  1. I am fully on board with going heavy on OL and DL in the draft. I don't think the people who want a QB are fools. Just people with wishful thinking. I think it's foolish to think you pick a QB and instantly the guys an elite franchise quarterback. I'm not in favor of trading up unless you can get into the #1 or #2 spot. 1.Draft a QB. 2.????? 3. Super Bowl!!!!
  2. I would say borderline playoff team. It feels like easy playoff team is a bit strong of a statement in my opinion. We had those guys and I didn't see us make the playoffs with them. I liked Darby but Tre White is also nice. I'll agree that moving Darius hurt us but that was a money move. I can understand it if they use rescource efficiently. Sammy I won't comment on because I am not debating potential. I think it's to early to know if SM will pass or fail. Even after the moves we had a 5-2 start. I know that doesn't mean much now. I don't see a very big difference between this year and last. It was the same feeling as last year maybe if we win some games we could possibly maybe sneak in at wildcard. Still seem to be hovering around 500. They have accumulated rescource by sacrifice and it hurts now. It didn't seem to hurt as bad as people make it out to be. I have to give the benefit of the doubt until the moves they made become more clear in the next year.
  3. I honestly don't assume it. It's just something I said so it wasn't used as a counter point to the one I was attempting to make. Obviously in that situation I let Tyrod fire some shots if I was in charge.
  4. My point wasn't about winning or losing as much as stradegy. Tyrod may not be a lot of things but from most accounts he doesn't turn the ball over. Would taking shots to secure the game be any less risky than punting it back to your opponent with plenty of time to operate? Chances are the passes would of been incomplete but that really wasn't my point either. If your stradegy is a good one I imagine you would rather put the game away sooner then later. We basically just said screw it punt it away because we are to timid. We won the game but if it had ended in a loss that would of been a strong talking point. If this is the stradegy moving forward I just have a strong feeling it's going to cost us wins in the future.
  5. I try to stay positive about the team with an understanding that this team is going through several changes. Out of everything that happened this year that was the only situation that left me disgusted. I might just be reading to much into it but that was the only thing that actually made me lose some hope for the next year.
  6. I think the end of the Chiefs game told me all I needed to know. You posses the ball and with a few minutes remaining in the game you are holding on to a slipping lead. At that point you are in control. You can grind clock to leave no time if your forced to punt or you can secure a victory if your aggressive and score a touchdown. Instead it was decided to just be conservative and get stuffed on 3 runs only taking 12 seconds off the clock. You could of at least attempted to be serious and take shots to move the chains with a QB known for not turning the ball over. You gave the Chiefs a chance to come back and win the game. That's all it took for me. It's not just a certain player but a lack of balls in a philosophy. You wanna be playoff caliber you don't just play to win. You play to dominate and embarrass the opposition. You don't make it to the big show just meeting expectations. It's hard to look mean and serious when you tuck tail and run or curl up in a ball and just take hits.
  7. I was just kinda hoping we don't get blown out and look pathetic. Was thinking maybe we could score enough in garbage time to make the game look closer then it was. If I'm really lucky we score first and actually lead in the game once. Have to crawl before you walk.
  8. The problem I have with the Bills being conservative is that the runs get stuffed and the passes are short. They don't score and then give the opponents the ball with plenty of time to score. I have not seen them grind out the clock and sustain drives when playing conservative with a lead at the end of a game. It's just a quick 3 stuffed runs and a punt and asking your defense to create more stops then they should have to. This is a game they most likely lose so I agree they play like they down 21 points the entire game. Getting stuffed 3 times in a row for no gain isn't conservative football. I don't know what you call it. It's just bad all day. Might as well just punt on first down.
  9. I can agree with a lot you said. In fact when Tyrod got benched I felt the same. I felt the defense was the reason we won and even the turn overs they produced we're not capitalized. In the game against the Chiefs the bills got the ball tword the end with a chance to bleed clock and maybe score. Instead they decided to run 3 times and get stuffed only taking 12 seconds of the clock. The only thing I think this team "needs" is to never be like that again. You can't hand the ball back and give opponents another chance when you have the opportunity to take the game out of reach and steal all the time left. The difference is how we come to the conclusion of why this offence has struggled. It sounds like you think Taylor is the weak link and I don't think it all rest on him. I think it's a lack of aggression in offensive philosophy as a whole.
