My comp was like a longer Derek Wolfe, kind of a Aaron Smith of the Steelers a few years ago. I feel like Schobel was a bit smaller and not as long, but yeah Epenesa has a power game that I am excited to watch.
Probably see a bunch of releases like this over the next few days, soI think we still look to free agency for depth in the secondary and Tedric Thompson and Daryl Worley are two guys that make a lot of sense to me. But I am interested to see who else gets released.
He did a bunch in pre-season in that video I posted on the previous page. I trust McBeane, but I’m not impressed with Vedvik. They must see something there. I really think passing on Turk, because we have this dude and Bojorquez is a missed opportunity, but I guess only time will tell us.
It’s a trap. Vedvik has got a number of shots and sucks when the lights are on. From what I saw he was rugby punting in college a lot as well which gives guys a running start.
Nah, Epenesa was the read there, some people call it power read or inverted veer. He was supposed to be unblocked but the qb should have pulled it way earlier. Its on the QB and the coaches for calling that.
Havent seen an update on that. He and the South Carolina punter still out there. Maybe we should all start tweeting at Turk to get him to come to Buffalo?
I have no problem with the process. I just hope we got the right one. My problem with the Hopkins pick is that Brandon McManus and Jason Myers were UDFA that year and both better than Hopkins. Draft a kicker, fine, just make sure you are really getting the best one.
Chargers are a sleeper I think. I’m not a Tyrod fan, but that defense is stacked and added Chris Harris and Kenneth Murray. Really good secondary etc. They have offensive weapons and added Trai Turner and Bryan Bulaga to thier offensive line. With Tyrod’s ability to protect the football, and their ability to run the ball with Ekeler, I think they have a shot to be sneaky good. Biggest issue for them is that they have no left tackle. I’m guessing they sign a Jason Peters or something to hold down the fort. People have them way too far down on the docket imo.
Players will shake loose from teams who drafted tight ends, Adam Shaheen, Jake Butt, maybe a Will Dissly/Jacob Hollister type of guy. I do like our group, but some young vets could shake loose in the coming weeks.
I should add that Vedvik was a K/P in College so it isn’t like he’s never done it before. But banking on him being real competition is like thinking we’d be fine at QB with Jeff Teul.
They never punted!
I mean one guy blows and the other guy poops his pants under pressure and is a kicker switching to punter. So I feel like we have zero punters in the roster right now.
Best case in a year he is ready to compete at left or right tackle depending on what happens with Dion and Ford.
Maybe he replaces Nsehke as the swing guy and we flip Ty to some team for a draft pick. At worst I think Ty is a free agent after this year, so maybe Adams is ready to contribute there. I do fee like he is probably a year away from making a significant impact.
Adams makes a ton of sense as an upside add. He’s got length, has had injury issues, but this is the kind of guy you bring along in your weight training program. Very Connor McDermott-ish with more upside.
