The most interesting thing in the article is this, and I think it bodes well for us: • There will be some trades in this draft that might seem one-sided. Several team officials told me in the past few days that they value Day 2 picks (rounds two and three) so highly that they’d be willing to take slightly less in compensation to move down. Where could this come into play? Cleveland (four), Indianapolis (six), Baltimore (16), Seattle (18), New England (23, 31), New Orleans (27), Philadelphia (32). “This is not your typical draft,” said one veteran club official Sunday. “The second, third and even fourth rounds are gold. You can take less than the trade-value chart says and still make a very good trade if you get multiple picks in those rounds.”

Wonderlic test scores of 2018 NFL Draft QBs leaked
MrEpsYtown replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't really speak on it to much. You see him making very simple reads and really relying on his athleticism quite a bit. My opinion is he has done a terrible job with the predraft process because he didn't hire an agent. And agent gets guys prepared for everything, including practicing these tests. It's like taking an SAT prep course, that score maybe could have been a 15-18 if he hired an agent who helped him prepare. -
If you look at the list of pre-draft visitors for the Broncos, they had Barkley and a bunch of quarterbacks. The rest of their visits where more of the mid first round variety. No Nelson and no Chubb. I just thought that was kind of interesting. The Dolphins met with Mayfield six times apparently. Should be a crazy draft.

Wonderlic test scores of 2018 NFL Draft QBs leaked
MrEpsYtown replied to Mopreme's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is what it says on that Walterfootball link: "A note on Lamar Jackson's Wonderlic score of 13: Nine quarterbacks were drafted in the past 15 years with a Wonderlic of 15 or less, according to Bob McGinn. Those names were, alphabetically: Josh Booty Nate Davis Josh Johnson Zac Robinson Troy Smith Tyrod Taylor Seneca Wallace Andre Woodson Vince Young Of those nine, only Young and Taylor were starters for an extended period of time, and neither was particularly good. Young had a decent stretch for a couple of seasons, but flamed out because he never developed as a passer, failing to ever throw for more than 12 touchdowns in a single year. Taylor is currently a starter, but not for long. Jackson's Wonderlic of 13 doesn't mean he'll necessarily fail - with some great coaching, I think he could become a good starter - but history is going against him." -
Top 5 players taken already set

Man that would make me crazy. I actually missed the 2003 draft in which my high school teammate Jimmy Kennedy, the only guy I ever played with to make it in the NFL got drafted. That's like the worst draft to miss. I was at college football spring camp at the time. I also missed the 04 Losman draft because I had to work. Those two always bothered me. -

We are all picking on the OP, but he makes a good point in a way. We we have to figure that Barkley, Chubb, and Nelson are likely to go in the top 6, with probably 3 quarterbacks. Those guys are the blue chippers, then there is a pocket of players, Smith, Edmunds, Fitzpatrick, James etc who are all pretty closely graded, then all of the corners and offensive tackles. I do think we will be able to get a quarterback with a trade up in that 5-7, but if we really want to get our top guy, we probably need to jump the Jets or Broncos. I do think one of the top 4 will be there at 7. I still don't think we will wait. -

A couple Bills Rumors from WGR sports talk Saturday
MrEpsYtown replied to Deep2Moulds46's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Probably taking Darnold in this scenario. Browns with Allen at 1, with the Jets taking Mayfield, the Browns could get Barkley at 4. I doubt hey trade out if Barkley and Chubb are there. Then we need to hope the Broncos pass on Rosen. I'm guessing they take Chubb or Nelson if they are there. 1-Allen 2-Darnold 3-Mayfield 4-Barkley 5-Nelson or Chubb 6-Chubb if he is there 7- This is probably the trade up spot. 5-7. I don't think the Browns trade out if Barkley is there. I don't think the Broncos trade out if Chubb and Nelson are there. I don't think the Colts trade out if Chubb is there, I think they do it if he is gone. I think they want Roquan Smith or Chubb. At at the end of the day I think we get ahold of Rosen or Darnold somehow. -
Ragland is a two down backer. He's a good one, but he was not on the field for any nickel or dime. He has a very limited skill set. He is still better than Preston Brown.

Pats; 5 prime time games in 7 weeks???

I hope it backfires on the Pats! But they are probably trying to cash in on the last of Brady. -

Poll: Who Do We Take With Our First Pick?
MrEpsYtown replied to Fadingpain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm going Rosen, but I think Darnold is the other possibility. I think we could trade up for either and I still cling to those really early reports that the Bills loved Darnold or Rosen. One of those reports I think has to be true. Again the Darnold report was in December...not a smokescreen...it could be wrong, but it is not a smokescreen. Even the Rosen report was pre-combine and such. News at that time is usually closest to the truth. -
What is your #1 QB performance metric?
MrEpsYtown replied to TheFunPolice's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm all about reading coverages and passing into windows with anticipation. Going through progressions, processing information. I want the ball out, before receivers come out of breaks. Then you have to have the arm strength to drive the ball in there. If you can do those two things, you will be a successful quarterback. A guy who can do those things can beat any defense. I guess it really isn't a metric, but that's what I want. -
Bills and cards trying to get to 6
MrEpsYtown replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's likely. Gettleman may have told Beane that if he could get to six, then they have a deal. It guarantees the Giants one of Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson. -

I lick the twinkie package, the tops of a protein shake, the cheese that gets stuck on the inside of my cheeseburger wrappers. I lick the lid of my baby's formula package. Such a bad habit. -
If so, Baker is the true millennial jackass here. Despite what people perceive, the idea of putting yourself out there and being honest and open, not trying to be fake, ala Josh Rosen, that is quite the opposite of a spoiled millennial child. Most of those people learn, from their parents, to try and manipulate the system in some way. Lie, deceive, present yourself as something you're not. Apparently there was a little of that with Mayfield and his dad, and probably more of that here. I'm a teacher...I deal with it every day. I have faith that someone like Kim Pegula would be smart enough to see what a loser this guy is. It makes sense that the Jets would like him.
