I love Burden here. We haven't talked about him much here. I am guessing he goes super early tonight. I think we will have a shot at Collins and Farmer.

Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
MrEpsYtown replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hairston stayed at Kentucky all three years. Big time production in the SEC. Revel is very interesting, but played against Campbell and Florida Atlantic. Similar athletes, Revel has more length, a serious injury, and played lesser competition. I like Revel a lot too. But it makes sense that the Bills had Hairston higher. -

Ah yes Evans! I member a Mack camp, an Evans camp, and group of people who wanted OBJ. But that's the ballyhoo...we all knew we instantly screwed up the draft. -

Let me just say I love the pick. But I think the lack of hotakes is mostly the lack of options available. It does feel like, for once, they drafted BPA. The big draft crushes here, Grant and Harmon and Nolan were all long gone. So no one has an argument there. The only huffing and puffing is people saying we should have traded up/down or taken Will Johnson. In past years, we all knew Orakpo was the right pick and we screwed up. We all felt like Elam was a reach, 3 all pros went after and the Chiefs took our guy. Last year, everyone wanted Ladd. We all wanted Khalil Mack and not Samy Watkins. This year it's like what is the alternative to Hairston? I also think the 40 helps. Anyways, great pick and I am excited to watch this guy play. -

So many guys never tackle at that spot. I think Beane put it best: they just have to be willing tacklers. -
The Hunter move felt very similar to the Sammy Watkins trade-up to help the quarterback. But I agree that they do not feel like they are one move away. Looks like a Landon Jackson/Josh Farmer possibility. I like Norman-Lott a lot. Then I am guessing they get a WR somewhere. Should be a fun couple of days.

Guessing Landon Jackson and Josh Farmer

A lot of Hairston/Amos. They always seemed like the two most likely outcomes. -

Guessing he was also “sticking out on the board” Ha! -
Guessing they draft Josh Farmer somehow.

It felt like it was always gonna be a corner. I kept saying it. I guess who knows what they would have done if the board fell differently. Amos/Hairston seemed like the path. I like both, Hairston probably more upside. I like it. -

Yeah Starks is by far the best player of that group IMO. A great fit. If they are going BPA it would be a welcome thing. It's probably more likely smokescreen stuff, but he's a dude. Grant and Amos obviously great fits at positions of higher need. I can't recall who had Elam to Buffalo last minute a few years ago, but that dude probably knows something. These last minute hype machines are usually huge smokescreens IMO. -

It's going to be the OL/DL show tonight and everyone is going to be upset! -
I 100% agree!

Drafting Sanders ain't helping them imo. Ward would have. IMO, it makes sense to get one of the two best players in the draft, go stopgap for now or draft Shough or Dart later.

Various Experts Mock Draft Predictions
MrEpsYtown replied to BCAS Baritone's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know some people don't like em, but Walter football has us taking Shavon Revel and Charlie Campbell has us taking Amos. Alright, now to get this virus off my computer... I love Starks. He's such a good fit to play with Bishop. He's a monster. -

No Walter Nolan or Nick Emmanwori or James Pearce either. who knows? -
With the 32nd pick in the TBD mock draft 3.0, the Philadelphia Eagles select James Pearce Jr., Edge, Tennessee. Typical Eagles right? Just sit around and let the draft come to you. I don't think Pearce is the best fit everywhere, but the Eagles have gotten the most out of guys like this. I considered Harmon and a corner here, but the upside of Pearce is just too great to pass up. An explosive first step, the dude can get to the QB and ran a faster 40 than most of the Bills' receiving corps. I think Pearce is a great fit and will help replace some of the pass rush that walked out the door this offseason. I know there are character things, but the Eagles seem to make these things work. Big upside here. That wraps up mock draft 3.0 Thanks to @Virgil for running this again.

TSW 3.0 Poll - Who should the Bills take at #26
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think @Virgil has been pretty clear that we would trade up in 3.0, pretty much no matter what and that is what won the poll. I know it's a little silly that we wound up picking the same guy, but the purpose of the exercise was to see some of the different possibilities and outcomes for the draft. And I suppose we learned that we may not have to trade up. I think it is pretty clear that there are a lot of people on the board who really like Grant. I think he will be long gone, but that's JMO. -

This regime just does not seem to value that much for what they want to do defensively, which I can understand. Most teams aren't going to spend a high pick on a big bowl of goo. I think most of these guys are versatile and can play multiple spots. I don't think Grant is a tub off goo and I do think he is way more versatile than people give him credit for. But I don't think we need to get too hung up over 1 vs 3 tech stuff. Just draft good football players who make plays and have an avenue to playing time. That's Grant or Harmon etc. -
With the 30th pick in the TBD mock draft 3.0, the Los Angeles Rams select Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State. While I don't think Warren is going to drop this far, I do think the Rams could make a move for Warren or Loveland. In fact, I think the QB stuff is all smokescreens as a strategy to get people to move up in front of them for QBs to push talent to the line. The Rams have some pressing needs that could be met with this pick, but I can't pass on Warren. Reports are the Rams tried to trade up for Dalton Kincaid a few years ago and Brock Bowers last year. The Rams' offense was always at its best when they deployed Tyler Higbee and Gerald Everett together. Warren gives Sean McVay an exciting chess piece who can play in line, H-back, in the slot, and line up at RB, FB, even QB. They have drafted a ton for the defense, this one goes to coach McVay and the offense. Warren is 6-6, 261, and has soft hands. @HappyDays and the Kansas City Swifties are on the clock.

A ton of offensive linemen in there, which makes a lot of sense. Highest I have seen Zabel and Jackson. -
