  2. I agree with you 100%. However, he screwed up trading AJ McCarron, or not trying to sign a vet like Matt Moore. He had to have known that there was a good chance that Peterman would flop. And now he has no wiggle room and has the potential of losing the locker room, which would likely end his career. He almost lost them last year. He cannot take that chance again.
  3. There are a bunch of lineman on the FA market who are better than what we have. You mentioned Boone and Joeckel. Both would be huge upgrades. In terms o cheap adds, I really like Spencer Drango, formerly of the Browns. I think he is a guy that you can plug in at right guard right now and he'd be better than what we have...and would be a vet minimum guy. . The whole Breeland thing is confusing. He is way better than what we have outside of Tre'davious, yet there has been no mention of pursuing him. Hankins makes a ton of sense as a tackle and I think a Perriman addition is obvious. The Pats just cut Chad Hansen, who is interesting and you still have guys like Malcom Mitchell out there. I would have cut Lacey on Monday for going offisdes on punt return. Inexcusable. I would pluck Vince Biegel off the Saints practice squad to replace him. My whole thing with this team is the fact that it feels like I am watching a bunch of boyscouts. There is no edge or toughness. We don't feel like that gritty team that no one wants to play. I think we lost that with Richie's exit. And as much as I hated Preston Brown, I think he did bring a certain mentality to the defense. The team feels neutered, and maybe that is the coach's fault. With that in mind, I would bring in two people: Alex Boone and John Simon. Both of those guys play with an edge and a motor that sometimes rubs other teams the wrong way. That character and toughness is really what is missing here. This team looked liek they were okay with getting their asses kicked. Even a guy like Dez Bryant or a washed up Brian Cushing would bring that edge. This team looks soft.
  4. Orchard is a good solid player who won't change much. He does add depth. I like the signing, but like I said, it doesn't change much.
  5. He got that idiotic penalty for knocking the ball out of someone's hands after the play like a 5 year old. That's all I remember him for.
  6. No one should be surprised by any of this.
  7. I'm surprised the No Fun League didn't try to shut this down
  8. If they had found a way to trade up for Alex Mack that draft, I would have been fine with the trade. Elite for elite. When we got Wood, I was extremely dissapointed. Elite for serviceable.
  9. Dont forget about the Wang.
  10. Agreed. I think that is the problem with some of the dinosaur coaches. The ones who don't adapt to their players really can't function anymore. Tom Coughlin had to change his ways to be affective. As much as I hate BB, he does put his players in the best position to be effective.
  11. So from everything I read, young players seem to love him and he is a great teacher. He is able develop linemen. But he wants things done in very specific ways. Therefore, veterans who work with him ussually dislike hime, because he forces them to do it his way. The best example I could find was Eugene Monroe. This is what he said about Castillo: "Juan likes to develop young players, because that's what he did in Philly," McKinnie said. "He is a good coach and he does help you with your technique, but he wants it done a certain way. My thing is everybody doesn't have the exact same talent or learn things the same way. I don't feel like you can coach everybody exactly the same, not everyone is going to react the same. "Five individuals can't do the same thing instead of trying to make everybody a robot. You need to learn about your players and know their strengths and weaknesses and coach them that way. Juan is highly rated, but it takes time to adjust to what he's looking for." http://articles.baltimoresun.com/2014-08-15/sports/bs-sp-ravens-juan-castillo-0815-20140814_1_andy-moeller-juan-castillo-bernard-pierce
  12. I'm really happy to see Shady in there. That means alot imo...that he is a good teammate and leader. It's so true. We know nothing. The fact that DiMarco and Jones, two people 50% of Bills fans thought should be cut are named captains, goes to show you how very little we actually know as fans. We simply have no idea on any of the intangible stuff.
  13. I've heard a few different things. Multiple OCs is one thing. The pressure Elway brings. Sanders said on NFL network that he really liked Lynch, but Lynch didnt command the huddle and the fans booed the crap out of him, which makes it difficult to play. This is one of those guys who was a huge project, and projects just cant suceed without full devotion to their success. Its almost like immediately after drafting him, Kubiak and Elway already hated him. Multiple head coaches, multiple OCs and QB coachs and there is never any consistency. He just could not suceed in the environemnt the Broncos put him in. It is kind of what happened to Blaine Gabbert, who had something like 7-8 differnt OCs in 8 years. I have also read that Lynch is lazy, doesnt put in the time, and loves sitting around playing video games. But he is still big, young, has ahuge arm and such and maybe he can put it all together someday.
  14. Yep this. He was really flashing as a gunner before he got hurt last year and he has the speed to make a ridiculous play from time to time.
  15. And just to make an excuse or two for this guy...look at who his OC was early in his career when he looked terrible...that's right Rick Dennison. His coach was Kubiak who never did anything without Peyton Manning, same with his other OC Mike McCoy and then there is Bill Musgrave. I also believe that Vance Joseph is the worst head coach in football and it must also be very difficult to have John Elway of all people breathing down your neck. This guy is is the definition of a guy who needs a change of scenery.
  16. Allen is the guy. If they can develop Peterman, and heck maybe Lynch on the practice squad or something, they have trade chips. Just like AJ McCarron, I think this is a case of collecting assests to maybe make some sort of trade in the future. Tyrod fetched a third. So did Bridgewater. McCarron got a fifth. I think this idea makes sense. Lynch needs to be rehabbed and has to put down the PlayStation controller. But there is still potential there, so I am okay with it. It's about collecting assets.
  17. Specialists became true specialists somewhere along the way to today. There used to be a time when things like is were an afterthought. Now every little thing is timed and such. The long snapper, kicker, and punter have nothing to do in practice besides their specialty. So having a punter spending a ton of time with the kicker holding is good, and it becomes almost automatic. Having a quarterback doing it gives him less time to practice quarterback things. Its all about reps and time.
  18. Orchard could be interesting as a guy who can maybe play some SAM backer too. I still would rather Bring in Nassib.
  19. Graham was an over drafted tiny receiver who ran a 4.41. Perriman is a physical specimen who runs a 4.24. He has been inconsistent and dealt with injuries. Im taking a chance on a guy like Perriman.
  20. Yep definitely. I have no problem with the thought process of giving these guys a shot. The one big difference is that Perriman is huge and faster than Coleman. But they have similar issues. Now that Perriman has cleared waivers, he shouldn't be expensive. The issue with Coleman is that we took on his contract to see if we can make something of him. Perriman is the better and cheaper bet imo.
  21. That 4.24 forty is going to get him a second chance. He could still become Josh Gordon without all the weed. A bust yes, but definitely worth a look and maybe a change of scenery will do him good.
  22. Robert Thomas is a big 1 technique type. 6-1, 330. It does make sense to have a guy like this as a fall back in case Star gets hurt and especially if they are going to use Phillips as more of a 3 tech. Also former Panther. Should have seen it coming.
  23. I liked what I saw from Keith Ford. I think he has a chance to develop. DeBeer is obviously interesting as well.
  24. Zay Jones is the key here. If he's is healthy and fulfills his potential then the receiving corps should be very good. If he still sucks and we have Andre Holmes as our #2, then it is very bad. Its all about Zay in my opinion.
  25. Maybe that Alex McGough guy they were interested in pre-draft.