  10. Well I always want the best outcome in every situation. The team is going through a lot of change. You have to do what you can to establish your place as Head Coach of a team. I can only trust the process. I have no other choice. I think what is clear to me is the new coach and general manager have a direction with the team. They sacrificed for the future and focused on defense. They just kept pieces on offense to keep it entertaining. At 5-2 he looks golden so they spend picks to get a wide receiver for Tyrod and make a push. The defense implodes and Tyrod doesn't use new wide receiver and is benched. Then he goes with Nate and he uses him once and injury happens. I looks to me like a long term planning and win now direction. I give them credit for all the moves and still ending up looking good. I didn't like the defensive collapse but they were basically winning all the games.
  11. I can't explain it but I had a strange feeling about the team moving on from Shady. I love shady but I get a feeling they want a large powerfull back that can just push forward. It might just be because I want that as well. Shady is a pro and works hard. So I'm not negative on him at all. I like elusive running backs I just rather have a guy that can power through then a guy that has to dance to get free and risk being caught behind the line.
  12. I hate the Patriots. I wouldn't hate them as much if they were not always top in the division. I wouldn't hate them as much if they were not always a lock to win games and win Superbowls. I could respect what they have done but I'm a Bills fan so I can't. I don't think we can beat them now. Beating the Patriots every year has to be a focus. When we are competitive with the Patriots for the division every year then you know we finally have a playoff caliber team. You want playoffs you have to beat the Patriots. It should be on wristbands worn all year long.
  13. Thanks I was looking through a dictionary and was failing hard. Thanks for stepping in.
  14. I think many people said it was historic. Nate's is historic!!!
  15. It doesn't bother me. I do agree that it's kinda pointless on a good play that doesn't really effect the outcome. Like you just make a game changing play that brought your team from losing to winning. Then it looks good. When you make a good play but your team's still down by multiple scores it kinda looks dopey to celebrate like you just won the game. I think it comes down to time and place to celebrate. So I halfway agree with the op. I think celebration can be over done and misplaced but I'm not against it.
  16. I have mixed feelings about Tyrod. I'm neutral on him. I've cheered his good plays and I grumbled at the lack of production on offense in games. I agree with points on both sides of the great Tyrod debate. I do see value in him. He offers some stability to a very unstable environment. I want him to over come his hurdles and silence his doubters. Sadly he was unable to really take that next step this year. Although I wouldn't put the blame all on him for all his struggles. I think outside factors attribute to that as well. I'll always wonder the real Truth about Tyrod when he leaves the building for the last time. How much was the lack of offensive production was him compared to those around him. Im starting to think it was the people around him bringing him down. I'm a fan of Tyrod. Even after he leaves the team I'll keep an eye out to see if he ever does overcome those hurtles and silence his doubters. I'm just a bigger fan of the Bills so I want the entire team to be competitive in every game and if that takes moving on then I understand but don't necessarily agree.
  17. Well sure Belichick has much more of a foundation and track record to stand on. He can make bad moves without being questioned. I don't think he can do any blatant racist thing and not have consequences at this moment in time. I think when you win you have more power. Each ring he owns gives him more power and respect and he always wants more. A true lord of the rings. I do think making it a racial issue was in poor taste because it would take a lot of stretching to come to a conclusion that it was based on race at all.
  18. What I can't figure out is what's really bothering you. The agenda behind the post. I'm split between two things. You are riled up about the current climate with race relations or if your just mad because we have team celebrations when the big boy of the NFL doesn't allow it and you wish coach would tighten up.
  19. Not to mention Bill Belichick walks on water after winning so much and it's part of the reason he can command so much control
  20. It's only racist if he doesn't allow the celebration from only a certain race of player. At this point and time everything is racist.
  21. My only point is that he works with what he has and that has been almost good enough for a sniff of the playoffs. A few games roll his way past two years and boom now he's everyones hero. I'm open minded to criticism of him but just wish people could see he's keeping it interesting with so many things to factor in.
  22. I'd say he was a few games short of a playoffs with that cast. I don't know if you call it stacked with elite.
