A Few Thoughts About the Jets Game, in no particular order
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree and thought Morse was really good. Especially for a guy who hasn't played in awhile. A few times guys got beat, but the protection schemes and calls were on point. I also really liked the edge Feliciano plays with. He's going to get penalties here and there and he seems limited athletically, but that boy plays nasty. He was just destroying McClendon and Williams on run plays most of the day. I was really impressed. -
Mosley injury, Dabol play calling or both?
MrEpsYtown replied to BuffaloMatt's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's just a matchup thing. Having DiMarco in there allows them to go fast no huddle, and if the box is friendly, they have a fullback on the field to be a lead blocker if they want to power run. The real solution is to try to find a full back like Kyle Juszczyk, or just use Sweeney or Knox there, guys who are better receivers and can line up in the backfield as a fullback as well. -
4th & 1, how did LeVeon Bell get that?

Rich Gannon: not a great color guy

But I will say it is better than listening j-e-t-s jets jets jets fans and their opinions on matters... -

I for one loved how they came out to start the game. It was methodical and very New England like ad clearly scripted. Allen was very good, then he fumbled the ball. So much empty early causes teams to open up the box a little bit. I saw nothing wrong with the strategy, but I do wish they would push the ball down the field more. -

Aside from Romo they are all pretty terrible imo. -
It's a good point, but there just isn't enough time in practice anymore with the CBA and practice rules. Ferguson was a really highly recruited LS who was carried on the practice squad for a while. It's just one of those things. We tried this a few years ago with Ryan Neill who was a defensive end, and it was a disaster.

It's an important skill. I know it seems like it is a waste of a roster spot, but if the snap is not good, or it is not fast enough, every single punt would get blocked.

Don't forget Scott Chandler!

But ist the Bengals, so it almost doesn't really count

I for one really like Ike's potential. I think he will start to come into his own as the season wears on. Now that he is nearly years removed from the achilles injury that cost him teh rest of his college career, he will only get better. I agree with you that he will be in the starting lineup by the end of the season.

Do you think Zach Zenner is good enough to sign?
MrEpsYtown replied to Sherlock Holmes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anything he offers you are getting from TJ Yeldon, but better. And Yeldon has shown that he really could probably play receiver in teh NFL. He's the change of pace you get imo. I think we are good carrying three backs, especially with the fact that Murph is out there on the street. If someone goes down, he's the guy to sign. -

The Wade thing was going to turn out this way no matter what. It's a free extra roster spot for a guy with a lot of ability who is not ready to play in the NFL yet. It makes no sense to not take advantage of that extra slot. I feel like no matter what he did in pre-season, this was the likely outcome. -

Since Buffalo isn't signing Tyree Jackson to their PS. . .

I'd go Sloter or Mike White for PS quarterback. I'm glad Williams is in. I like Easley and Sills, as well as Yarborough. -

I could see QB Mike White on the practice squad. I remember the regime scouting him hard a couple of years ago -

I do hope Easley and Sills make it here. Yarborough as well. I'm sure we will grab some corners and such as well. -

I think the Bills took Lacey from the Dolphins originally, so I guess full circle? Anyways a name out there that's fairly interesting is Jacob Hollister, former Pat and Hawk. Former Allen target at Wyoming. I know we have a bunch of tight ends, but he's a more of a Croom like tight end, weho showed promise in the Patriots system. And we we need a punter. -
Giants also released Johnny Townsend who would be a punter upgrade.
-
Somebody mentioned Jack Fox punter off the Chiefs. I thought he was a draftable player, and I think he'd make for an upgrade.
-
I like him. Good player, but I do think it's a bit of a surprise that he made it. I also really like the upside of Siran Neal.
