  1. Gugny you got me thinking about Gronk some and the Patriots in general. You know how I feel about the hit and all so I'll spare you that. The Patriots (Gronk) are hardcore about winning. So hardcore that getting picked off by a rookie in a game you basically won hurts your ego enough to over react like he did. That you simply cannot afford one bad play as a Patriot. The guy was having a great game had no reason to be angry over one play.... I started wondering if Gronk acted the way he did not because he's just a douchebag but maybe it was the standards and expectations of the team he plays for. I'm not trying to justify what happened to anyone reading this. I'm just looking for deeper meaning. What if that's the sacrifice you make to have a championship team. You expect no mistakes. Your standards are higher then normal. That every step you take is on eggshells. Then when you win you get guys with big egos. That getting picked off by a rookie is so embarrassing that you just can't simply let it go. That one bad play will cause you to snap. It might just be a thought experiment. That if you hold everybody to that high of a standard even though the play didn't matter it still will be scrutinized by the evil master mind head coach. That if we want to become a repeat championship team in Buffalo you might just get a guy who over reacts over one bad play in a game that is already won. I guess in a strange way I look at BB as the reason it went down the way it did. That publicly he acts disgusted but in private hes praising him like the shady Sensai in the Karate Kid. It could be that the 100 good plays don't matter but the one bad play you made does in Patriot land and that might cause people to act up sometimes. Just food for thought.
  2. I got my entertainment from the team this year. I think most people went in with low expectations. I think we all felt a bit jaded when 5-2 went straight downhill. Coach made some bold moves with the roster. Even starting a rookie QB to see if he could get the offense clicking. In the end we landed in about the same area in the win loss category. The only difference is next year they have more rescource available to to build a team. Rescource they will have because they sacrificed some this year. I still watch the games cheer my team on when they do good and join in the disappointment when they lose. My year was over when they lost to the Jets. I didn't see them making the playoffs getting stomped so hard. Even if the defense didn't regress some for that 3 game stretch I would of always carried doubt about the offense. I am already on to next year but I'll still view every game and cheer and feel disappointed. This is my team and always will be. I'll be here through every success and blunder. I have hope for the new regime and the future but I'm realistic. I'm actually one of those guys that would rather have average then complete suck.
  3. My real question is does it matter? I mean in the sense of what Taylor or Peterman can do for this season. At least that's how I feel. You start Peterman if you think he still has a shot at the NFL. You do this knowing it will most likely look ugly but maybe the light turns on and he flashes a bunch. You start Taylor just to not look as bad as it looked the last time you put Peterman in. You put Taylor in because he's your safety net. We are not making the playoffs. You have to see what pieces matter to you moving into next year. I don't know who I would start. I'd start Peterman just for entertainment value and you won't get many chances to see him in a live game and that could be valuable if you still think he has a shot.
  4. You say this as a joke but I could see it happening. Not that I think it's very likely. If I couldn't get the guy I absolutely wanted I could see repositioning to next year to absolutely be able to get who ever they want. It all depends on mindset of this new staff. Do they feel pressured to win now or not. If I was a GM in his position I would only put my career on the line and trade up for the person I want. I wouldn't settle for the next best. People pounding the table for a QB in a year that I keep hearing we can't grab one of the top 2 guys. I don't like that mindset. If the GM picks a bust like E.j. Manuel he's done for, it would only be a matter of time. I want the #1 or #2 guy or I wouldn't sacrifice my capital. That's just my mindset. I would be picking the face of the franchise and the guy all the fans put hopes and dreams into. I absolutely could not except failure on a trade up let alone my high picks in general. Its easy for people to say he needs to do what they want. They don't have to deal with the consequences of a failure. They just get the benefits if it works out. Like I said many times. If you trade up to pick a QB you better strike gold. All the people who want a trade up are fickle and would turn on the GM faster then you can say bust.
  5. Oh I'm with you I'm pumped. I'm really hoping we have the Coach and GM combo we have needed. Reguardless of whatever they do I will support it. I'm trying to stay positive about it all until it's impossible for me to do so. I'm sure come draft time all the reservations I have now won't exist. I'll be clamoring for that QB with everyone.
  6. It's a tough call. You trade up land the pick and your a genius and everyone loves you. If you trade up for a bust then it's a stain and we forever debate what could of been. I think this year's draft defines the GM and reguardless what he chooses it has to be right. This is his first draft here for Buffalo and a lot is riding on it including his job. I'm sure the decision is a heavy one and I don't think the GM wants to make a mistake.
