  1. Belichick would have benched him immediately, and won or lost the super bowl from there come whatever may. Reid really gives his player's a long leash though.
  2. My biggest problem with that trade is we only got a 3rd and a single future 1st to let KC move up from 27 all the way into the top 10 KC was already a perennial playoff team, so the expected return on that future 1st you have to assume is going to be pick 20+ To let them move up that far for that package just never sat well with me, even before Mahomes became a superstar.
  3. I really, really wish the Chiefs had somehow decided not to pay him this year.
  4. I know, I looked into all outcomes in the multiverse. I can assure you it wouldn’t have mattered 😝
  5. It would force the 9ners to play all four downs, yes. But I just doubt they can do that AND stop KC from scoring the winning field goal after.
  6. From the Pats to these guys… If you’ve got a top QB and elite coaching on both sides of the ball you’re just bordering on unstoppable in this league. Unfortunately we’ve only got one of those three elements of the equation…
  7. Wouldn’t have mattered, imo. Brock Purdy is not out dueling Mahomes in OT. Just the nature of the beast.
  8. SF off to a roaring start.
  9. lol blocked PAT
  10. Once Spags defense locks a team down they rarely let back up. Brock Purdy is not putting this team on his back to make it happen.
  11. They were uncharacteristically harsh to KC to start the game but that seems to be all out of their system now.
  12. Shanahan really doesn’t wanna run the ball anymore huh
  13. Some vintage Andy Reid head coaching right there, ya just hate to see it
  14. It's not just sad, it's f------ criminal. The pro bowl is a joke but you're dead on, the effect it has on a guy's perception at the end of his career certainly isn't.
  15. I mean to be fair 31 teams’ message boards all end the year the same way. Only one gets to be the exception.
  16. The thing is that expectations in the lower rounds aren’t as high, so finding “good players” is just fine. No matter what the round, we’ve found a lot of good football players. Dominant players is another story. That’s what we need. Players who can take over a game. The Process alone isn’t going to win a championship.
  17. Come on now Happy it wasn’t solely in the defense.. special teams helped out a little bit as well. 😅
  18. Brady seems competent, and probably did more than enough to earn an offseason to design the playbook and get a full year to truly own the offense and see what he can do. But there’s definitely a part of me that was hoping we’d bring in some fresh blood. Someone with more experience who can further develop Allen as a passer. This feels like more of the same is almost inevitable, but hopefully that ends up not being the case.
  19. Imagine a world where we would rather play KC in the divisional than Houston, lol.
  20. Sorry Dingus but nothing about this game will stop the media from painting whatever narrative they want to about Josh being inferior to Mahomes. Nothing. Until he beats Mahomes in the playoffs and wins a ring, there’s no consolation prize and no one in the mainstream media would care to hand it out to him even if there was.
  21. Chris Jones has been the Chiefs MVP the last two years. Legitimately takes over games. Mahomes is the face of the wins, but he could barely complete a pass in the 2nd half and it didn’t matter because the combo of Jones and Spags’ scheme is simply overwhelming for a pedestrian QB like Lamar Jackson. Mahomes just has to dink and dunk and wait for the game to end.
  22. Like fumbling the ball into the end zone for a touchback? Fact is the NFL is pretty weak right now. Most teams don’t have even a serviceable QB, let alone a great one. Chiefs have the trifecta of top QB, top pass rusher and top coaching. Everybody else is playing catch up to get to that level.
  23. From what I hear, neither QB was all that electrifying and Lamar was downright “pedestrian” or worse. I stand by my original statement. Allen spoils us, all other QB’s just aren’t as much fun to watch.
  24. Mahomes is the only top tier QB in the league book ended by top tier coaches on both sides of the ball. Between that and their general good luck they’ve enjoyed on the injury front, he’s got it made.
  25. It’s no accident KC looks so different in the playoffs when referees are encouraged to hold their flags and let teams play. Their mentality is to push the envelope and be aggressive and if the refs aren’t calling anything, keep doing it.
