Rd 5, Pick 141: C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger

Why is he limited to Center? Isn’t OG easier to play? -
Beane: "This team is in transition"
Victory Formation replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is Josh Allen’s team now. Before we had other leaders on the team: Hyde, Poyer, Morse and Diggs, so on.. Problem was is that these guys are all making a lot of money and they’re on the wrong side of 30. Beane essentially drafted 10-11 young guys making $300k/yr to replace them with rather than paying expensive FAs $6M/yr to do the same job. We have young, cheap depth for miles and miles now and our cap is well under control. I do think that we added some nice starting quality pieces as well, but only time will tell.. -
Nope, I’m not smarter than our GM. I hold Beane in high regards. He’s probably our best GM all time outside of Bill Polian.

Beane: "This team is in transition"

He added three OL as well. If even one of those guys step up this line is set. A good draft overall, we have quality depth all over the place now. -
Beane: "This team is in transition"

I’d give Beane a B+ for this draft. I think overall he added a lot of nice, cheap, quality depth to this team, but did he add any quality game changers to this team like MHJ, Nabers or Odunze? I’m not saying he did, but I’m not saying he didn’t either. Beane essentially cut a bunch of old and overpriced players from the roster and added a bunch of youth. Well done, imo. -
Did we do enough at wide receiver?

I’m thinking that they add a veteran sometime now or before the start of the season. -
Rd 7, Pick 221: OT Travis Clayton

I love all this depth that they’re adding on the OL. -
Speed isn’t the only means to getting open.

For those that don’t like the Coleman pick

Which player has a higher likelihood of being successful? One taken early or one taken late? -
Rd 5, Pick 141: C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger

I digress. Bring him along slowly, McGovern has more experience as a pro. Give him a year or two to build up NFL strength and to learn the system. Nice pick though. Two year starter, high RAS score. -

I love this pick. Great backup who may be able to develop into a starter. Ryan Bates replacement on a cheap 4yr rookie contract? -
Rd 5, Pick 168: Edge Javon Solomon, Troy

STs player who may be able to rotate in occasionally? -

Give the kid a chance. There’s a reason he went #33 and Franklin didn’t go till RD4. -
Dungeons and Dragons?
-
And we still have five more meaningful picks RDs 4-5 to add even more young depth to this team. Like you said, probably no superstars but I’m not going to say that it couldn’t happen.
-
I’m totally cool with everything. Beane is trying to saturate this roster with young and cheap talent. Did we get a superstar like Nabers or Odunze? No, but we have good depth all across the board now.
-
Sometimes these guys fall because of character issues, maybe they didn’t interview well, some of them may have mental health issues or issues in their past or substance abuse issues and some of them may flat out just not be very smart.
-
Me too.

32 GMs have passed on Franklin almost three times now and I love Franklin. I would love it if we traded up for him right now. But there’s a reason why we’re fans and these guys are pros. Beane is in his spot for a reason and we’re posting on message boards for a reason.

Excellent pick. Between Rapp and Bishop we now have two safeties who can lay the lumber down.
-
Y’know, fans are pissed off about Keon Coleman but 99.9% of Bills fans pretty much adored Troy Franklin, but somehow Franklin is still available in RD3?
