  1. I totally agree that the OL is key to the Bills success. Giving Josh another second before he needs to move or decide to run would be awesome. I'm not saying the Bills don't need great WRs BUT giving Josh time will make average receivers look good. An elite OL makes the running game and screen passes work with cheap RBs too.
  2. Exactly. Per Josh Allen's current contract he is scheduled to make an average of $43M from 2026 thru 2028. Those years will be such a bargain. With Josh's contract all this "window" stuff concerning a QB contract will not really materialize. The Darek Carr's of the NFL will be signing for over $60M at a minimum in those years.
  3. These Chiefs comments never get old.
  4. What are you doing? You are going to give @muppy a heart attack!
  5. My question would be, "does the single bye team in each conference necessarily equate to the BEST team in each conference"? If the answer is no, then why do these 2 teams get the bye in the first place? It's always been a bit of a debate, but I think the 7 playoff team/17 game schedule only compounds the issue.
  6. As to point #1. I am not a fan of only one "bye" team at all. You pointed out one of the main reasons. The schedule already pits top conference teams to play each other every year. The 17th game adds to that with another non-conference ranked games. Every year there will be a team that just draws a much easier schedule to give them a much better chance to draw the one bye. Point #2 is a little more tricky. It can and has happened in the old playoff formula but just the mere fact of adding another playoff team gives more of a chance for a lower seeded team to win a game they probably should of lost. Football is one and out and not a "series" like in other major sports. I think it waters down the whole process. I know I'm in the minority here, but I thought the old 6 team playoff formula was as good as it could get. All this is caused by attempting to get another team in the mix with the 7 team scenario. Adding a 17th or even an 18 game schedule is a whole other question. The longer season can be debated but it seems they could of done that with still maintaining the 6 team playoff scenario. At least that is how I see it.
  7. Well Bills fans, here's hoping the AFCCG is in Buffalo this coming season and we go from there. Go Bills.
  8. This nightmare has a chance to go to overtime.
  9. The ghost of Andy Dalton.
  10. Their OL is bad. For all this "Bengals organization is great" they haven't done near enough on the OL.
  11. They could of went underneath for 8-10 yards and kick a FG.
  12. Should be the Bills and Tampa Bay IMO. I don't want the Bengals to win but I can't root for the Rams at all. It's a puzzlement I tell you.
  13. OK I was going by memory on the 2010 stuff. There was a lot more than Galette and Graham. I started watching all the NO stuff and their history around that time and after the Jairus Byrd signing. At the time I was all about signing FAs and pushing the cap. My conclusion was and still is this. It is as risky as any other roster building technique. A lot has to do with luck.
  14. I wouldn't want Wentz anywhere near OBD even if he played for free. Andy Dalton is going to cost a lot of money to be a backup. He signed for $10M with the Bears for a year. Why would the Bills pay big money for a backup? Brissett is not all that great but he can win as much as he loses with a good team. I also said a QB "like" Brissett.
  15. It would be an awesome story line.
  16. Welcome. I wouldn't consider him as backup material. All reports are he is not a "process" guy.
  17. He probably is busy planning his big reenactment for the 160 year anniversary of the Battle of Antietam. He's made his $100M+, why bother.
  18. Wentz, Dalton and Tyrod are all terrible backup prospects for the Bills IMO. Find a guy in his late 20's that has a chance to stick around for a few years. Don't draft guys in the 5th or 6th either. They are a waste of a pick. I'm sticking with someone like Jacoby Brissett as a possibility.
  19. I was thinking next season (this year). Yes it's 0 if they keep him one more.
  20. It's not bad. $15M Dead Cap Hit to cut him this March.
  21. I so wanted Trey Hendrickson in FA last year. I'm waiting to see how he plays for the Bengals today. Much better of a move than going for Hunter this year. Signing Trey meant Beane could of passed on Boogie for Creed Humphrey. All that with Fournette for $3.5M would of meant a SB win IMO even with a couple bad coaching moves. I seldom do the, could of, should of, would of, but today's game is going to bring that out in me!
  22. Well said. Josh can turn it up when it really counts. A well executed screen game will give Josh another big weapon.
  23. New Orleans was below a .500 team during the 4 year span from 2013-2016. They wasted a lot of prime time Brees with very bad moves after they went crazy in FAs in 2010 and 2011. It's been 13 years since they have been to a SB. But you know all of that living down there.
  24. I do hope Beane can find a way to get an impact player or 2 on the team. I'm not sure if Hunter is that guy or not and also not sure what OBD thinks it can and cannot do. The one thing I want to comment on is the bolded. If fans don't think that Beane knows about this and is working the numbers they are fooling themselves. Beane knows full well what's going on and that is why his contract with Josh goes up $23M in 2023 from his 2022 cap hit.
