  1. So you’re surprised a player gave a diplomatic answer, did you expect him to throw Daboll under the bus?
  2. Darnold has Le’Veon Bell! And an oline on par with ours, and a supposed genius of a play caller. What’s his excuse?
  3. some Allen criticism is fair, but everyone else in his bracket. Mayfield sucks, Darnold sucks, Rosen sucks
  4. Great post, but as I did in my own post, I wanna defend Allen a bit. In the past, he’s been criticized, very fairly, for trying to do too much, for wanting to be the hero. And now we have a Tyrod comparasion. All I’m saying is I believe that Allen most certainly believes, he can make any throw/play and given the opportunity will attempt too. I don’t think the play calling allows it by and large, against that secondary yesterday, hero ball should have happened, shots should have been taken, they were not
  5. I brought up the O, and hated that playcalling.. but several key 3rd downs, getting to 3rds and giving them up isn't a fatigue issue
  6. There were some drops. And you need to bring more than the front four. The big 3rd down scramble by Wentz where Edmonds got lost was the best example. It was a defense full of people worried about their assignment and not the ball
  7. I see what you're saying about other games, but its always felt last ditch to me. Cincinnati out adjusted us, let Allen off the leash he pulls it out. Miami takes a huge chunk of qtr 3, we get the turnover, open the offense again, very late, and pull it out
  8. I've seen people on here since the loss, blame it on many things, notably Allen and Mcd, but very few have actually pinpointed the source in my estimation, adjustments. Our coaches play their system and their system is never affected by what the other team does well or what its weakness is, or in some cases what our own players are good at. Offense- I actually think all things considered Allen did okay yesterday. The real question is why against a team that can't cover a nose bleed or we in short bunches and not spreading the field? Allen tends to thrive in those scenarios but they're not Dabolls system he didn't scheme to the opponent he never does. Defense- largely the same critique. I don't blame them for coming out at the start with the usual scheme as it's usually effective. But Miami left the blueprint beat the front four and there's nothing else to beat because everyone, is in an assignment scheme. Even an ordinary fan like me knew, they needed to blitz to cover run gaps, and trust the secondary in man. And the adjustment never came. Teams with good OLs will push us around. It just blows my mind how the coaches either can't react to what's happening on the field or are just so set in their systems they can't get out of the them when needed
  9. I can’t believe I have to explain that Jones and Murray played from behind
  10. If it were possible to get him, we should absolutely do it without a second thought. I hate when anyone says we don't need that attitude on the team... character doesn't win titles, so if we could get an elite talent you do it. Building a culture, is coach speak for when you lack talent, nothing more
  11. I don’t see how KC could get pimp slapped.. beat narrowly perhaps but keep this in mind. They never scored any fewer than 26.. in there 4 losses they scored 150 total points. Can they lose a shootout? Absolutely. Will they get pimp slapped? Absolutely not. For the record I think the colts are fast becoming over rated, I won’t crown them because they beat Bill O’Brien. I say KC by 2 scores or more
  12. To take my pats point a bit further.. 5 wins against the afc east this year-41 total points allowed so 8 ppg all other games- 6-5 record 284 total points allowed or just under 26 per game The defense is a mirage
  13. They have improved some the last two years. But have still given up 30 or more points 25 percent of the time. Nobody is afraid of that defense, haven't been for years. Its acknowledged widely that they are carried by Brady. 6 games against the AFC east does not a defense make. Interestingly, this year's D improving can be linked to Brady slowing down and the Pats running more, and not many see them as an sb favorite, because the offense isn't as good
  14. It should also be noted that 8 teams remain in these playoffs. 7 have offensive head coaches and 7 are offense driven while lacking on D to varying degrees. This is not a fluke
  15. The NE/SEA Super Bowl had 52 total points. NE/ATL 62. NE/PHI 74. No one is saying D is meaningless, just secondary by a LOT. Your usage of NE for your argument is proof, they’ve been working around getting torched on D for at least 10 years. 4 games against the jets and Bills might make there overall numbers look better, but most people know they’ve been Swiss cheese on D for years
  16. Exactly. You need EVERY bounce when you are built like that. The Bears have more skill on O than the others and that didn’t even matter. No margin for error, defense is clearly secondary, not meaningless, but secondary by a wide margin. Hopefully our coach starts to get it
  17. The weird thing I don't think anyone has discussed yet how similar Houston is to the bills and how much that showed yesterday. On defense they're completely rwliant on front four pressure and take forever to adjust if at all. Offense is scary similar too a porous online and a reliance on a special quarterback to do everything, they obviously also have an elite receiver but when he was taken away by a very simple defensive scheme the coaches had no clue how to take what was given to them all day long... the Tampa 2 made running lanes for Watson and left the underneath totally wide open. Coutee ran free all day, they figured it out in the 4th. An immensely talented team undermined by awful coaches, hope it wasn't a crystal ball
  18. The easiest way to frame this is actually this. Is there anyone who actually thinks that the Dallas/Baltimore model is sustainable or preferable? Would you be more surprised by them and or Chicago missing next year's playoffs then KC/NO/LAR? None of us has ever said defense is useless, but you are building yourself for one run with no margin for error. Why take this path? Look at the Vikings and Jags
  19. I feel like this is misleading. Dallas won against a team that played to there tempo for some reason instead of letting Wilson win it. And the colts o-line was dominate, as far as their D, even the commentators continually mentioned how it is bend but don’t break, O’Brien is just an awful coach who can’t adjust
  20. Kapernick, Vick, Newton. It’s very possible, though I tend to agree not sustainable. Though to be fair, Newton has gotten worse since toning down the running. Ideal scenario for us is Allen to be a bit like Big Ben.. he’s got the arm and size, just needs to use that mobility to extend plays. Give him a better line and a few weapons and I think we can head in that direction
  21. Their coach plays well to his teams strengths and is aggressive. This goes a long way
  22. Coming into today, his teams point differential in his tenure was -175. He implements the same scheme on D every week, which is completely reliant on front 4 pressure, when it’s not there he cannot adjust. I have no idea how he’s a Jim Johnson disclipe. Offense is the same, keep it close no turnovers. He plays not to lose, like every bad coach
  23. Aaron Hernandez.. that is all
  24. Legit question. Why does no one ever at least place some blame on the OC for this? We tend to call a lot of low percentage intermediate and deep routes, not runs disguised as passes like many offenses, which inflates completion percentage. I’m ok with this, but it definitely accounts for a portion of that number.
