I suppose we could see some Pats guys come over. Cam Fleming could be a target at RT, and Josh Kline at RG (I know he's a Titan, but former Pat). Even though I hate him, maybe throw a bone to Amendola to come and return punts and be a 3/4. I think Chris Hogan gets cut this year as well. Daboll coached Hogan in Miami as well. My target for Daboll would be Dion Lewis. Perfect backup to Shady (he has experience doing it) and he is a good reciever out of the backfield as well.

Agreed. None of the three are going to re-sign to be a backup. Keenum comes back and Bradford or Bridgewater follow Shurmur. I've been thinking Bradford to Washington as he's a good fit for what Jay Gruden does and Bridgewater to Arizona with Shurmur.

, Normally I would say yes, but Daboll was only at Bama for one year, so he wasn't involved in all of the recruiting etc. Alabama did not play against any of the top quarterbacks in this year's draft. The only quarterback to beat Bama this year? Jarrett Stidham who is going back to Auburn next season.

Keenum can play. Really impressive. His eyes are always down the field.

The good news is he will use Shady and he will use Charles Clay. Quarterback is still a huge question mark, but I feel like this is a good hire. I'm telling you NFL insiders will love it. Buffalo press will hate it quoting offensive statistics for those awful teams he was a part of. The one thing about Belicheat is that he doesn't work with dumb coaches. Daboll has to be a smart guy.

I wanted a coach that could make chicken salad out of chicken poo. I felt like Chudzinski was that kind of coach. Not sure on Daboll. I like the influences of belicheat and Saban. But he is young and has been around some good coaches. I will say that this will be a popular hire around the league with all of the talking heads and that we will finally make good use of our tight ends. Quarterback is still a massive question mark. Garopollo would be perfect right about now, but it is what it is. I think there is a negative zero chance Tyrod is back with this hire.

Interested to see what Charles Clay and Richie Incognito think as they played for him in Miami. Being able to use a guy like Charles bodes well for how he will use Shady. He does a really good job getting tight ends involved. Coached QBs like Jake Delhomme and Matt Moore and etc.

Haley is a good coach. I just don't know if you want that guy developing a young quarterback as he is abrasive and difficult to deal with. Like imagine we move up and draft Josh Rosen. I'm sure Rosen and Haley will get along really well.

It's tough for these gadgety receivers to make their mark as rookies. A lot of them really struggle initially. I do like that fact that he never complained about the injury as the year was going. It would have been easy to make excuses when he was dropping big passes. While he is still technically making excuses, I'm glad it came after the season.

Good points. I do think it is too early to cut loose on Lawson. I'm not sure if we have seen his full potential yet. I don't think he will ever be a 15 sack guy, but I think he could be a Charles Johnson type giving you 8-12 sacks a year and he seems to be very good at stopping the run. I think we will see our sack numbers skyrocket if we improve the linebacking corps. It is hard to get sacks when the linebackers are too slow to cover the check down.

This seems like it is becoming more likely. With the report that McDaniels is taking the Indy job, one would assume Chudz is out. In fact, I think this is what Mike McCoy was waiting for as he was McDaniels' OC in Denver. Chudz+Dorsey makes a lot of sense.

This doesn't really pass the smell test. McDermott's defensive ends have always been on the bigger side. Charles Johnson, Mario Addison, Kony Ealy, Greg Hardy, even going back to Philly and Trent Cole, Brandon Graham. All in that 6-3, 265-270 range. Shaq is a good fit, cheap, and played well when he was in there.

The stuff that Bevell was doing early in Wilson's career with the read options he really isn't doing much anymore. I think it's tough to type cast Bevell as a mobile quarterback guy just because he coached Russell Wilson. He literally coached one mobile guy in his 20 year career. It does show that he knows how to adjust his offense to the strengths of his players. Tyrod Taylor is nothing like Wilson in that he simply doesn't have the same passing ability. Beane has said that the most important thing is having a quarterback who can win from inside the pocket. That is not, nor will ever be Taylor.

Maybe Pegula can activate the PSU connection to try and woo Robinson?

Honestly Kansas City was pretty much running the Matt Canada offense this year. All of the RPOs built into the shovel pass and inverted veers is what Canada was doing with Pitt and it's how they beat Clemson. So I guess the ballsy part is actually hiring the guy rather than just stealing his scheme.

To me that is the dream team. If we do awesome and Chudzinski gets an HC opportunity again then you simply promote Dorsey. I can't think of a much better situation to bring a young quarterback into.

Well put. I know a lot of fans like continuity, but if something sucks real bad, what is the point of continuity? I'm glad McDermott was willing to pull the plug. I hope he is willing to do the same with one of his cronies in Castillo.

Shula definitely has a ton of experience, and has been around for a really long time (likely because who his father is). But he has been hated by the Panthers fans for a very long time. My biggest issue with him is not knowing how to use McCaffrey properly. The one thing I will add for Chudzinski is that in the 2013 year with the Browns he had something going until Brian Hoyer got hurt. That was the year they beat us Bills on Thursday night. The game where Kiko jumps over the line to make a tackle and EJ got hurt heading out of bounds. The Browns started 0-2 that year and Brandon Weeden got hurt. Chudzinski decided to go with Brian Hoyer over Jason Campbell because "it gave them the best chance to win." Literally said the same stuff McDermott says to the media. This was his exact quote: "I feel like based on our current situation -- where we're at offensively as well as getting into the game planning for Minnesota -- that Brian's strengths are the best fit for this week and that he gives us our best chance to win," Chudzinski said. "The things that he does well fit what we need. For me, it's about who gives us the best chance to win." Sound familiar? These guys speak the same language. Anyway, the Browns go on a 3 game winning streak, Hoyer gets hurt and they finish 4-12. For a couple of weeks there Hoyer was big news. "The Browns are back" is what people were saying. Josh Gordon had 87 catches for 1646 yards and 9 TDs, with Hoyer, Weeden, and Campbell throwing to him. Chudzinski knows how to coach offense. He also made Derek Anderson a competent QB and is responsible for the development of Antonio Gates in San Diego. He also developed peak Kellen Winslow Jr. I'm really excited about the possibility of Chudzinski.

Naming 50 people doesn't really feel like going out on a limb or anything. But still a good article, with some good names on there. I really like Star, Whitehead, Norwell.

If Chudzinski is hired.... I am all over the Donte Moncrief train. He plays for Chudzinski and seems like he can breakout at any minute. He's big and fast and a great #2 to KB. I know it's not their usual process, but Josh Gordon had his huge breakout season with Chudzinski as head coach. They seemed to have a really good relationship as well. I know he's not a free agent, but if Chudzinski is hired I think he's a possibility. I really like Allen Robinson but I think he isn't going to be too expensive. I think there is a chance the Chargers cut Travis Benjamin who would be a huge boost for the return game. Also had some good times under Chudzinski.
