  1. KB wasn’t open, he got undercut, beat to his spot. Zay was likely a miscommunication. He missed Foster. And hit Clay in the hands with a throw very few can make. He will be just fine
  2. The league is moving towards size and mobility at QB. Brady and Rivers and Brees remain old age exceptions to that rule, but pure pocket passing is dying, the game is shifting. As he gets better weapons his running will become less frequent, but it shouldn’t stop
  3. Need to stop looking back 20 years just changes made in the last 3 throw into question whether defense first is sustainable. There will always big individual games like that. But its not the trend. And even last night several questionable calls, poor challenges, and a missed helmet to helmet call, literally the biggest rule change in the offenses favor, were needed for them to squeak out a win
  4. Funniest part is the argument, that they’ve been competitive in all but two games. They’ve gotten blown out 5 times, guys can’t even count lol
  5. He also didn’t score a TD for a month. And put up 6 against NE. It’s been more bad than good. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves True. Doesn’t change the mismanagement
  6. It’s gotta be Allen. Nothing can be accomplished by starting Barkley
  7. I mean I could have done a thread about how beating Josh McCown validates the process, but that would be reactionary. Which fans never are
  8. I KNOW they cut Mccarron, named Peterman the starter, replaced him after one half, and left him as the only backup for weeks. Those things I know. And I know he’s still on the roster, though let’s hope that changes tomm
  9. Thought he did some good things to cross up their D. Best game he has called to date. It was the jets though, let’s see if he can string it together
  10. It’s a nice win, feels good to have one. Did many good things, but also something interesting came to light I think. This is not a tank and it never was. A QB came right off the street, limited playbook and played a competent game. Easy opponent sure, but competent nonetheless. Blaming the talent holds a little less weight now To me it’s proof that they were attempting to win all along and honestly believed, first that Mccarron couldn’t, then that Peterman could, then Anderson. Didn’t see fit to retain or acquire a true no 2 QB behind Allen at a minimum. Not because they weren’t trying to win, but because they honestly thought they had one. So I still worry about how they will handle the rest of the offense. Cross your fingers
  11. Everybody making defense arguments I think are just missing how much the league has titled towards offense, with the rules in the last 2-3 years. And it’s not about to swing back. Take that 2007 Giants-Pats SB. The front four made Brady nervous, hit him just after throws, now those are 15 yard flags. Guys like Bradshaw, Jacobs, Manningham, made impacts, slower, physical runners and receivers. Modern NFL is all spacing and speed, those guys and that style are relics now. NE understands this, cut Blount, relay on smaller quicker guys like White, get them in space and the already hamstrung defenses can do little. Evolution is needed at OBD, and I don’t see anything about McDermott or his coaching, staff, player, or in game decisions, suggesting it’s coming
  12. It is 100 percent a scheme league. Great schemes bring out your players talents to their maximum. The players themselves are even less relevant than most believe. Goff, a guy who looked like a bust, surrounded by a bunch of other guys who looked similar now light up the league. Alex Smith put up his best numbers, in a great scheme, and is winning games now with no weapons due to schemes. Brees, was a bust, scheme change, and the personell around him has never mattered. Brady, teamattes constantly changing has never mattered. I could go on with lesser names like Dalton or Foles. You can scheme people open with short safe throws, which opens up everything else. But mcd thinks it’s the 80s and cannot evolve
  13. I like Josh and think he will be very good. But in reference to these guys, gimme Haskins all day, lot of Big Ben traits. Big but mobile enough to buy time in the pocket. Very accurate short and intermediate, perfect fit for the modern NFL
  14. They won’t have trouble signing them, but their track record shows they will very likely sign the wrong ones, for too much $, while we try to ground and pound in the air raid era
  15. Wings lot definitely. 3964 California rd. Unlimited burgers and dogs and super easy out
  16. Was never a good playcaller, not in 2012, the last time he called plays or at anytime before. Good play designers maximize talent. If you gave Chan Gailey this exact team, he could get it to 20 ppg. So could Shanahan, Mcvay, Reid, Payton. We need to search their staffs for coaches, it’s where the league is going, no sign of slowing down, let’s catch up for once
  17. I’m just gonna put it like this, at least 8 players and the oc need replacing, you cannot do that in one year, which means next year won’t be good either. In a best case scenario you get a couple of decent replacements. This is mind, Mcbeane will never survive next year, so why let the guys who gutted it, and actually made numerous failed attempts with known commodities to rebuild it, and failed, why hand them the keys? It’s an offensive league, switch now, this offseason is roster critical, don’t let these offensively dense guys handle it
  18. Easy really, in this offensive league we need an offense first coach, we likely can’t get the best candidate, but pull the best guy we can from either KC/LA/NO to begin with We also need better eyes for offensive talent, those who make the talent argument fail to acknowledge the moves made not with an eye toward a rebuild that have failed, KB/Zay/Coleman/Kerley. And the handling of McCarron to get us where we currently stand. Bringing in those guys wasn’t part of a tank, it’s pure ineptitude. And McDermott specifically, whiffing HARD twice on OC, considerably behind the times on Dennison and then hires a guy who has called plays one time since 2012, and has a horrid track record when he does. It isn’t nearly as much the talent as it is this. The busts mentioned above would be fine in the right play designers hands. You can scheme to get open in this Swiss cheese league, unless you are dense and inept. Give Chan Gailey his playsheet and we win last night. So in summary what I want is modern offense, it’s all that matters. The model they are building stopped working at least 3 years ago, and the rules keep putting it further in the rear view
  19. Yes is correct. Chan Gailey did so, right here in Buffalo
  20. I gave up my seasons because I was out of work early in the year so I appreciate the seats
  21. Two 40 catch years is impact? And CJ wasn’t a all the time injuried Guy, he just wasn’t good, even under Sean Payton. Freddy was the best player we had, but was still lacking speed in an increasingly faster league. Gailey made them all way better than they were. Hence the zero impact anywhere else. Daboll can’t do this, even though this team might have better talent. Especially when Allen is in
  22. Every single member of that offense washed out of the NFL, never made even a slight impact anywhere else, except for Fitz, once again under Gailey. Gailey implemented a modern offense capable of producing despite severely deciefint talent. You don’t think it was deficient because Gailey made it look way better than it had any right to be, even under rules that weren’t as soft as now. Daboll can’t do this
  23. Chan Gailey got all kinds of points from the same level of talent in a less wide open league
  24. To those with the eagles D arguement. Note that they gave up 24 or more points 9 times last regular season. The definition for good defense is changing rapidly, as I suspect ppg to just continue climbing everywhere. They certainly weren't the 2000 ravens.. because this isn't 2000
  25. Peterman is the worst QB of my lifetime. Whoever you believe me to be, I certainly am not
