  1. Spoiler Alert.... He eventually pooped out the quarter.
  2. Wasn't this post supposed to be about, in some way shape or form, the absurdity of Coller (who I actually do like) using his college baseball days as a point of reference on a talk show? He's not a former athlete in the media like, say, a Steve Tasker or Ray Bentley, who I'd listen to if they wanted to draw a parallel to their playing days. Furthermore, the past week's instance wasn't the first time MC has pulled out the "I was a player, dude" card: https://twitter.com/MatthewWGR/status/630903103865364480 I just think its very disingenuous and smacks of egotism. Graham certainly went over the top, but he proved his point. I'm sure Coller won't be recalling his playing days on-air henceforth.
  3. The guy doing pbp must be somebody's nephew or godson. I've heard better quality broadcasting from college kids. Barely knew the roster and was only slightly aware of camp news (ie "Dan Carpenter is getting the night off"). Not to mention him screaming "INTERCEPTED!" when the Panthers were on offense and a Panthers player clearly made a catch on a back-shoulder throw. Also, you shouldn't bleat like a love-struck girl on a one-yard screen pass completion in the first quarter of the first preseason game. Or ever.
  4. Thurman gashed Billy Boy's defense for 135 yards and was a wide-right away from being the game's MVP. You guys don't give Rex enough credit.
  5. First of all, the Bills logo is a classic...one of the best in all of sports. In terms of NFL teams, it's up there with the old Patriots logo, the Raiders shield, and the Steelers emblem as the best in the league. That being stated, how the hell does this Asskman list not have the Titans weirdo logo in the No. 1 spot? That is by far the worst logo ever contrived in any organized sport, professional or otherwise. Seriously.
  6. Aren't the Vikings playing their entire home schedule in a non-NFL venue this year? And the Bills can't play one lousy game there due to a special circumstance? The NFL is whack.
  7. Analysts who laud a player with the following: "This guy loves to play the game of football." I do hope so.
  8. Agreed. Would feel much better about the Bills' chances if Richie Kotite was on the other side of the field Sunday.
  9. Williams has some screws loose, no doubt about that.
  10. What the hell have Andy Reid or Alex Smith won to merit such undue lusting?
  11. Van was a once-in-a-lifetime talent. Maybe he was not the most technically sound in terms of describing the action in detail--especially late in his career--but he more than made up for it with his feel for the game and his ability to project the raw emotion and enthusiasm of the moment through his voice. He is most definitely on my Mt. Rushmore of broadcast legends, and one of the main reasons I wanted to go to school for broadcast communication.
  12. Looks like you spoke/taunted too soon. SD Fox affiliate switched to GB/Miami. Enjoy.
  13. Well. They have been. I think 14 straight years of not making the postseason speaks to that. Everything is relative.
  14. Terrible. Living in Philly market and neither local affiliate is ever inclined to show a Bills game. I'm hoping they make an 11th hour switcheroo and dump out of the GB/Miami game in favor of our game. I've already sent an email plea. But, yeah, I'm not gonna hold my breath.
  15. Good call! That's a big one, especially since the game was flexed into the SNF slot. Forgot about that one... probably for the best, I guess
  16. Still kicking Fitz's corpse? At what point will you and others get bored of that tired act? The guy played well for his abilities and gave us some fun memories, but I guess if you were expecting him to be Drew Brees you are obviously still nursing psychological scars. Maybe we should start a new poll: Who do the denizens of this board love to hate more: Fiz or Eli Manning?
  17. I cannot for the life of me understand the fetish that some people on this board have for denigrating Eli Manning. Orton has one average-to-mediocre game in which the defense saved the day, and now we're trying to elevate him past a two-time Super Bowl winner.
  18. I agree with the OP, and I think this is one of the most important home games we've seen in this era of Bills football. I was thinking about this earlier, trying to come up with some of the biggest non-home-opener games at the Ralph in recent memory. Here's my top 3 from the past decade... Nov. 6, 2011 vs. NYJ: Fresh off a spanking of the Redskins in Toronto, the Bills were 5-2 and riding high. Unfortunately, the Jets popped our balloon in an ill-conceived "white out" at The Ralph, triggering a seven-game losing streak. Final score was 27-11, but it wasn't that close. Dec. 24, 2006 vs. TEN: The Bills won two straight and climbed back to 7-7, putting themselves right in the mix for a wild card. But, Vince Young and the Titans had other plans on a very windy day in Orchard Park. Dick Jauron famously opted to not attempt a GWing FG in lieu of a Hail Mary heave. 30-29, Tennessee won. Jan. 2, 2005 vs. PIT: I think we all remember this debacle. A win-and-in scenario for the Bills, but Pittsburgh's mostly-backup squad dashed our postseason dreams and appropriately ended the Drew Bledsoe era in Buffalo. A 29-24 heartbreaker. Now then, all that being said, I hope this one coming up on Sunday has a lot better odor to it after the smoke clears! GO BILLS!!!
  19. It was already a six-point game, and, yes, they did punt...one minute later (game clock). Instead of getting the ball back with about 2 1/2 minutes left, we got it back with 1:42 to go. It was a huge play and it caused me to yell out a naughty word in public.
  20. Yes, let's get an oft-injured QB. That is clearly the answer.
  21. You're basing that off what? Do you know me? Lots of company men around here. I guess we should all be O.K. with waiting a half-hour (at 12:15 p.m.) to get in through a so-called "super gate" and the organization should take zero blame for it. That's cool. Just shared my experience and I wasn't looking for sympathy. And I wasn't the first to be snarky, so I just returned the volley. He survived.
