I don’t think anyone knows exactly how this will behave since it just came into existence a few months ago, but basically, with its rate of spread and the fact that there is no vaccine, there’s no reason it should stop spreading unless we eventually all go into total isolation. The thing preventing half the country from getting the flu is the vaccine’s existence.

The 3.4% number isn’t the actual mortality rate but it will still be a ton of deaths if it spreads that much.

Waddle and Hogan were cancelled out by signings and then they didn’t get one for Rowe either because the NFL ran out of comp picks to give out. They technically should have had 5 comp picks this year. So long story short, letting Waddle go didn’t ultimately affect their comp picks or ours

Think Robinson is alluding to it there, but I suspect Jones ends up in the $18-20 million per year range, which basically means, prepare yourselves for a monster Tre White deal here.

I went with the 71-80 option. Probably towards the higher end of that spectrum. I'd give a higher grade to McDermott than I would Beane, but altogether, I'm very happy to have them in charge of things so far.

It can be a lot of things. Leaking stories that the team wants leaked to give them leverage, leaking stories that the individual person wants leaked (ex: Brooklyn Nets just fired their coach and the media went crazy with all these stories of how amazing the coach is...that's because he did stuff like this so that they'd return the favor by speaking highly of him, helping him to get future interviews), media member telling the team/individual what another team is thinking, etc.

In case nobody else answered you, we didn't get a compensatory pick for him essentially because we signed Vlad Ducasse and Andre Holmes. It all depends on how many players you lose and how many you sign. I believe we ultimately signed the same number so therefore, we would have needed to release one of our signings during the year to get a comp pick for Gilmore. We ultimately decided not to release Ducasse or Holmes and therefore burned the asset. That was also the offseason we lost Woods so we could have gotten two good picks if we wanted, but Beane didn't prioritize that despite what he always says to the media. No they didn't.

It does though due to what I just mentioned. They get favors in return later on. That's how media works.

Writers can always find someone in any organization that will give them answers because the writer will return the favor. It's obviously possible that some guys might try to manipulate it, but these types of articles come out every year and then the actual results basically match.

He's been great in the XFL but nothing really stands out for him as an NFL prospect.

If Clay's signing is included in the 5 year frame, then that's probably worse than Star. Star is #2 at best though.

As someone else mentioned, this proposal has nothing to do with the safety of onside kicks. It's about giving teams a chance to come back since onside kicks basically don't work anymore.

We already have a good RB. Spending a 1st round pick on another would be a mistake IMO.

I think the 1/$4 is probably closer than 3/$30 but depends on the years. Ultimately I expect Phillips to end up in the $5-7 mil per year range, in which case I suspect he takes a short deal to try to continue improving his value. Not really a rumor, but worth pointing out that we were linked to Melvin Gordon quite a bit this past year. I don't really want to spend serious money on a RB, but if his market is totally dry and he comes in under Ekeler's new contract, it wouldn't be that bad.

You remember correctly. If his value just isn't there as basically all the free agent rankings seem to indicate, it's entirely possible we can bring him back on the cheap. We'll see though. As that list indicates, there's likely a lot of room for us to improve at DT.

My sister-in-law is graduating from med school and her "match day" where she finds out where she'll be doing her residency for the next 5 years of her life is in a couple weeks. They aren't allowing anyone to be there for it, not even spouses. A lot of colleges are telling their students not to return to campus after spring break; they'll be conducting all of their classes online moving forwards. Another friend of mine is a flight attendant and said she's started having flights that are literally empty; like a flight from Boston to Philly with 0 passengers on it because everyone is afraid to be on a plane. Edit: Just heard Syracuse University is following suit. All online classes for at least a week after spring break so that students are home for at least 14 days before they consider bringing them back to school.
