Boomer Esiason suggests the Bills should trade for Barkley

So his career average is 4.6 and Motors is 4.7 if you want to compare the bigger picture. -

So your picture of a running play with a free runner coming unblocked down the line to stop him in the backfield is evidence that our rushing problems are at the rb position? -
Boomer Esiason suggests the Bills should trade for Barkley
Maine-iac replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's last year. He was top ten in yards after contact average at 2.3 which was better than Henry or Barkley (1.7 yac) and the year before he averaged 2.9 after contact which was 3rd in the league. Yes I looked at your tweet and I don't see any definitive evidence he has some kind of cutback there. The DE had contain the whole time. -

Singletary has bas been top 5 and top ten in yards after contact the last two years. Not sure what you are basing that opinion on. Actually funny enough 2 out of the last 3 years Motor has actually averaged more yards after contact than Allen based on pro football reference. -
Good news was that Hart didn't get injured in Miami because he was suspended so thats one less injured OL player this week.

If I thought the solution to our one sided play selection and production had anything to do with the running backs I'd be more inclined to do what it takes to bring in some other talent but I think Singletary is the least used best player possibly on the team and Cook is going to be a huge talent as well. If we called running plays and had any committment to the running game and it's execution I'm sure Singletary and Cook would prove to be very good. -
A Few Thoughts About the Dolphins Game, in no particular order
Maine-iac replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm still of the mindset we missed Poyer and Hyde most of all. Rewatching "highlights" and Waddle doesn't catch multiple deep passes and Edmunds doesn't run over a safety if Poyer is in there. Also realized (and was mentioned already) we had two touchdowns by the beginning of the second quarter and ran probably 60 ish plays after that and only scored 3 more points. Both our tackles literally got taken to the cleaners in the first couple of drives one resulted in a fumble and the other we overcame but both were pretty ugly. -
Poyer or Hyde then probably Oliver or Phillips. The worst blocking I saw was Brown before he went out and I think we missed Morse but the offense was moving the ball no problem. We drove every time we had the ball. Then we made mistakes. I would like to think that if we had our starting safeties we would have covered enough to let our pass rush get there more often. I think read somewhere we hadn't given up 3 20 yard pass plays in a long time. That's Poyer and Hyde. Tua averaged 10 per attempt.

Kudos to Defense - The Offense is What Failed
Maine-iac replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
I certainly wouldn't blame the defense especially with all the injuries but when a team only has 19 minutes of possession and only runs 30 plays yet scores 21 points we didn't exactly shut them down. The offense just kept the ball most of the game. All three phases left points on the field Sunday and that is how you lose games. Probably better to get a taste of that now instead of somewhere down the road. -

I would agree with you if not for the fact they ran well less than half the plays we did and scored more points. They had the ball 20 minutes and scored 21 points and the only time we really shut them down was when Bridgewater was in there. -

Everything that could have gone wrong did. Every phase of the game had mistakes made. Missed throws, missed kicks, missed blocks, missed catches (defense and offense). The turnover at the beginning of the game that got them in it really hurt. Overall a missed opportunity of a game. Heal up and come back hungry. It's only week three. -
Is Christian Benford better than Wallace?
Maine-iac replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
The bonus here is that we picked up a 6th round capable starter for zone (which we play most of the time) and and a legit man to man cb just to mess with people. It also seems like they both like to come up and tackle. -
Anyone else see Watkins face sitting on the bench getting thrashed by the Vikings?

Would love to see the Bengals miss another kick. It would be sad and hilarious.

Told ya ..... Steelers should just tried to run out the clock and gone for a tie.
-
Hughes has as many sacks in week one as he had all season last year.

Steelers should just run the clock out and take the tie.

A lot of teams look pretty bad even in wins. 1st week so some will clean things up but a lot of ugly games.
-
Falcons choking also. Saints might pull it out.

How is Houston choking it up? Looked like they had Indy beat.
