Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?
ColoradoBills replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
LOL I know. That is why i said it's stupid. They are counting the other picks in the trade that got the 2nd rounder in the Sammy trade. It's stupid. While they are at it why not add the 2,3 or more (LOL) 1st rounders we used to draft Watkins! -

Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

https://www.prosportstransactions.com/football/DraftTrades/Years/2018.htm FWIW this is where I look for old trades. Traded • 2018 first round pick (#12-Vita Vea) • 2018 sixth round pick (#187-Ray-Ray McCloud) to Bills for • Cordy Glenn • 2018 first round pick (#21-Billy Price) • 2018 fifth round pick (#158-Andrew Brown) on 2018-03-14 -
Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?
ColoradoBills replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is kind of what I'm saying. Bills used 2 more picks bundled with the Cordy Glenn trade and one other pick to get the Watkins pick. What isn't said is all the picks and E.J. Gaines in return. It seems a little skewed in the way they talk about it. -
Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

It seems to me that is true for the Bills total cost to get Josh. But the 2 players have to Cordy Glenn and Sammy Watkins. If that is what they are doing then the return to Buffalo would be Josh Allen PLUS all the residuals in the Cordy, Watkins and the Tampa trades. Right? -
He is over 250 pounds so yes he is a bit of a tweener. He can be called up from the PS for 2 weeks. That could be enough to get Knox back after the bye. Warring could get a one week call up if necessary. I don't think another TE from outside will be coming if Knox's recovery is looking good before the Miami game.

Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?

I hear you BUT I have to say that when Teller was drafted Juan Castillo was the OL coach. We don't know what he did with the rookie and it's hard to blame Bobby Johnson for missing his talent when he had a lot of work to do when he came to the Bills in 2019. I don't think that this one "miss" is endemic of a negative condition of the Bills OL evaluations. The OL needs work no doubt but it is way ahead of what is was in 2017-2018. I see more changes coming for the OL next year. -
report- Empire State Development downtown stadium proposal
ColoradoBills replied to loyal2dagame's topic in The Stadium Wall
It also seems to me that the stadium in the 1st ward could anchor the "playground" area of Buffalo and be an option to the true downtown area. Stadium, Auditorium, Casino, Riverworks, the Buffalo River and Canalside not too far away. The triangle area of South Park, Louisiana and Ohio St is just begging for a redevelopment centered on a "fun zone" for Buffalo. IMO. https://www.google.com/maps/@42.8718878,-78.8683064,16.25z -

Bronco's winning the first 3 games against bad teams was almost cruel to the fans out here in Colorado! -

It was a lengthwise crack in the 4th Metacarpal. We also made the K-wires in the Monument, CO plant I worked most of my life in. No pain in the hand but I broke a large number of ribs (car accident) that still gives me some pain 20+ years later. -
Nope. Dr. recommended leaving them in. It's been 20 years now with no issues. When I had the surgery I was playing a lot of guitar back then (finger board hand) and he told me no "physical therapy" could be better than that. He had me playing the next week. Side note: My company manufactured the screws and my best friend was the lead man for the area that made those particular screws! I told him they better work after the surgery and they did. LOL.

Morris looked pretty good in PS but not sure how his blocking was. It looked to me like he could of used to put a few pounds on his frame. I'm thinking he gets the call up for the Miami game.

Beane's Draft Picks: Is Allen His Only Success?
ColoradoBills replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall
After McDermott got the HC job back in early 2017 I believe there was already a "gentlemen's agreement" that Beane would be the eventual GM. There was a lot of speculation about this right after the Beane hire. I believe there was "conversations" between McDermott and Beane about the 2017 FA and the draft. I got no real evidence I just think that is what happened. Beane got 'spurned" from taking over the GM job during the whole Gettleman/Hurney/Beane thing and I believe he was done with Carolina. When Gettleman didn't get fired (he did a few months later only to have Hurney take over) he was already going to look for a new job. McDermott had to know all of this and they became a team as soon as Sean got the HC job. Hurney knew he f'd up and since has been a good friend with Beane thus the closeness between the two of them. Footnote: Gettleman went to the NYG in 2018 and has ruined the team since his return. -
I find it a little interesting working out so many WRs. 6 WR on main roster, Stevenson on IR (probably able to move onto the main roster) and Hodgins and Gentry on PS. Right now it seems all 9 are healthy. Probably just looking to upgrade from someone like Gentry or just looking for some guys in case needed later in the year.

Do you know if he had the surgery today like you said earlier?

penalties on kick returns - out of control
ColoradoBills replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. It started when "blocking in the back" replaced clipping. Clips were illegal only below the waist. Some teams are much more disciplined than others in this regard. But yes it is called a lot but it's because the players are doing it. The holds have always been there on these plays. IMO. -

Thanks Promo. The image of the "death march" in my minds eye is too funny. I know 716 you are not a supporter of the downtown site and have used this no "benefit to the local economy" countless times. Having fans who come to a teams away game OR Bills fans flying in for the game is a significant number that the downtown would better serve than OP site. That's just a fact. As others have said many "better off financially" fans would skip tailgating. I know I would. I would expect the amount of people not tailgating would increase exponentially as the weather got worse. One other thing to consider is the actual building of the stadium. Contractors and construction crews are not all from the area and they will need hotels and restaurants when they stay in Buffalo. They will be much better served downtown than in OP. I still think the stadium (if built downtown) needs to be in the Father Conway Park across the river from Riverworks and the parking lots in the current abandoned Perry Projects RIGHT NEXT to the 190. That's where the parking lots should be. Stadium kitty corner in the park. -

I don't think it's got anything to do with the refs. It's the nature of the play setup. Guys running hard and fast in the open field and then a sudden turn as the returner moves by. It has really hurt the filed position (especially on punts) for the Bills this year and last night it took points off the board on a KR. It is a problem that Farwell has to get cleaned up. After the 2nd Titans drive in the 1st was stopped McKenzie had a punt return to almost midfield called back on 2 flags on the PR team. It's a lot of little things that can result in a win or a loss.
