  1. That's the rub with taking any RB in the first round. They're probably only good value when they're on their rookie deal, but if you only expect to use them on their rookie deal, it probably isn't worth it to begin with.
  2. I think he's draftable; I just personally am not interested in being the team that does it. For the Bills, I'm looking for: Receiving ability & pass blocking ability Home run ability Comfort running with spread personnel With regard to Dillon: Non-existent in the passing game and struggled the few times they did try to involve him. 3rd worst in the class in terms of breakaway % (% of yards made up of 15+ yard runs). No evidence of it; BC is pretty much solely running 22 personnel and other packages like that. Ultimately, the only thing he really proved in college is that he can churn out tough yards out of crowded formations which I'd generally like to minimize anyways. Everything else is either a weakness or completely unproven. If you're a team like Tennessee that wants to play that way anyways or you're a team that wants a guy purely for goal line carries and similar situations, I think he makes sense. That just isn't something I want to invest a draft pick in.
  3. He was one of the worst RBs in the league this year in terms of catching the ball?
  4. I disagree. I don’t think speed is really all that necessary with RBs; it’s more of an added bonus.
  5. I agree with the idea that a trade up is more likely. I just don't like it lol. Unless we're talking about like moving up from 22 to 20 or something and even then, I'm iffy on it. But trading up is Beane's MO and it's a guarantee he'll do it at some point in the draft since we have those extra Day 3 picks that he won't use.
  6. I really hope we don't take a RB in the first, but if we did, I would tend to prefer Swift. Taylor does look like a really good runner though.
  7. Akers, Edwards-Helaire, and McFarland were the three that stood out to me in the on field drills (outside of the 1st round guys). Speaking of first round guys, Taylor did a good job catching the ball after that was a pretty major concern; he seemed stiff/slow running the routes though.
  8. Right lol. I think I might be able to keep pace with Becton (and I'm nowhere near half his size) but knowing Wirfs would blow me away is terrifying. No interest in taking a RB in the 1st personally. Would be a nice pairing though.
  9. Watching Wirfs run the 40 was genuinely scary. Saw a report today that he's aiming to get $10 million per year ? I like this Duce Staley drill; helps show the difference between the straight-line speed guys and the short area quickness guys. Akers and Edwards-Helaire really stood out while Dillon and the guy from Washington struggled.
  10. Really just depends on what you want in a RB. Taylor is a great one-cut runner but is generally considered pretty terrible as a receiver. Might be a better runner than a guy like D'Andre Swift, but Swift is a very good receiver and his supporters would say his all-around skillset makes him the better prospect.
  11. The reason Edwards-Helaire would be a good compliment is because he's a weapon out of the backfield as a receiver while also being a good runner. Singletary hasn't really shown he can be a good receiver. If you intend to end up with someone like CEH, you're hopefully finding a home run hitter in free agency somewhere to pair with the two of them.
  12. I couldn't be much less interested in Dillon. He's pretty much only good for running in a straight line out of 22 personnel and similar groupings. Just isn't the kind of offense I want to be running and I don't think he'd really offer much value even on those plays. If we're going to draft a RB, I want a guy that's either a versatile runner, a home run hitter, or a 3rd down back. Dillon is none of those things.
  13. Henry-mania. It's swept the nation, not just here. I'm only taking Dillon if it's like 7th round or undrafted personally.
  14. Hopefully Dillon's performance today helps push a better prospect down to us.
  15. 4.86 40 too. Lord have mercy.
  16. That was my immediate thought too lol. The other stuff all makes sense though, though I’m higher on Pittman than the rest of the world apparently is
  17. My dream would be to still get AJ. Think he's pretty much perfect; we can give him a big short-term contract now and basically wash him off our cap sheets by the time we really need the money. I don't expect him to come here though. Absent that, I'd probably be calling teams to see if anyone is available for trade; would obviously depend who it is. If we have to go the free agency route (and assuming AJ is off the table), I'm fine with it being an unexciting move like Funchess, Geronimo, Agholor, Paul Richardson, etc. If I had to pick one, I'd probably go for Richardson. Mims can get there, but you'll see when you put his film on...he's about as polished as Metcalf was, maybe less. And certainly is not the press-beating machine that Metcalf was. I would absolutely love to take a chance on Mims, but I need us to have a starting option ahead of him.
  18. TLDR, Pauline spoke to teams last night/this morning and came back with the following: Justin Jefferson is now on the Round 1 radar. Denzel Mims is locked in as a 2nd rounder. Michael Pittman could be a late 2nd rounder. Teams were disappointed in CeeDee Lamb's athleticism. Laviska Shenault expected to be a 2nd rounder. Jalen Reagor is still on the 1st round radar, but teams want to see how he times at his Pro Day. They say he was laser-timed in the low 4.3's in the lead up to the Combine.
  19. I think it's pretty imperative that we do. Not bringing in another vet that can start (even if it's just someone cheap and not special like Funchess) would create the need for a WR that can step in and start right away, meaning you can probably cross some of the interesting guys (Denzel Mims, Laviska Shenault, Justin Jefferson) off the list. I'm definitely hoping that we sign/trade for someone so that we have all options open to us in the draft.
  20. I'd be fine just bringing Shaq back, but I think a guy like Adrian Clayborn or Robert Quinn offers us an upgrade without breaking the bank.
  21. He's the only prospect we interviewed at both the Senior Bowl and the Combine so far. I would say we're definitely showing interest in him.
  22. I think that would probably require having two 2nd round picks, which is doable, but obviously we'd need to make a trade to make that happen.
  23. To be fair, the contested catch rates are generally small sample size since offenses are much more spread in college. For Jefferson, he caught 12 of 13 contested passes.
  24. I think safety is a pretty decent need; just not necessarily for this upcoming season. But either Poyer or Hyde will be gone soon and this is a good spot to get their replacement. Bonus points with Dugger because you can use him in other spots to fill in some gaps too. It'll depend on what's available at #22; I don't really expect there to be an OLineman worth taking (I assume Beane wants to keep Ford at OT despite what he's said in the media and as mentioned before, it's a weak class for guards). That basically leaves WR, Edge, and CB as the relatively pressing needs. We can get the same quality WR in the 2nd as we do at #22 and we'll likely somewhat address it in free agency anyways. I think we'll address at least one of CB/edge in free agency if not both and don't necessarily think the corners and edge guys are worth the pick personally; certainly think you can argue for the safeties being on par if not better prospects than the options we'll likely have at corner and edge.
  25. If not Dugger, there's Delpit, Davis, Winfield, possibly McKinney if he makes it that far. #22 is a good spot for a safety, but I think it's pretty clear Buffalo likes Dugger a lot. He has some developing to do, but Buffalo is the perfect place for that with Frazier/McD coaching him and Hyde/Poyer ahead of him on the depth chart and Dugger offers a combination of skills none of the other safeties do. I don't know what to make of Biadasz draft stock; I remember he was thought of as possibly the best IOL in the draft coming into the year. Seems like this is perceived as a really weak class for IOL and he's stumbled with Cesar Ruiz establishing himself as the #1 guy.
