It's comical how all the folks critical of McD (with good reason) for not stopping a team from going 40 yards in 13 seconds with no timeouts are now suggesting his defense would have stopped a team from going 10 yards in 20 seconds with no timeouts 🤣

You know your offense is easy to defend when a viewer on TV can call the exact play before it happens. Others may have noticed in the past also. For whatever reason, whenever the Bills slot receiver lines up with his feet pointed inward toward the line, the call is either a) a screen to that player, or b) a run play where said player has no role other than half assed peripheral blocking. In either case the result is usually not pretty. This has been a major tell for the Bills on offense but I thought it was limited just to Diggs last year (it happened repeatedly after Brady took over). Now Samuel is doing the exact same thing (twice on screens today which both got blown up). Why are we doing this? How are we telling our receiver to line up? This alignment seems to make it awfully easy to identify what we are going to do. If I as an average fan at home can recognize this tendency, surely a D coordinator and his players can see it.

Like it would have mattered. Fairbairn can hit from 60 plus. Our only prayer was getting a first down and forcing OT. Had they run 3 straight times, people would be saying McD was gutless when the Texans still drilled the game winning field goal.

And Houston still would've won. They just would have called the plays differently. No matter what, if the Bills didn't get a first down at the end they were going to lose

Complain all you want about the end of game, but had the Bills gone run run run punt the result would've been the same. With Houston having all 3 timeouts and us pinned at the 4, we HAD to get a first down just to ensure overtime. There are PLENTY of things to complain about here, but the end of game is not one of them.

The Bills defense would be well advised to stop blitzing Stroud. He has been killing it all game

I agree Darnold has been pretty terrible, but he was solid in the first quarter. He started to look bad once Aaron Jones went out because they haven't been able to run the ball since. Chandler looks like he's stuck in mud when he takes a handoff

I agree. It doesn't seem like he's processing all that fast. But the combination of O'Connell (who has to be one of the most underrated coaches in the NFL), good weapons, and a solid line allow him to be successful

Bernard will be out there and Miller is a role player at this point, so we'll likely be down 4 defensive starters along with Von and Austin Johnson. The loss of Shakir will be huge as well. I'm willing to bet McD is being very conservative with some of these guys as we absolutely need to be closer to full strength for the key division game next week. It could very well get ugly again on defense. As someone else mentioned, I'm hoping for a Keon Coleman breakout game.
