  1. East coaster but a huge Mariners fans and I feel it on the backend trying to watch games at 11pm here. I’m usually sleeping by the 5th inning.
  2. Allen is a unicorn! I’m not sure if there will ever be anyone like him.
  3. Oh my bad. Didn’t realize that. Thanks!
  4. In reality I think someone would have traded up at this point, but it’s tough to pull off trades with the draft flying and people having lives. I do think it’s realistic that this drop will happen to one of the those 4 guys, but I think it is more likely to happen to Maye or McCarthy. JJ is the wildcard here because it seemed like he was a 2nd rounder and now all of a sudden people are talking about him in the top 5. I’m not sure I buy it. But if you believe in your ability to develop a QB, Maye in many ways is the prototype. Whether you like Maye or not, I’d bet there are 10-15 GMs who have him ahead of Daniels and there are probably like 5 guys who have him 1 ahead of Williams. It’s a pick your flavor situation imo. It happens all the time. I might add I was having this same debate on Herbert with people on the board a couple of years ago. He was inconsistent, but I was buying that piece of clay and I still think he’s the best QB in that class. Maye isn’t Herbert, but he has similar traits.
  5. Curious to see if the Raiders, Vikings, or Broncos try to make a move up for Daniels! Another question…if Daniels is there do the Jets take him? Sit him behind Rogers for two years? Daniels is a top 3 type guy.
  6. With the 7th pick in the 2024 TSW draft 1.0, the Tennessee Titans select WR Malik Nabers, LSU. I wanted Joe Alt, and I like him a lot better than the other tackles and won’t settle here. The Titans have met with Nabers recently, and while I would consider a trade down in this spot, with Nabers there, I have to stay. The Titans have Deandre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, and now Malik Nabers. Adding a weapon of his ability feels a bit like a luxury, however, Nabers is elite and the Titans would be crazy to pass this up. Also, Hopkins is probably only around another year. Titans also have Tony Pollard, so speed like Nabers just adds explosiveness. We are setting up our young QB for success. We still need OL and I also considered Dallas Turner here, but this is a BPA situation in my opinion. In still need a left tackle, but I have the best OL coach in the business, so we will figure it out. The Atlanta Falcons and @TOboy are on the clock.
  7. Nick Garguilo, C, South Carolina He has an edge to him and is just a classic nasty IOL. He’s extremely intelligent as well as a Yale transfer. I had to deal with the kid, coaching against him in high school. He was a terror then. A LT who moved inside, I think he’s a natural and will probably be one of those guys who is drafted late and starts at center somewhere for 10 years. Great RAS scores as well. Great size, long arms, huge hands. I think he makes it.
  8. I could see the Skins preferring Drake Maye. I think both guys fit what Kingsbury wants to do. I do think Maye has a chance to be the best QB in this class if he is able to develop and goes to the right situation. Daniels is awesome though. I think he is more likely to hit. I do worry about durability and maybe some people in Washington will have flashbacks of RG3, but I would not be happy if Daniels fell to New England.
  9. This is fun always. Believe it or not, I actually hit on a few matches the last couple of years! Eagles Jordan Davis, Saints Chris Olave, Texans Derek Stingley 1st and Jalen Pitre in round 2, Gervon Dexter Bears in Rd 3 (he went to them round 2), Texans Will Anderson
  10. Good old Quarterback purgatory. That was a terribly lonely place to be.
  11. I like both Jacksons. And Julian Blackmon. And of course Simmons. The more think about it, Mekhi Becton makes some semblance of sense. Let him come in, no pressure. Let Kromer work with him and maybe he replaces Spencer Brown next year. I don’t think anyone is going to sign him as a starter. I’d wait until after the draft to do anything at this point.
  12. McDemott was actually assistant DBs coach under Spags and they are both disciples of Jim Johnson. Spags has evolved to play more man and blitz more, but Johnson was know being pretty aggressive. Jim Johnson is a disciple of Fritz Shurmur who also mentored Dick Jauron. So McDermott seems to lean on the zone side of things. But the connections are there as well as some similarities in scheme.
  13. Also deciding they just weren't going to call holding on the KC offensive line essentially handing them a championship.
  14. On Ryan Van Denmark, he is a super high RAS guy with nearly 36 inch arms who was a 4 year starter at UCONN playing left tackle for his last 3 season. He is the exact type of guy you draft or sign and stash and help grow and add strength. i am way more excited about him than I am about Alec Anderson. There is potential there, and we saw that small sample of him filling in for Dion with no issues. And if healthy, Tommy Doyle is the other tackle depth. Very similar player to Van Denmark.
  15. The only thing that I know is that their OL coach the last couple of years was Brendan Nugent. He is now the OL coach in Seattle. He’s a Marc Trestman guy who followed him to Chicago and wound up coaching under Aaron Kromer during that time. He also worked with Joe Brady and Ronald Curry during his time in New Orleans and coached at William and Mary. Nugent also worked for Pat Meyer who is a Trestman/Kromer guy who was Brady’s Oline coach in Carolina. Nugent followed Joe Lombardi to the Chargers and was hired by Brandon Staley who obviously worked with Kromer and LA. Long story short, there is a bunch of crossover there. The Chargers also seem to seek out high RAS linemen as well, though Clapp isn’t one of them. In terms of techniques Kromer and Meyer are all about the aggressive first contact jump set on pass pro. It’s a little different than some other guys teach it, but it makes sense. My really long way of answering your question is that I have to assume Nugent is teaching the same stuff. Here is a detailed, cool if you are into OL play stuff breakdown of the techniques Meyer teaches, which he learned from Kromer: https://steelersdepot.com/2022/02/bring-the-fight-to-them-new-steelers-ol-coach-pat-meyers-pass-protection-philosophy/
  16. Honestly I am not sure. I have only seen him play a few times. I guess I would say that I do not think they are done. I think they add a mid level free agent and draft some guys.
  17. I think there is a Zero percent chance they draft IOL in the first two rounds. Whether they added Clapp or not. It’s just not their MO. The only way I could see it is of one of those top tackles are sitting around at the end of round two and could potentially relace Brown next year. I think it’s WR, DT, or edge in the first two rounds with a DB being a possibility as well. JMO
  18. I don’t see that happeneing. David Edwards is on a whole nother level than Clapp imo. Clapp is here to add depth and probably compete with Alex Anderson. At least that is my opinion.
  19. One more connection for Clapp is that McDermott’s boy Dave Aranda was at LSU with Clapp.
  20. This to me is a slighty higher level Greg Mancz type signing. Clapp did play a lot last year when Corey Lindsey got hurt.
  21. Yes he played for Brady in New Orleans. Ronald Curry was also on staff at the time
