  1. Terry Francona is the manager of that team in title only. At best he's a joke in that clubhouse. In reference to letting Pedro begin the 8th having already thrown 103 pitches, and then giving up the homerun to Matsui, Francona said: "If I run out there after two pitches, you understand what I'm saying, it would make it look like I wasn't making a very good decision before the inning." WTF??? So, that pretty much is the equivalent to saying, "well, I already F'ed up the game...might as well let it go just to prove my own dimented, selfish point." Sheesh, nothing like standing behind a decision that everyone and their blind, deaf dog knows is a mistake. And why did Terry leave Pedro in there to start the 8th? "In my opinion, he still had good stuff," the manager said. Yep, a 90 mph fastball is top-shelf stuff for Pedro, no doubt, Skip. 103-frickin' picthes, Terry!! Wake up!! It's pretty obvious that this year's reason for the Red Sox failing in October will be the man who plays "Manager" in the dugout.
  2. Much like Fez, I'm big into the whole prog/concept album scene. I love all the Dream Theater and Shadow Gallery albums, and I just recently found out about Ayreon and bought "Into the Electric Castle" - great stuff! I'd classify all that as prog-metal. For something not-as-hard, here are some symphonic prog-rock recommendations from my corner of the universe: The Flower Kings ("Space Revolver" is a good starting point, but they're all amazing. If you're really brave, check out "Flower Power") Spock's Beard ("Snow" is a masterpiece - a two disc tour-de-force musical story that is reminiscent of The Who's "Tommy") Marillion (one of my favorite albums of all time is "Misplaced Childhood." The vocalist sounds eeriely similar to Peter Gabriel) Transatlantic (a super-group comprised of members from the above three bands plus Dream Theater's drummer Mike Portnoy - they made only two albums, and I HIGHLY recommend both, as these guys are virtuoso musicians and have a sound that pays homage to groups like ELP, Yes, and Genesis....btw the two albums are "SMPTe" and "Bridge Across Forever") All of the above are availabe on Amazon....so, go buy and ENJOY! B)
  3. Looks good to me....fire away w/ the PM!
  4. Can't argue with you there. Don't have the DVD, but bought the album a few years ago with no prior knowledge of Queensryche other than "Silent Lucidity." But, I was looking for a smart, heavy concept ablum and, after reading a few online reviews, picked it up. As a prog fan, I think it holds a very high place in the genre.
  5. You've been listening to too much "Operation Mindcrime." B) (Yes, I have that album.)
  6. You folks act like it was a down-right shock that WM didn't play last year. That was part of the deal from day one. And I think the argument that "well, anyone who had a pulse and put on a uniform last year was a better pick that Willis" is atrocious at best, since a lot of strategy in drafting certain high-profile positions has NOTHING to do with the upcoming season. By your logic, the drafting of Ben Rothelsberger(sp?) or Eli Manning were both awful, since both won't start and, worse, may not take a meaningful snap under center this year. Ever heard of "drafting for the future?" Oh, and I guess JP Losman was a wasted pick, too. Now that I think about it, anyone with a pulse and a helmet would have been a better pick that JP Losman...
