They have to pay him the next four years? That's news to me! I thought the Bills were saving almost 90 million from 2025-2027. What a dumb move to pay all of that for a guy who is guaranteed to be a top 3 receiver next year! But seriously, his play definitely dipped to subpar in the final 2/3rds of last year. They bite the bullet this year to get better for the future instead of hanging onto a guy who's play is diminishing and was obviously a cancer. It also gives the wr they draft first a chance to get in the field and develop sooner. And then next year they have Diggs money to make a splash and bring in someone who could be a difference maker.

There have been rumors that Aiyuk wants a trade and that the 49ers have been entertaining offers. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10115325-trade-packages-nfl-teams-should-be-offering-for-49ers-wr-brandon-aiyuk

And what if the $300 worth of groceries are already half rotten, and you probably won't even get $25 worth of food out of it? Then you saved $25. Except the Bills save 25 million next year they can spend else where. And the year after, and the year after.

So You Need to Move Diggs..Why the Texans??

GunnerBill is right about Aiyuk's 2024 hit being 14, not 7. And totally agree that Aiyuk would be much better in this offense. Beane could probably make the cap space if the 9ers were willing, but the plan may be to lock up 2 wr's in this draft to have cost controlled players heading into, dare I say, the second half of Josh Allen's career. To me the question is, do they think k they have enough production with Kincaid, Samuels and Shakir to roll the dice on u proven talent vs trading draft capital for a proven commodity.

Do you think Allen feels relief after the Diggs trade?

His salary is 7m this year. They can make room for that. Then the next three seasons we get almost 90mil back from Diggs being off the book.

I was going to take Arnold at 23 with the Vikes, but fell asleep at the wheel this morning.
-
It looks like someone added up YBC not yards... Still, a 48 yard per game average over the final 12 games is no where near #1 wr production.
-
Exactly, we don't know what this means yet until Beane replaces him. There's a number of possibilities that could make the team stronger or weaker. Time will tell.
-
I'd go after Aiyuk. He offers the deep threat that Davis provided with the possession capabilities of Diggs, and is a very good blocker.
-
Plus it's way too early to determine how this trade effects the upcoming season. We have to see what Beane has up his sleeves to procure a #1 wr that effectively replaces Diggs.
-
That would probably be enough to go get Brian Thomas Jr. And maybe Beane would trade up to make sure he lands Mitchell if he views him as having #1 potential. But Beane might value proven talent over potential talent. And I think 28 could get Aiyuk from the 9ers. Would need some magic to make a new contract work with this year's cap. But I'd love Aiyuk as the new #1. Think he'd have close to Diggs production with Josh as his QB. Plus he's a much better blocker than Diggs... It's going to be interesting!

I may have been the last person to find out, unless this is a really elaborate April Fools week joke.

Sorry was in call all morning and got on just after you made the pick... Been catching up on the Diggs trade for the last 45 mins...

I think cb is more of a need than people want to believe. Benford's been injured both of his first two seasons, Douglas is on a one year contract and Elam hasn't developed yet. I'd really love the Bills to pair Thomas with the current wr room, even if that means a trade up. I also think Mitchell has wr 1 potential, and I really like Legette. But I don't think a cb is off the table at 28 if a true lock down down #1 cb is there the the DE's and DT's with solid 1st round grades are gone.

The QB they select #1 overall next year?

I didn't read the rules!

The Vikings are throwing a party in your honor!

With the 11th pick, the Minnesota Vikings select Jayden Daniels, QB LSU... The Denver Broncos, @Big Blitz are on the clock... In the real world, the Vikes will have give up both #1's and possibly a 1st rounder next year in order to snag Daniels. But there may be no chance he gets past Washington at #2.

I really like Kamara too. Bigger and faster than Jerry Hughes. Lots of production.

Watching the Battle Hawks play the Panthers, reminds me of a late season game between two NFL South teams with a combined 3-24 record.
