  1. Julio's contract situation, the fact that the Falcons have a bad defense that is gonna need fixing and they are gonna need as many picks as possible to rebuild the defense might make them give up Julio for picks. The Falcons are 4-9 with him and their cap situation is nowhere near as good ours is gonna be so it's not like keeping him around is gonna be helping them any. They drafted Calvin Ridley last year so they could possibly already have their Julio replacement. Julio is gonna be 30 when next year starts and AJ Green is gonna be 31 and in the last year of his deal so either one could get traded for a discount. I don't see the Falcons or Bengals signing them to long term deals and no one is gonna give up a first or second round pick for aging receivers and that's why I believe we could get either one for a 3rd and 4th round pick this this offseason
  2. My only thing is I wanna go after a game changing receiver like Julio or AJ. I do think Beane makes a play for both guys. Not saying I don't like Enunwa but not as the top acquisition at the position
  3. AJ is going into the last year of his contract and always seems to have injury problems but is a top 5 receiver when healthy. The Bengals continue to be a mess year after year so I think it is possible to give up an aging receiver in a contract year for a 3rd and 4th rounder which will probably be about as best as they can get. Julio's situation for reasons I stated before about his contract issues and the fact that he held out in training camp this year, the fact that the Falcons have one of the worst defenses in the league and drafting Ridley last year might make it an idea the Falcons think about. The Falcons are 4-9 right now with Julio so what good is he actually doing that team? And because of age a 3rd rounder is probably as high as they will get but the Falcons may entertain the idea of giving him up for as many draft picks as possible
  4. The article that was posted on here a few days ago about how Beane can turn the Bills into contenders next year talked about giving up a 3rd and 4th round pick in 2019 for one of these guys. A 3rd and 4th is quite possible I think especially for the Falcons who are gonna want as many picks as possible to rebuild that defense in a defense heavy draft and the fact that Julio has contract issues and they drafted Calvin Ridley last year. If a 3rd and 4th doesn't work, I would think about giving up a 2nd and 5th. We could still have a first round pick. Julio is 30 and AJ is 31. No one is giving up 1st round pick for either one
  5. I obviously don't expect us to sign all these guys but I do think Beane is going big at receiver this offseason and I think there will at least be an attempt to trade for Julio or AJ Honestly, of all the guys I listed. My top choices (in no particular order) would be Trade for Julio or AJ Sign Tyler Eifert Sign Matt Paradis Sign Daryl Williams Sign DeMarcus Lawrence or Jadeveon (these two are probably the least likely and we can always draft a top pass rusher in the draft) Sign Jason Verrett That would be an amazing offseason. We have $91 million in cap room. Go get 'em
  6. I like the all red color rush uniforms as long as it's only once a year
  7. 1. Trade for Julio Jones or Aj Green 2. Sign Tyler Eifert to a one year deal to prove durability. If he proves to stay healthy, resign to longer contract 3. Sign Matt Paradis 4. Sign Daryl Williams at RT (Carolina guy so will probably get signed by Beane) 5. Get a secondary receiver receiver on a small 2 year contract like Tyrell Williams or Randall Cobb 6. Sign Jadeveon Clowney or DeMarcus Lawrence 7. Resign Lorenzo, if not, Clay Matthews on small contract or Anthony Barr 8. Sign Jason Verrett to be the #2 corner 9. Attempt to resign Kyle to another year Draft Top Olineman or Top pass rusher in draft round 1. Draft Anthony Johnson, WR from UB in round 2 That is my dream offensive scenario. Carry on
