Yeah but as a cheap guy in the offseason who maybe doesn’t even make the team I think it’s ok. If they are bringing him in to be a starter I would be very very concerned
-
pretty sure he is a UFA. Signed a 1 year deal with the Rams last year
-
Eh I think if he’s super cheap it’s worth doing. You get a veteran voice in the room to mentor Amos/Hairston or whoever they draft in the first round. Dude has been to Super Bowls. It’s a very young DB room. Plus you get a contingency plan as a very experienced backup and you create smoke a smokescreen that your biggest hole on the roster is filled.

He’s better than Dane Jackson.

Miami Herald: Dolphins players have turned on McDaniel

And then he was violently shivering lol -
Yeah I get you. I am excited to see what a possible trade up looks like in 3.0
-
We took two versatile, massive defensive tackles. And I think the trade down made a ton of sense with what was on the board, something Beane did in 2022 when he didn’t like the board and just kept moving down. Also gained an extra pick in the trade. To me if you go DT in round 1 you will be in no man’s land in round 2, which is what happened here. I think it is a really good exercise to see the possibilities.

With the 62 pick in the TBD mock draft 2.0 the San Francisco 49ers select TJ Sanders, DT, South Carolina. I debated Sanders earlier in round two but took the corner as I was afraid that position would dry up. This trade up gave me the opportunity to come up and get the target I had earlier. Sanders is not my personal favorite prospect but I think he is a really good fit for San Fran and what they want to do and they have shown a ton of interest in him pre-draft. Honestly with all the needs on the roster the trade up is risky, but I was able to get the OL in Banks, CB in Amos and DL with Sanders. The Kansas City Swifties and @NewEra are on the clock.

Not surprised. He's a dork. He tries too hard. If he were just himself I think he would have better command of things. -

He would be such a fan favorite. Cross promotion with wings places etc. -
What is your favorite serendipitous draft story?
MrEpsYtown replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s just everything with the Josh Allen pick. Wrong Josh and all that from the fans. We made the playoffs, traded Cordy Glenn to move up and somehow found a way into the top ten and somehow got Josh despite all of the teams in front of us in need of a QB. Not sure there will ever be a better story than that. -
@GunnerBill where do u have the UCLA edge guys whose name I can’t spell?
-
I like Sawyer, they won’t draft him. 31 inch arms is just something I don’t think this regime would do with an end. They don’t even like corners with 31 inch arms. Never gonna happen with an edge guy.
-
yes Bills gain 100 and 249 in this scenario.
-
San Francisco will do 62, 109, 177 for 75, 100, 113, and 249. Thats 284+76+20=380 from Buffalo for 215+100+68+1=384 from SF. @Virgil

TSW 2.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #62
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
So if they trade down, probably taking a guy like Dorian Strong in round 3 right? He seems like a good fit. Maybe the Tulane kid? Maybe Jacob Parrish? Would it be crazy to just take Strong here? I guess it’s a reach, but the next pick isn’t until round 4. -

I would just take Sanders. Now one of the most expensive positions in the NFL is set and cheap for 4 years. Now you can cut DaQuan, you have Ed, Grant, Collins, Sanders and maybe Dewayne Carter. Cheap and gives a youthful shot in the arm to a terrible position. We need a corner and there are none here. I dont see the point of grabbing some WR 5 who runs 4.55 here. JMO The DT position is now fixed. -

The only thing I can say is that those guys are not going to be there in round two. Maybe Morrison and Thomas. I think rest are all way gone. Last year the first corner did not go until 22 and still 8 corners went before pick 56 and then two more went by 62. In 2023, 8 corners went by pick 56, 9 by 62. In 2022, 8 corners went by pick 56, 9 by 62. Hunter, Johnson, Barron, Hairston, Amos, Revel, will almost certainly be gone in the first 35-40 or so picks. Morrison, Thomas, makes 8. After that it’s Porter. Maybe one of those three guys are there…Morrison coming off an injury, Thomas is slow, and Porter is inexperienced, raw, and old. Just based on trends etc, these guys will likely all be gone by the time we pick at 56. So it’s either trade down from 30 or trade up from 56 if you really want that stud tackle and a corner. You can skip corner all together if you are content with Dane Jackson or JaMarcus Ingram as a starter, which is absurd for a team with Super Bowl aspirations. But as you said, the move up is possible, so who knows. What I do feel very confident saying is that they won’t be able to get their future starting corner at pick 56. -

I’d take Johnson in a second. Dont care about the timed speed a ton. He doesn’t look slow on film, but I wouldn’t hesitate. -
The fundamental issue with this regime is that Beane has backed himself into a corner where he has these two big needs. BPA is never going to happen with the current needs on the roster. But there are avenues in which he can fill both of those needs by trading one of those picks. I don’t you can fill both standing pat, maybe you can, but you will be settling for lesser players and maybe reaching.
-
Agreed! Makes a lot of sense
-
Been saying it awhile, but unless they make other additions, it’s going to be a corner. Maybe I’m wrong, but this regime is not clever about all this. I just hope they pick the right one.
-
Draft Trevor Etienne. He’s James Cook, slightly more explosive and a little shorter. 5 years younger. Very little tread on the tires. Strong bloodlines. That’s how you reset things instead of paying Cook imo. To me he’s a guy no one is talking about and will be the steal of the draft.

TSW 2.0 Poll - Who should the Bills select at #56
MrEpsYtown replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t see Grant or Collins as pure 1 techs. Grant can play both and Collins can as well, in addition Collins can probably play a heavy 5 tech like a Calais Campbell with his length. Some draft people see Collins as a better three tech who can play 1 tech because he’s huge. Neither of those guys are pure 1 techs. I think they are versatile pieces. In my mind, on a team who rotates a ton, you get two versatile monsters in the interior to go along with Oliver, Larry O, maybe Carter. It also makes Jones expendable. Same way I feel about receivers and X, Zs and all that stuff. Get versatile pieces who can ball. Sanders is a pure 3 tech only who kinda just becomes the new Jordan Phillips and I am not down for another slow receiver with Harris. He would be like receiver 5 on the depth chart. Makes no sense at this point imo.
