  1. Just not in the AFC.
  2. Oh I agree that Brown was great his first year with the Bills. In 2020 those receptions went to Diggs, leaving Brown the long ball target. He became as Beane said the "fast ball."
  3. Totally agree with this. He disappeared in the playoffs this year as well as last. Against Houston last year there were balls that he dropped along the sidelines that caused our drives to stall. Balls this year went through his hands or were batted away. I loved Smoke but outside of an occasional long ball he didn't bring much more to the table.
  4. Likely they were getting a lot of questions from the media and wanted to take care of them all at once. Perhaps what they did and did not say serves a purpose in future negotiations with other teams.
  5. I think that McBeane can only say so much. They know we need to improve in a number of areas...running game, pass rush and at TE. But they don't want their current players to hear that they are trash and they don't believe they can improve. They want them to work hard in the off season and in camp. They also are playing it close to the vest so as not to tip any future plans to the rest of the league. Perhaps not having a press conference would have been better. Not sure why they called it.
  6. Good summary here: https://billswire-usatoday-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/billswire.usatoday.com/2021/03/18/12-takeaways-buffalo-bills-brandon-beane-mitchell-trubisky-josh-allen-emmanuel-sanders/amp/?amp_js_v=a6&amp_gsa=1#referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From %1%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fbillswire.usatoday.com%2F2021%2F03%2F18%2F12-takeaways-buffalo-bills-brandon-beane-mitchell-trubisky-josh-allen-emmanuel-sanders%2F
  7. Don't like that Thursday Night Football is on Amazon Prime exclusively.
  8. I was just responding to the OP trying to suggest a QB controversy. Certainly Mitch is an upgrade at backup QB for this year. Beyond that...you never know.
  9. You're wrong. They just want a more solid backup and they had an opportunity.
  10. I miss John Candy. Great comedic actor!
  11. I like the move. Sanders has been good for a long time. He has good hands and is reliable. I loved Smoke...but there were games he disappeared and was under contract for a lot more than Sanders. I trust Beane. He has a plan and is methodical. Nothing knee-jerk.
  12. I would not discount what the Patriots are doing. They have improved their offensive and defensive talent today. They will also get players back that opted out last year. We won the division one year and made it to the AFC Championship game. We can be proud and happy, but not smug. We will have to earn it every year.
  13. I don't know that we can really judge the effectiveness of these players without Star in the lineup tying up blockers. For now, Beane is eliminating roster holes so that he can be fluid in the draft. He can then focus on best player available, rather than having to reach for a position of need.
  14. Polian didn't have to deal with a salary cap.
  15. I'm sure Giselle is thrilled with this news. Football is Brady's first love.
  16. My deepest condolences at the loss of your beloved Mom. Losing your Mom is always especially hard. I lost my own 3 years ago. One of our favorite things to do together was to watch football. The Bills especially. We loved watching college football more, though. Saturdays were wall to wall games. She love Notre Dame...I think because of Regis Philbin...so we always watched them play. I had my teams...UB, Penn State, Central Michigan and Air Force...but we always turned to games that were close in the waning moments. If the games went into OT, all the better. We called it bonus football. Cherish your memories of your Mom. She.now will have front row seats from her skybox in heaven. God Bless you.
  17. Wouldn't surprise me if D'Andre Hopkins influenced his decision. A former respected teammate who could give him direct knowledge of the team culture in AZ.
  18. I really don't want the Jets to draft Zach Wilson. I think he's going to be good. Really strong arm and mobile.
  19. "There's a gleem." It's Marty smiling up in heaven. Rest in perfect peace.
  20. I was thinking last night after the game. The Bills put up 24 points against the Chiefs...with their DBs holding all game and the refs letting KC get away with personal fouls, etc...unlike last night's Super Bowl. They also put up 24 points with no running game and playing one dimensionally. Allen was pressured most of the game as Mahomes was last night. Yet the Bills offense put up 24 points. The huge difference, of course, was on the opposite side of the ball. Our defense got zero pressure on Mahomes and the game plan was to "limit" big plays versus playing aggressive and physical. Lots for Josh to learn in the off season, as well as our coaching staff.
  21. He knows that...as does McD. You have to rebuild every year.
  22. Nope. They've been playing off the receivers...and not giving Mahomes time.
  23. Actually I saw a piece on the news today that Pats fans are still grieving the loss of Brady and are rooting against him.
