I don’t see Grant or Collins as pure 1 techs. Grant can play both and Collins can as well, in addition Collins can probably play a heavy 5 tech like a Calais Campbell with his length. Some draft people see Collins as a better three tech who can play 1 tech because he’s huge. Neither of those guys are pure 1 techs. I think they are versatile pieces. In my mind, on a team who rotates a ton, you get two versatile monsters in the interior to go along with Oliver, Larry O, maybe Carter. It also makes Jones expendable. Same way I feel about receivers and X, Zs and all that stuff. Get versatile pieces who can ball. Sanders is a pure 3 tech only who kinda just becomes the new Jordan Phillips and I am not down for another slow receiver with Harris. He would be like receiver 5 on the depth chart. Makes no sense at this point imo.

So many really good running backs in this draft.

Yeah I suppose they could take their chances later and pivot to one of the vets left after the draft if they don’t get one. I still think a trade for a scheme change guy who has been blocked and fallen out of favor like JuJu Brents makes sense. He’s just as interesting as the second tier guys and only 25.

I agree, but I do think all the top corners will be gone by the time we pick in round 2.

I am doubling up on DT here with Collins. 6-6, 335 with 35 inch arms is something we don’t really have. So drafting traits here. But he’s massive. Harris is a good player, but I am not sure he is what this offense needs.

Yep I agree 100%. It’s a really strange pattern. I guess it’s better than the teams who leave a million holes like the 49ers I just drafted for. They need a OL, DL, CB, edge and off ball backer. So no one knows where they might go. I give credit to Beane filling most of the holes, but leaving that one spot open really forces their hand and makes them pass on guys like Tyler Linderbaum, Tyler Smith, George Karlaftis and Jermaine Johnson in 2022. Both those edge guys went way later than expected and were there for the taking. But we absolutely had to have the corner so could not take BPA. It’s incredibly short sighted, and for a really intelligent front office, it’s really really dumb.

Agreed 100%. I think the depth at D-tackle allows you to get one later with much less drop-off. The dropoff in corner to the next tier is significant imo. Probably looking at Dorian Strong, though according to draft people this is high for him. I think a small trade back is possible, but some of the draft people are saying they don’t foresee a lot of trade ups, unless maybe it’s a team desperate for extra picks.

Morrrison and Thomas are what’s left here in this range. I think that’s the issue skipping CB in round 1, but we shall how it plays out. There are some interesting rounds 3-4 guys but we don’t have a third so that’s tricky as well.

With the 43rd pick in the TBD mock draft 2.0, the San Francisco 49ers select Trey Amos, CB, Ole Miss The Niners have a ton of needs and I think this was good value at a position of need and a really good system fit. Some draft guys feel like Amos is perfect for what the Niners want to do defensively. We’ve talked about Amos a ton on here as a possible Bills target, and I am hopefully they draft him. I thought about DL here, but it seems like the Niners are targeting more 3rd roundish guys. I am happy to come out of this draft with 2 instant starters in Banks and Amos. The Cowgirls and @Might Rather are on the clock.

Bass’s career field goal made percentage is 84.5%. Gay’s is 85.5%. Gay was really good with the Rams over 92%. They are both extremely average. Bass does not deserve the contract he has. Gay did deserve the contract he got when he signed it. He is not worth that anymore. Point being, unless you have an elite kicker, don’t bother paying one. 85% FG percentage is dime a dozen stuff. I know people get emotional about players. The Bills should be looking for an upgrade at the position. He’s a dime a dozen kicker.

I like the fit. What do you think? If he and Revel were not hurt are they projected significantly higher?

I feel like Ulofosio is. He was a core special teams guy towards the end of the season. The other guys are whatever.

I voted Grant, because I think if he or Harmon are there at 30, you probably take one of those guys. However, I really don’t think the Bills will do that. They will take a corner. The chances of there being a corner in the second round at our pick are probably slim imo, whereas there are a bunch of really good defensive tackles still on the board who may be there in that range. But I am very interested and curious to see how it all plays out with this exercise. You are banking on one of Amos, Revel, Morrison, and Thomas somehow making 26 more picks and I just think it’s highly unlikely. JMO. I suppose you can trade up from 56 into the 40s. Porter could possibly be there but I think he will go higher than projected. But when you take Grant here you have to be ok settling for Dorian Strong or Zy Alexander or Dane Jackson starting corner and I am not sure I am there.

I think that was Kiper’s mock…Sanders to the Saints, play in a dome etc. Some other draft prognosticator, maybe McShay, was saying that Saints new head coach Kellen Moore was used to having QBs Dak, Herbert, Hurts, with big arms and mobility and would prefer Jaxson Dart. But that 9 spot is def a QB spot imo.

This draft has a few top players, then a glut of guys middle of the first to like the third who are all similarly rated imo. The strength of the draft is that 15-60ish place and we have 3 picks in there. So I think it makes sense to stay put.

Just never pay a kicker. The difference between an average kicker and bad kicker is minuscule. Top guys are a different story. Bass is average and is being payed like a top guy.

I think once he got beat out by Christian Benford, his career in Buffalo was over. It's hard to overcome being the chosen one the team traded up in the first to get and get beat out by a 6th round pick from Villanova. It's the old Heath Shuler-Gus Ferrotte situation.
