  1. You could still add released players and it would not count towards the formula. I could see an add or two there. In theory, you could add Bobby Wagner or Zach Cunnigham or Myles Jack Frank Clark or Leonard Floyd Michael Brockers or Al Woods I'm guessing OBJ doesn't count as he is a UFA for two years, but I am not 100% on that.
  2. I get the feeling that Bernard was never drafted as a Tremaine replacement. He is not a mike. He was drafted to add depth and special teams ability while maybe eventually replacing Milano. They didn't have a backup will. Either that or he was drafted as the third linebacker in 3 linebacker sets to be the Shaq Thompson. With McDermott taking over the D, we could see more 4-3 under sets (Johnson would come off the Field and Bernard on...big nickel-type concept.) He was highly recommended by Dave Aranda and McDermott probably really wanted him in the building. Was it short-sighted or a bad pick? It is too early to tell. What makes it a bad pick is the guys they missed out on to draft him. IMHO he was not drafted to be a Mike...if they wanted a mike I figure they would have taken Leo Chenal or Brandon Smith who went a little later.
  3. Just like the belief in Spencer bRown stuff, Beane was pretty clear that they won't add anyone from the outside and it sounds like McDermott is going to call the plays. I bet Holcomb or Bobby Babich will be the run game coordinator and Butler will be the passing game coordinator, doing all the grunt work with McDermott calling the plays on gameday.
  4. Me too and good point. But they are paper champions. Remember all those years when the Bills or Jets or Dolphins won the offseason. The Bills sign Mario Williams! Dolphins got the great Nick Saban and Daunte Cullpepper as a pairing. It never mattered because the Pats had Brady. It really doesn’t matter now because we have Josh Allen.
  5. Yep forgot him thanks. I like him. Interesting, still young, athletic. Not sure what went wrong in Pittsburgh.
  6. Anthony Walker and Denzel Perryman signed. So that really leaves just Wagner as a FA.
  7. He ate Wyatt Teller's lunch. Everyone's favorite long-lost guard.
  8. People are getting skewed by PFF numbers and sack production. Oliver is a disruptor. He does a really nice job in the run game against much larger people and he causes havoc on the pass rush. Sure he has his up and downs sometimes. I am not sure where this notion that he's terrible comes from, but I completely disagree. I'll stand on this island by myself if need be.
  9. Just to kind of add on, Edwards was playing next to Andrew Whitworth during his best years and, Whitworth retired after the Super Bowl, which could also have affected Edwards' play in a negative way in 2022. But he was definitely Tua'd by the Rams, and the concussions should be a concern, but the Bills have managed Mitch Morse really well, so we shall see.
  10. Sometimes they hide visits. Like last year the Elam visit came out really late in the process. Sometimes the key is looking at the positions they are bringing in. Like last year they met with a ton of linebackers and drafted two, but neither were reported visits. Guys, they drafted who they reportedly met with last year: Kaiir Elam James Cook Matt Araiza UDFA Jalen Wydermyer (signed) In 2021: Jack Anderson In 2020: Zach Moss So sometimes you have to look at what isn't being reported to get clues.
  11. Here's the Walterfootball key: SR - Senior Bowl meeting. EW - East-West Shrine meeting. COM - Combine meeting. INT - Interested. VINT - Very Interested. PRO - Pro Day or campus meeting/workout. LOC - Local visit. Prospect making a local visit. PRI - Private visit. Prospect making an official 30 visit. WOR - Private Workout. Members of an organization working out a player in private. STM - Some Type of Meeting. VIR - Virtual Meeting. % - indicates more than one meeting at an event. ^ - has met with team at more than one event. # - indicates meeting set up outside of the 2023 Senior Bowl or the 2023 East-West Shrine Game
  12. I think Simpson will get there, he is just a little raw in the box. Sanders is extremely raw in the box with the highest upside. I like both guys, but if you want plug-and-play with great instincts it's Campbell.
  13. That's why I always kind of laugh about the BPA-based-on-need thing. An argument can be made needs are: LB (Mike) DT (contracts expiring) Edge (Von Injury, AJ's last year) Safety (older guys, Hyde coming off injury) WR (added a bunch here, but could add more) TE (only two on the roster and no true #2) OL (Depth and people to challenge starters) So non-needs: QB Corner (though an argument can be made here with Tre not looking amazing) RB (though an argument can be made, Harris 1 year deal) BPA-based-on-need....every team pretty much has needs everywhere.
  14. Good question. You can still run RPO scenarios in Gap and power sets, they just have to be out of the shotgun formation. There are backside and play-side tight-end RPO concepts that can be deadly. To your point though, just give Harris the ball and let him run, that opens up so much of the play-action passing game and I hope that is where we are headed. They dabbled in gap scheme stuff the last couple of years with the QB counter bash, down blocks on the play side, and a kick and a seal. I think they need to add more of this. Good breakdown: https://www.footballoutsiders.com/film-room/2022/bills-diverse-run-game-problem-playoffs
  15. Some rumors about Poona Ford, he is a 3 tech like Oliver. It is not a very impressive group left in free agency. They likely draft a guy as well.
  16. It is pretty much a repeat of last year's offseason where they just completely ignored the corner position and claimed "sometimes the answer is already on your roster." I do still think Wagner could be a good possibility though. Needs at linebacker dried up a bit around the league but there are still suitors, with the Commanders, Browns, Raiders, Vikings, and Steelers probably still looking, with the Cowboys and Seahawks maybe in on Wagner.
  17. He is excellent on the zone game stuff, but I do hope they integrate a little more of the gap scheme stuff. We do a little bit with Josh running and it is really good. That stuff hurts teams like us with smaller, faster defenses. And Harris looks like he is shot out of a cannon on those power plays.
  18. Because their OL grades are BS. It’s the most difficult position to grade and analyze. Some of the stuff they do is great. They miss the mark on OL imo.
  19. Jeremiah has Quentin Johnston falling to us somehow
  20. I mentioned him in January! Great minds? Something like that? 😝
  21. YeahI agree, something around that. I think if he stayed healthy and his play was consistent, he was probably in line for something like McGovern got. So he has to rebuild his value. At the end of the day, I’m guessing he winds up back with LA
  22. 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️ I pay special attention to Wisconsin and Iowa linemen lol
