Longtime NFL Scout Says Taylor Is "Below Average QB"
Rocbillsfan1 replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
According to WGR he's a franchise QB and none of us what we are talking about with Peterman. This is Lossman vs Edwards all over again. I remember Edwards rookie year and in preseason JP Lossman was struggling big time couldn't read a defense to save his life and get the ball out of his hands, but everyone remembered how great his deep ball was just like Tyrod and how he could run great just like Tyrod. JP was the superior athlete he just had to learn the game better even though he had been in the league for years at that point. Edwards goes in and just takes what the defense gives him and starts running the offense and spreading the ball out all over the place and it was clear as day to me then and its clear as day to me now. For the system we are forcing Tyrod to be in there is no way he is going to succeed and we need a change of QB for a guy that has showed some promise and has a much higher ceiling then Tyrod as a prospect playing in this type of system. -

No we shipped out the only big bodied DT we had in the middle of a playoff run for nothing this year because "process" -
Every Nate Peterman throw from the Saints game

There is no way they bring Tyrod back if he plays like this. He doesn't even fit the type of system Dennison wants to run which is why it's so painfully obvious that they need to make a change if he goes out and has another stinker next week. The only thing that makes me hesitant about switching the following week is you are still on the road and playing the chiefs. Maybe they wait until they come home to put in Peterman but by that time it might be to little too late and another great opportunity to make the playoffs is flushed down the drain. -
Mike Zimmer to name starting QB
Rocbillsfan1 replied to CommonCents's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
this reminds me when McCown was winning games for the Bears and setting records for huge games back to back and he rattled off like 4 or 5 wins and Cutler came back and the coach put him back in and he stunk. Coaches are stupid. -
Blame Dennison if You Want, But it's Not the System
Rocbillsfan1 replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's both of their problems. How can you not see that if your Dennison Tyrod is not going to be able to run your type of offense. I think his offense could work and would actually run smoother with Peterman because he's better suited for this type of offense. What I don't get is if you are going to play Tyrod Taylor for the year you have to scheme the offense around what he can do. You have to look at the tape of the last two years and use the bulk of that. Sure sprinkle in some new stuff but you have to let this guy use his legs whether that means play action, bootlegs, moving the pocket, having the zone read option back in place where he can run or pass. You have to revert this offense into a more college type of style. You cannot have it both ways of just forcing this guy into your style. Everyone can see that Tyrod is never going to be able to be a normal qb that can drop back go through his reads and get the ball out fast and on target. He simply doesn't have it in him and is why three years into starting and seven years in the league he's never thrown for over 300 yards in a winning game and I believe has had two wide receivers with over 100 yards in a single game. There is a reason why this guy is running every great WR out of this city. -
Anyone watch tyrods post game?

Sounds like both are terrible at evaluating QBs and figuring out a winning sytem in the NFL. -
kelso and murphy were on the radio saying this was Shaq's best game. I was like WTF, the Bills dline looked like a dumpster fire and gave up 300 yards rushing and he had no pressures on Drew Breese. This was his best game?
-
I guess all the players on offense are crap. I'm sure Drew Brees would hate playing with McCoy, Benjamin, Matthews, Clay, Thompson, Holmes not to mention even when we had Hogan, Woods, Watkins, Goodwin. The guy can't play QB. He will run out every WR who comes here and expects to play the position of WR
-
dude please get a clue, I'm not talking about the one play. I'm talking about the two and a half years where this guy refuses to throw the ball to talented wide receivers and tight ends. There is a reason he has only thrown for 1 300 yard game in his life and he's been in the league for what seven years now? He should know how to read a defense and get the ball out of his hands which he refuses to do. Case Keenum was an undrafted player and a third string QB who just threw for 304 and 4tds today. And you think Tyrod is a franchise QB?
-
I love how WGR tried to cover for Taylor today when talking about this like o well they aren't on the same page yet. It had nothing to do with them being on the same page it had to do with Tyrod throwing way over the head of a 6'5 receiver running open down the sideline into the endzone. On the next one he was open again and Tyrod threw behind him. Tyrod is a horribly inaccurate passer unless he is out of the pocket and throwing to a completely wide open receiver.

You aren't seeing this properly. I agree that it was good to let Gilmore go. He wasn't worth the money. I understand trading Watkins and Darby because you got actual players back that are good at their position. Dumping Darues for nothing in the middle of the season when you don't have a replacement is a huge !@#$ up when you are trying to make the playoffs for the first time in 17 years. -
Beane better find a QB. It's what this franchise has failed to do for the last twenty years now. I'm tired of other teams backups being the answer.
-
Enough of the excusses for Tyrod believers. This guy has had enough talent around him that it is a mockery that in today's NFL he has only thrown for over 300 yards once and it was a loss. This guy is fools gold and needs to go ASAP.

I'm not arguing with anybody who is upset with how Dareus has preformed and I wouldn't blame you for wanting to dump him in the offseason that way you can make plans to replace him. There is 0 good reason for dumping him halfway through the season without having a clear cut replacement. Which gets to my earlier point about McBeane thinking the replacement was already on the team. I liked all the other trades they have made but in this case all you did was actively hurt your team for this year's playoff push. All the other deals have involved getting productive players backs and picks. This was just an ego trip that could have waited until the offseason. -
I give Tyrod one more shot in LA and if he stinks it up his career here should be over.

No he really isn't a slighty above avg qb. He is a terrible QB. He is a great athlete that under the right system can help a team win some games. He was in an almost perfect situation the last two years with the type of offense the Bills tried to run but still couldn't get it done. Now we are trying to watch him be a QB and it shows, he is awful. This guy is one of the worst QBs I've ever seen trying to get through NFL progressions, setting his feet and throwing on time or throwing to people before the receiver makes a break. If his first read isn't wide open he just pats the ball and then waits to run around. He holds the ball longer than any QB in the league because he's not a real QB. His only good plays are just him playing backyard football and making plays outside the pocket but that's about it.

They traded Dareus in order to get rid of his contract. There was zero reason to do this in the middle of a playoff run. Yes he wasn't living up to his contract but it's hard to say that he was playing awful, he just was playing like an average DLman which made everyone mad. Add up his offield troubles and I get whey you want to get rid of him in the offseason, but it was a 100% mistake to get rid of this player in the middle of the year. This leads me to believe that McBeane made a huge error in talent assestment and thought the other guys on the line could just come in and carry the load and they have shown to be absolutely garbage the last two weeks. This scares me about him evaluating othe positions in the future. -
Let's not overreact to 1 bad game from Tyrod when the entire team played like hot garbage. when has tyrod ever really had a great game? His best game as a passer came last year against the Dolphins in a loss where he finally threw for more than 300 yards which was the only time in his career. The dude is a terrible QB that can win some games making some plays and relying on his D and running game to go out and win games. They have won in spite of Tyrod not because of him.
