  1. She's from Australia...their version of football is constantly moving so it makes american football look slow and boring by comparison (in her and many Australians' opinions). Hates baseball for the same reason, though she'll go to a baseball game for the food and relaxing atmosphere. As for basketball, it's really because we went to Syracuse so she got into it since it's huge there. And since she got into watching Syracuse basketball, she can handle watching the Bucks NBA games with me occasionally.
  2. Mine is a blessing and a curse...she likes sports (yay!) but absolutely despises american football. She will at least watch college basketball and occasionally the NBA with me though.
  3. I'm not a diehard soccer fan, but I went to check the new stadium out when Rooney was playing there and it was honestly really awesome. Nothing quite like a soccer crowd, even in the US. I just bought a house in DC so maybe I'll end up checking the Defenders out if the tickets aren't too bad (assuming the league survives). Seems like it could be fun.
  4. Seriously though, this is actually watchable.
  5. I’ve been a DC Defenders fan since Day 1. Hope this is finally the year for my squad.
  6. I’d be perfectly fine with signing Funchess assuming it’s a cheap deal. No real harm in it and he’d at least give us some coverage as far as a big red zone target goes.
  7. I can’t remember if it’s this year or the next, but oí vaguely remember Marqise Lee and Hayden being cut-able guys for them as well.
  8. We’ll see if he actually makes it to Syracuse. Sounds like the current belief is One and Done rule remains in place until at least 2023 if not longer. Still a long time for that to change or for him to decide to go somewhere/do something else but obviously a gigantic win if we keep him. Sounding like we’ll have some more commitments to celebrate soon too.
  9. Supposedly he's the main source that people have been quoting when they talk about Eagles players wishing they had kept Foles over Wentz. Re: the OP, I floated Jeffery as a potential target as well. I think it would make a lot of sense for us and some sense for Philly if those rumors are true.
  10. You're missing the context. He's saying Shenault would be the final piece to an already explosive offense and because we are not an explosive offense, he is not a good fit for us. He thinks he would be a good final piece for the Packers or Saints and says we need a building block, which Shenault is not.
  11. The thing is, Shenault doesn't really use that size aside from his contact balance. He's not particularly good at getting off press coverage or making contested catches, which is really what people are looking for when they're thinking of the desire for a big WR. A smaller player like Jalen Reagor is better in all those areas than Shenault is. That's his point. He's saying Shenault is more of a finishing touch to an offense and we are not there yet. Edit: Not saying I agree with that necessarily, but that's what he's saying.
  12. Breida is a free agent isn't he? And Brown is definitely not the speedy variety. I would gladly take any of those 4 guys though. Arizona is reportedly releasing DJ (doesn't necessarily mean they'll sign Drake though).
  13. FWIW, DK was my #2 target behind Oliver at #9 last year and I don’t really want Shenault unless he slides to #54. I don’t think he’s anywhere near DK as a prospect personally.
  14. AJ would theoretically address it. I think a trade might be more likely though (or if there’s a cap casualty).
  15. Pretty easy to watch him play and see how Daboll would love to have him. I’m concerned he’s not really a good fit for the biggest hole in our WR corps, that being the X. Struggles with press coverage and struggles with route running. I’d be happy to take him if we address the X spot before the draft but I don’t want to take him and pencil him in there.
  16. I won't touch any over/unders until just prior to the regular season personally. No sense in risking it now when for all we know one of our important players could suffer a season ending injury in preseason or something. Not to mention we really have no idea what half our opponents will look like next season. But looking at it right now, I'd guess we're looking at that 8-10 win range again, so if I had to bet right now, I'd probably go over.
  17. Basically, yeah. Paying RBs a lot of money and or taking them in the first round is a waste of premium assets IMO. There might be an exception to that rule here and there but I don't want to be the team trying to find the exception.
  18. Just say no to first round RBs, especially when we have a starting RB already.
  19. He also referenced being #87 in the montage before his performance; it's 100% Gronk. I think the 9 Super Bowl appearances was on the entire season of the show, not just the group from the first night. I'm fairly confident none of the others are athletes, so unless it's like "Yeah, I was shown on a crowdshot at the game", it seems pretty unlikely.
  20. I don't really see the Evans comparison. He reminds me more of guys like Stefon Diggs and Santonio Holmes; shorter guys that were very good at going up and grabbing jumpballs that you generally rely on bigger guys for. He's most likely my #1 realistic option at #22.
  21. Happy for him. Will be very curious to see what they do with their team this offseason but they're ripe to be back in the playoff race immediately if they do it right.
  22. The O-Line and Rivers (largely due to the O-Line but also because his arm wears down every season) were the worst parts of the Chargers this year. I truly think they would have been better off starting Tyrod. He at least could have helped negate the poor O-Line play a little bit.
  23. They won’t do it, but SF can basically get out of Jimmy’s deal for free this offseason and try to upgrade their QB if they wanted to.
  24. I agree for the most part. Nobody really stood out so even though Mahomes was uneven for most of the game, he won it. Its almost always a QB nowadays and with 310 yards (320 before the kneels) and 3 TDs and leading the comeback, he ended up being the obvious choice.
