a fun read that SI has done the past few years. As a lover of mysteries, I like to try and follow the bread crumbs to see if I can deduce the identity of X. The first year I did, and I'm pretty confident I have this years figured out, but I won't spoil it.

Added cool thing - Bills were one of the teams that scouted him:

    Quote

After the season resumed following the COVID-19 outbreak, the director of football operations says seven teams sent scouts to the school’s next two games: the Packers, Bills, Raiders, Panthers, Dolphins, Seahawks and Buccaneers.

I voted no, but it’s pretty inconsequential for me. I really just didn’t see a point to it. To think they actually devoted time to discussing the topic seems like a waste of time.

Meh, I see it as about as consequential as a uniform redesign. I personally care a lot and dislike the rule, but I get that it has no bearing on the actual game. People that act like it doesn't matter at all (not you, but I've seen it multiple times) would be signing a different tune if the Bills rolled out an ugly new uni. Looks do matter.

  4. This is a random prediction that is so vague, but makes a ton of sense to me:

The bills will draft someone in day three who turns into an instant impact and a long-term star.

Just between our propensity for hitting late picks, and the way that this draft looks so unknown at so many places, I can see us taking someone who flourishes late in the draft.

    Niners draft Trey Lance

Miami drafts Javonte Williams in rd 2

Jets draft Najee in rd 2

    Pats draft Gainwell rd 3

Bille have the worst RB unit in the AFCE for the first time since 1999

Bills draft a DE and CB with their first 2 picks.

If we have the best passing attack in the AFC again, I'm fine with that....

I mentioned him before.  I think Bucky Brooks has him rated as the best run-stopping DT in the draft.

He's a run stuffer who gives a lot of upside as a pass rusher. He could realistically play 1T or 3T.

This Cover one account just did a whole vid essay on him. Good stuff. He's my wish at DT.

He's not a long DT, but he's a little dynamo in the middle and just keeps pushing forward.

With the 63rd pick in the 2021 draft the Kansas City Chiefs select ... Walker Little - T - Stanford.

Early in his time at Stanford Little was on his way to being a 1st round draft choice. Injury in 2019 and opting out in 2020 ended that idea. Little should be healthy now , at least we hope so.

#Bigdaddyinorlando and his bucs are on the clock

He’s one of those interesting guys caught in covid that could end up being a high pick and nobody knows who he is.

Fans get overly focused on patching "on paper" holes in the offseason.

The Chiefs CRUISED to 15-1 with basically no LB corps and their CB1 was a replacement level player who is still unsigned in free agency.    And they probably win their second straight SB if not for the OL injuries.   Being undeniably great on offense........threatening defenses over the entirety of the field......... is more important than some sort of perceived personnel balance on both sides of the ball.

They just got crushed by a very balanced team.... this argument is stupid. If the chiefs have a good defense and aren’t playing the whole game from behind they can work around the OL issues. It’s 60 minutes, both sides of the field. Anytime someone tries to make one side the priority and completely ignore the other side they end up getting beat.

It would have to be down to Mario Williams or Jason Peters.    Peters was incredibly dominant for 3 seasons(prior to his holdout season).........and of course was the much greater player than Williams.   Williams had two great seasons with Buffalo........he'd help a lot.    But it's easy to look on paper and say the team is more needing of a pass rusher.........but likely having the best OL in football satisfies job #1 which is to maximize the potential of Josh Allen.......your biggest factor in winning and losing actual games.    I think one of the mistakes fans make is to try to even out the talent on both sides of the ball.   That's not actually how most SB winners have done it.

Meh, I get the argument for Peters, but I’m not looking to change our tackles right now. I get the idea of moving one inside, but I would rather have a true guard. Plus, we just set a record for scoring with our presumed best 5 not playing a single game together. I want an upgrade at IOL, but for this exercise give me the dominate DE.

But I agree with the premise that Peters is up there as best Bill from the drought.

  9. Anyone whose not saying Mario Williams is just bitter about how it ended. It’s not close.

He was easily one of, if not the, most dominate player in the drought era. He was a top 5-10 player at his position for several years with the Bills. Who else can claim that during that period? Moulds, probably. Maybe Clements.

Add 10-15 sacks and the dominance against the run to this defense and things change greatly.

My random darkhorse pick who would be fun though, is Terrance McGee. Upgrades CB2, and gives us a great return option.

Exercise is fine, result is not.

I don't watch college but I've hearing for three months on TBD how Shelvin is one of the candidates for 1TDT for our 3rd round pick. And somehow we just took him in second. Weird.

he’s like a fringe third rounder at best. 1 tech isn’t a top 100 pick, let alone top 65.