  8. With the exception of Kyle and Lorenzo who are still playing pretty well by the way, who exactly is old?
  9. I actually don't think Julio is on the downside of his career. I think AJ Green might be but Julio hasn't really shown any signs of slowing down this year
  10. "A consistent REAL contender". We may have had a lot of 7 or 8 win seasons and only 3 seasons of 9 wins in the last 18 years. Nothing we really did in the last 20 years has made us contenders. These are a couple of moves that can give us more than 9 wins and give us a real, true playoff run Not 100% a lock but gives a real chance with the defense we have. And acquiring Julio and Eifert would set us up for a Super Bowl run in 2020/2021 possibly even 2019 if we are able to get into the playoffs. I don't understand how you think acquiring Julio and Eifert and two more solid drafts in 2019 and 2020 wouldn't put us on the path to a Super Bowl run in 2020 or 2021? We wouldn't be bringing Julio on board just to get to the playoffs next season, It's to start the step of a being a consistent contender
  11. I remember that opening game that the Pats had against the Chiefs last year. Tyreek Hill torched the crap out of Gilmore on a long TD catch and as far as I remember the first month of the season last year he wasn't really good. He might be now though
  12. How do you know we aren't making the playoffs next season? That's what picking up Julio and signing Eifert is for. With our defense and another solid draft, there is no reason to think otherwise next season
  13. https://www.newyorkupstate.com/expo/sports/erry-2018/12/501b72522bc54/being-beane-turning-bills-into.html This article explains what Beane can do with $90 million in cap space and the steps he can take in the 2019 offseason through free agency, trades and the draft. I agree with this article but there are two changes I would make: The article talks about trading for AJ Green by giving up a 3rd and 4th round pick which I wouldn't mind but personally I would go hard after Julio. The Falcons are 4-8 so Julio being there isn't helping them any. He held out for a new contract in training camp this year and I think he possibly does the same next year. Considering the Falcons cap situation and the fact that their defense is extremely bad, I could see them wanting to acquire draft picks to build that defense up in a defensive heavy draft. Also, the Falcons drafted Calvin Ridley last year and could possibly be Julio's replacement for a far cheaper price to them. Although Julio is gonna be 30 starting next season. He is a year younger than Green and should still have a few years left of quality football The other move I would make that is different from the article is: The article talks about signing Jared Cook at tight end if we end up releasing Clay which I think we do. Jared Cook is going to be 32 at the beginning of next season but has been inconsistent also throughout his career. I would sign Tyler Eifert in free agency. Eifert is younger than cook but has had problems with injuries in his career. Because of his injury issues, I would sign Eifert to a simple one year deal and see if he can stay healthy throughout the season. If he is able to prove that he is durable and can make plays for this offense like he does for the Bengals when he actually plays then we can resign him to a longer contract. Eifert is also only 28 which is four years younger than Cook and could possibly be more of a longer term option if everything works out. The article also talks about signing Matt Paradis at center from the Broncos which I also agree with and drafting Ed Oliver in the 1st round to replace Kyle Williams whether he retires after the season or not and drafting Anthony Johnson in the 2nd round no matter what we do at receiver. It's a good read and gets you excited for the offseason and thinking about what next season could bring
  14. I was 6 years old and I distinctly remember my dad listening to the game on the radio. That was the year I really started to get into football. I remember being extremely excited for after the comeback win and that first Bills/Cowboys Super Bowl being my first memory of a Superbowl and us getting blasted 52-17 and being completely bummed when they lost and then my parents telling me it was time for bed because I had school the next day. I wanted no part of going to bed right after that lol
  15. Say what you all want about Beane and McDermott. They have brought in a lot of great young talent
  16. The other thing is the Falcons are 4-8 with Julio so it's not like him being there is really helping them much. Their defense is insanely bad and they are probably going to want as many draft picks as they can get in a defense heavy draft to fix it. They are already paying Ryan a crap ton so I doubt they are going to want to pay Julio some outrageous some of money to stay there considering they drafted Calvin Ridley last year.
  17. Acquiring guys like Julio is how you become a team on the "cusp"
  18. I think releasing both of these guys means we're going big for WR in the offseason. We can't go with Zay at #1. He's a fantastic #2. I think we are gonna make a big trade at the position. If they are really sold on Allen they have to. Not to mention next year is year 3 for Beane and McDermott. They know next year is the year to really get this team to start contending
  19. Trade for Julio and sign Tyler Eifert in free agency.
  20. I don't understand the people that are against this. Is Julio 30 years old? Yes. Is it going to take a lot to get him? More than likely. Is he going to cost a lot against the cap? Yes. I don't care. Go get Julio. I don't think I would give up a first rounder for him. But a 2nd rounder for a receiver that could have 4 to 5 great years left that can put us over the top offensively, I'm doing it. We also have $90 million in cap space. Julio might take up at the high end about $20 million of it. That still leaves $70 million to make other signings and draft other players. I'm all over a move for Julio
