  1. And if the Patriots won the game in the same fashion they'd be going on about the Belichick coached defense making the play when they had to. The Bills won a close division game. Period end of statement.
  2. That is the dilemma, no doubt. Tomlinson from the Giants might be available for a 5th. (We don't have a 4th next year.) I liked the idea of Dontari Poe until I found out he was overweight. We need the proverbial "space pig" but they need to be able to move. Teams that are strong against the run are generally in contention and likely won't be sellers.
  3. I agree with many in this thread that a 1 technique DT would do a lot to tie up blockers. That's the piece we miss without Star. Offensively you have to think of who you would sit to get that player on the field. Singletary and Moss both played well today. That should open up things in the passing game when Allen isn't battling 40 mph winds.
  4. Okay. You're crazy. Happy? Seriously...if we trade, it needs to be defensive help.
  5. Well, at least they didn't get blown out. Clifford is not the type of QB that can win a game passing. The opt outs hurt them for sure but OSU is clearly the class of the Big 10 this year. And yes...Dotson was incredible tonight. Wish he would have played like that last week. Thanks for the kind remarks.
  6. It's based on last year...number 8 going into this year. They won't be top 20 after tonight.
  7. So far the Spartans are fired up. Michigan looks surprisingly flat.
  8. I love how McVay runs to give his players a congratulatory high five and gets ignored.
  9. I love rational and realistic posts in this forum. Thanks, Shaw. I'm not bothered at all by the way we won yesterday. Our defense made adjustments and played well in the second half of the game. They played aggressively. If that is the start of things to come...then we should all feel good. As to the offense in the Red Zone...I think that's where we miss Brown the most. How many times in games, do we see Brown, perhaps not scoring the TD, but tying up defenders with his movements in the end zone. I also think getting Feliciano back will make a huge difference in the run game. He brings an attitude.
  10. Yes. I do agree with this. You need to minimize the impact of winning the coin flip. For those that argue it's the job of the defense to stop the opposing offense, so often when the teams go to OT, the defenses are exhausted. If the team that wins the coin flip scores a TD on the first possession, the other team should get a possession and be allowed to counter. If they fail...game over.
  11. They have their splash plays when they know we're watching...just so we complain.
  12. If I recall, I think it was a roster numbers game that year. They liked Valleho and wanted to sign him to the practice squad.
  13. The Tanner Valleho that rushed Wilson on the previous snap was the Bills draft pick we let go.
  14. Couldn't agree more. I never understand the rush to kick a field goal. You had one negative play. Run the dang ball.
  15. And...? I know speed kills...but generally there aren't many CBs that can stick with straight line speed. I'd rather have a guy that's quick and stick with a guy on those short and intermediate routes.
  16. It's interesting. As good as a coach as Belichick is, even he is proving that you have to have the QB to win. At least thus far.
  17. So agree. A passive defense is like playing not to lose. In general that does not work unless you have a 21 point lead at the 2 minute warning.
  18. It had a pulse. We can work with this. I think Feliciano will make a difference.
  19. I was watching the ESPN pregame show this morning and they talked about the NE receivers not getting a lot of separation. With Brady's accuracy and feel for the offense, they got away with it. With Newton...not so much.
  20. I'm a Penn State alum and watching them lose the same way yesterday was painful.
  21. Players don't tank either. They don't play for the next draft.
