That’s one of the fun things about this type of exercise, it kind of gives an idea of what could be left when we pick. Not super promising!
-
Would be great if we were running Greg Roman’s offense
-
I’d rather have Tippmann, personal preference, I just really like his upside and ceiling being two years younger than Schmitz. Tippmann is a Mitch Morse clone and I love Mitch, great fit here. But I agree that Schmitz is probably the higher graded player to this point. I think Schmitz goes in the second and Tippmann late two maybe the third.

Big drop off to those guys imo
-
That’s what college is. Pickett left and the OC left and was replaced with run first OC, so he went to go boost his stock. Instead of playing with a nobody QB and new OC, he went to go play for Riley and with Williams. Totally the right move.
-
I gotcha. If he wasn’t injured I would say yes. But with his injury and age, I think there is zero chance he goes 1.
-
Bobo seemed like an interesting rd 6-7 guy until he ran 4.99 at the combine.
-
He’s also white. That’s his other criteria.
-
Rudolph went in the third, did nothing, and now is a free agent who nobody wants.
-
Did you just watch Kevin Costner’s Draft Day? Also, I like Hooker. But he’s 25 and hurt with an ACL. This year is his redshirt injury year. So he will maybe be a 26 year old rookie in 2024, coming off a significant injury. People don’t trade future value for guys like that.

Do you feel there is a huge drop off after the top 4? Are they your top 4?

Cover 1 Just put out a new Mock Draft, Edge round 1.

Yeah i get that, but some of us were talking about going edge since the combine…now all of a sudden the switch? Very convenient. -

I’ve been saying this stuff about edge for awhile. Sometimes I think these guys read here and take their content from here. -
Poll Closed (Former thread of TSW Draft 1.0)
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I took Campbell. I’d probably take Simpson if he is on the poll. Otherwise, I’d take Addison. -
Jones has some of the same flaws in his game Spencer Brown has without the athletic upside. He isn’t an upgrade imo.
-
Yeah I don’t like Jones. Especially not here in the first. He’s there in the third? Interesting upside. Closest size comps are Orlando Brown and Trent Brown I suppose.
-
My thoughts on this pick are… There is a general consensus that there are 4 first round receivers in the draft. There is no consensus what order they go in. One of those guys is left. Makes a ton of sense. Addison isn’t my favorite, but makes sense here. Simpson imo is the guy this regime is going to love. If you take Simpson, Campbell or Sanders you are taking the best LB in the draft. You are getting the best player in the draft at a position of massive need on the cheap for 5 years. If you go edge player you are hoping to get more sack production on the cheap. We need to get pressure on the QB. If you go OL you are settling for second and third rate offensive linemen in the first and that would be a travesty. It’s a huge drop off after Johnson, Skoronski and B. Jones. These other guys have no business going in the first. It’s the mediocre safe play. Again all my opinions.
-
I think we have to include Simpson and edge guys in the poll
-
Yeah I think Nolan Smith or Will McDonald are BPA right now. JMO
-
I said a while ago that all of a sudden you will start seeing LBs, who are allegedly second round picks being mocked in the first. It’s just people’s opinions and projections.

It’s hard to describe how good that dessert is. One of the best I have ever had. When I was there they actually prepared two by accident and gave us the second one for free. I did not turn it down lol.
-
I like Mr. Bean and Gordon Ramsay (though he is Scottish?). I’ve been to his steakhouse in Atlantic City, so that’s something maybe? Best steak i’ve had. And that sticky toffee pudding? Oh man.
-
Gotta be a QB no?
-
I hear you, but I think they are a year or two away from that situation. They will have to replace the safeties in a year or two but have Rapp and possibly Benford and Hamlin. They need to add top level pass rushers at some point and more DL overall. They need a mike, but if they aren’t taking one in the first, I think it’s pick your flavor in the back end of the draft. I think they can splurge at the top of the draft because outside of the mike position they don’t have glaring needs imo. If they can get up for a top guy great, otherwise they should be trading down like and up like crazy targeting guys. They should try to come away with 5 players imo. Look at those late round picks from the last 3 years (rookie contract) no longer with the team: 2022: Araiza (I know special case), Tenuta 2021: Stevenson, Wildgoose, Anderson 2020: Fromm, Hodgins (Moss traded) I’d rather seem them push for top talent than draft meh talent you can sign as UDFAs. On the current roster there are a couple of spots where a rookie can make the team…OL, LB, TE, DL QB, RB, DB are going to be tough spots to make it imo. At WR, a guy has to get into the top 4 to really play so it’s Diggs, Davis, Harty, Shakir, Sherfield is the 5 special teams gunner guy…I guess my point is that you aren’t going to move the needle with a 4th round pick imo. We need to raise the ceiling, not the floor imo.
