  1. There are more 2nd round wr's that could be in play here. Ja'Lynn Polk for one.
  2. The SF 1986 draft. Had to look that up. They traded back to 39 and took a DE that flamed out. Then had 12 more picks. One of which became HOF DE Charles Haley, they're second DE selected, at 96. In all, they selected two CB's that started for a decade. They're #2 wr Jon Taylor... A LT that started for a decade. A third DE in addition to Haley that started for a number of years. And Tom Rathman... Like us, they had their franchise QB. But they also already had Jerry Rice... Flip DE and WR--trade back and take 3 cracks at finding two legitimate starting wr's? And then hope to find four more decades long starters? Sign me up! Easier said than done though.
  3. Got offered lots of trade backs:
  4. I don't know about all that. The big "incident" that gets cited is where he supposedly hit a woman. But if you watch the tape, the opposing student body storms the field. And someone gets in his face talking smack and he pushes her away. He definitely didn't punch her.
  5. Simms loves to be a contrarian... But Thomas is my wr 4, and there's enough distance between him and my #5 (Mitchell) that I'd trade up for him... I also really like the idea of pairing a proven receiver (Aiyuk) with 1-2 guys in this draft class... I'll also say this, there's absolutely no one right way for Beane to address wr. There's probably a dozen or more ways to do a good job. And a handful of ways to blow it. Lots of exciting possibilities, imo... I could see Beane pairing Coleman and Burton, or Legette and Baker.
  6. Except the Bills literally had no deep threats for Brady to scheme with. Brian Thomas would give the offense the added dimension of a big bodied flyer on the outside that kills downfield.
  7. You mean the 165 losses between playoff appearances?
  8. In preseason, and he was bad at RT. Which is why I don't think view Van Demark as a swing tackle, but the backup LT.
  9. Do you think they told him he's in competion for a starting position? Or that he's in competion for a backup role?
  10. I think Van Demark looked bad on the right side.
  11. More like this year's Brandon Shell/ Ifedi... A vet RT that hopefully never has to see the field.
  12. They have to pay him the next four years? That's news to me! I thought the Bills were saving almost 90 million from 2025-2027. What a dumb move to pay all of that for a guy who is guaranteed to be a top 3 receiver next year! But seriously, his play definitely dipped to subpar in the final 2/3rds of last year. They bite the bullet this year to get better for the future instead of hanging onto a guy who's play is diminishing and was obviously a cancer. It also gives the wr they draft first a chance to get in the field and develop sooner. And then next year they have Diggs money to make a splash and bring in someone who could be a difference maker.
  13. There have been rumors that Aiyuk wants a trade and that the 49ers have been entertaining offers. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10115325-trade-packages-nfl-teams-should-be-offering-for-49ers-wr-brandon-aiyuk
  14. And what if the $300 worth of groceries are already half rotten, and you probably won't even get $25 worth of food out of it? Then you saved $25. Except the Bills save 25 million next year they can spend else where. And the year after, and the year after.
  15. There's 120 pages and growing dedicated to this topic.
  16. GunnerBill is right about Aiyuk's 2024 hit being 14, not 7. And totally agree that Aiyuk would be much better in this offense. Beane could probably make the cap space if the 9ers were willing, but the plan may be to lock up 2 wr's in this draft to have cost controlled players heading into, dare I say, the second half of Josh Allen's career. To me the question is, do they think k they have enough production with Kincaid, Samuels and Shakir to roll the dice on u proven talent vs trading draft capital for a proven commodity.
  17. His salary is 7m this year. They can make room for that. Then the next three seasons we get almost 90mil back from Diggs being off the book.
  18. I think there's a chance of that too. They would probably see it as drafting another Tre White.
  19. I was going to take Arnold at 23 with the Vikes, but fell asleep at the wheel this morning.
  20. It looks like someone added up YBC not yards... Still, a 48 yard per game average over the final 12 games is no where near #1 wr production.
  21. Exactly, we don't know what this means yet until Beane replaces him. There's a number of possibilities that could make the team stronger or weaker. Time will tell.
  22. I'd go after Aiyuk. He offers the deep threat that Davis provided with the possession capabilities of Diggs, and is a very good blocker.
  23. Plus it's way too early to determine how this trade effects the upcoming season. We have to see what Beane has up his sleeves to procure a #1 wr that effectively replaces Diggs.