  7. I didn't mind the play. It's not a score at that point changes the outcome. Why not let the rook take shots? If we ran and got stuffed people would of wanted a pass. Yes it didn't work out but I could see the reason. Keep testing that kid I like it. Why waste a chance to test the kid? Let him get a passing touch down and get confident. Dennison gets balls when he has a QB he's confident in. It looked like that to me anyway.
  8. I'm concerned by the entire offence. I may not be smart enough to pinpoint details but it's obvious we have low to no production on that side of the ball. I don't want a conservative offence that just wants to hang around I hope they abandon that philosophy. I want long calculated sustained drives for touchdowns. I want to feel like the offense has a potential to score every time they hit the field. I wanna be feared not a joke. I wanna be up by 21 points still going for the throat like I'm down 21 points. I have no particular wish. I hope they do everything they can to fix the hot mess that is the offence.
  9. Hopefully they strike gold if they trade up. If not it will get ugly for them. Take risk with the understanding it's your feet to the fire if it fails. It's easy to say just go do it when it's not your GM job to lose.
  10. I would like playoffs. I just don't think it's happening this year and have not since the Jets game.
  11. All I wanted for Christmas was a Tre White interception on Tom Brady. I knew it would have been ruined some how. Thanks Tre you delivered.
  12. If Gronk had attacked Tre repeatedly I could see it being criminal. I think in the game of football it might be real difficult to get it that far off a cheap shot. Not that I am saying it can't happen.
  13. The guy is a beast. He dominated. Yes he was getting mauled. I think people are just venting feelings a lot like Gronk was venting his. It's to be expected I think that people would react strongly. He didn't need to do what he did because it wasn't gonna effect the outcome. Self control is what's needed and what's expected I imagine at that level in football and it wasn't just a little extra pushing or jaberjaw. Take out the names of the players and teams. Whatever happens to Gronk should be the same to anyone who would do the same as he did. It could be people are over reacting bring up actual criminal charges and such but some if that is just anger over the incident. I don't really care what happens to him punishment wise just don't send the message that it's ok to do something like that or it's a minor thing. That's the point your stressing to people not to over react. That's this is NFL and stuff happens. That would be my message to Gronk. Sometimes flags don't go your way and plays get made. You have to be in control of your emotions. A lot of money on the line to act before you think.
  14. I thought at this time in history people were striving for an equality. So I'd want the same equal treatment if attacked then everyone else. Just pointless talking points to deflect blame of his favorite player.
  15. Not the popular opinion but I agree. Two wrongs don't make it right. Don't lower yourself to Gronks level yadda yadda but the bills players were not even showing any emotion so I get the other sides feelings.
  16. Well he said Tyrod was the starting quarterback before....
  17. I don't know why people want to ruin the fun of all the outrage. It was a dirty hit and it's being called out. Don't worry your best friend Gronk won't be arrested. People just venting about a guy who did a real dirty thing. I think out of all the places in the world you would understand this is a Bills message board and maybe defending your man Gronk and being a fanboy isn't a real great idea in this place. Let people vent while you stroke your Gronk poster at home. Like you should be surprised at the reaction a dirty hit like that on a Bills player would get here. Sorry you are more worried about defending Gronk then Tre White our amazing draft pick.
  18. I think this is just a troll article. It's about as funny as joking about cancer.

  21. Can you provide a link to those videos? I want to see far worse dirty hits.
  22. I think you consider the severity of the action. Put it on a scale. Out of everything you could possibly do wrong after a play were does it rank in your mind? Could you think of a worse thing a player can do? Then you let the punishment fit the crime. There's a difference between a speeding ticket and committing murder. You let the punishment equal the severity of the action or you send the wrong message. It looked to me he had the intent to hurt the dude. It wasn't a welcome to the NFL love tap. It was ok you intercepted a ball thrown to me I am going to hurt you after the play. That's a calculated thought out move to hurt some one who made a play on you.
  23. So if you put yourself in Tre White shoes I'm assuming you tell everyone it's not a big deal and it's just the NFL?
  24. I think getting a QB is the safe pick. I just wouldn't like to be forced to take a QB out of desperation. Hopefully the Bills can get to a favorable spot and we are not picking at scraps just because we still hungry. It would be awesome to not squander good defensive performances anymore. You need to strike gold on this pick. If you trade up you need to hit or it's a stain.
  25. Well I won't deny that it might be a direction I still would go potentially. I think Tyrod is a playmaker. I still not sold that he's trash. He played hurt all game I respect him a lot. I wouldn't be hurt if they did build the offense around him only if it made sense because you might not be able to grab one of the top 3 QBs or have to spend to much to get it. I know one thing. If the offence produces we win today. Do whatever you have to. It needs to be fixed.
