Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
Norcalbillsfan replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
32 – Detroit Lions – Christian Watson, Wide Receiver, North Dakota State DJ Chark is currently the Lions #1 receiver. They need to fix that. Christian Watson is a boom or bust prospect but he is renowned as an excellent locker room guy with a first class attitude which I think would appeal to the culture they are trying to build in Detroit. If all quality CBs are gone at 25 and trade back isn't fruitful enough, I wouldn't be upset with the bills gambling on Watsons upside. Seems like he has the attitude to be willing to learn from the best route runner in the nfl in diggs. And at the least as a rookie he could be a streak route burner that makes defenses have to adjust for his speed and size. -
Giants decline Jones 5th year option
Norcalbillsfan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly, everyone thinks this is a sign that they are drafting a qb. But think about it, shoen and daboll haven't worked with Jones at all and signed Tyrod, it doesn't mean they already dislike Jones, it means you can't sign a 5th year option on a qb with a rocky past then Tyrod beats him out at training camp and starts week 1, that makes you look dumb the beginning of your tenure. -
Ya his mock was pretty brutal for how it falls to the bills. If beane isn't in love with booth or Hall, I see the bills trying to trade back in that situation, not much left. If the trade back isn't rich enough, me personally if the draft falls that way, I wouldn't mind betting on the freak gifts of Christian Watson at #25 and letting him learn from Diggs. Kind of a reach for some people but the gifts are undeniable.

7. The genius title for Beane would have to be revisited- this would be an error in the overall plan of a continued successful team. I agree with all your points, im not for a RB in the 1st. Though I won't let it ruin my day if it happens. But your #7 point is interesting because if the bills draft hall and he makes a small contribution that doesnt live up to a first rounder and they still win a superbowl, no matter what, beane is seen as a genius and the hall pick is an absolute success because they won it all. But if they draft hall and he's good but lose in the playoffs again...people might start grabbing pitch forks and asking why the 25th wasnt spent on a premium position. I guess my point is it could be argued that it's a risky proposition for beanes reputation to go RB in the 1st.
-
True, and many in the NFL have mentioned Hall is not a First rounder especially not last year, he just happens to be maybe the best rb this year. But that's the beauty of mock drafts. Everyone has their opinions, and none of us will know what happens until Thursday.
-
Lol ESPN just had the bills take breece hall over Andrew booth... not saying it's impossible but I would be very upset if beane went RB over arguably the 2nd best CB in the draft.

Chiefs trade up for elite WR like Jameson. They see how good the AFC is now, they go for building more fire power.

Would you still like JA if he was on another team?
Norcalbillsfan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
My core friend group are bronco and niner fans and they all agreed they would do a Ricky Williams trade in a heart beat to have Allen on their team. Even more now with the drama of so many qbs around the nfl, and Allen says he loves training camp so he can watch movies and play video games and bond with his friends, that's the guy you want as your franchise. -
Haack probably had one of the worst single games for a punter in nfl history, he often hurts the bills more than helps and can't be an option to return. That being said the value we can get at other positions in the 4th is too valuable to this teams future to use on a punter. We can find future starters on the iol in the 4th and that value is much higher than a punter. I wouldn't mind araiza even though he's a complete question mark at holding, but I can't swallow anything earlier than a 5th for a punter.

I could see the seahawks wanting to trade back and aquire a load of day 2 picks. Also giants, but for the bills to get that high it's hard to not see us parting with our 2023 1st round pick to get there. It would be interesting with the loss of Wagner if the seahawks would perk their eyebrows at an edmunds trade.

Maybe Insurance if they don't land guys in the draft they want?

Diggs Extended 4 more years breaking news per WGR 550
Norcalbillsfan replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not saying it's impossible, but if davis continues how he finished last year he could quickly command elite money by the time his rookie deal is up. Can the bills afford to pay elite money to josh, von, diggs, and upper echelon money to Dawkins, and white? Also possible signings like Oliver, edmunds, and Knox would command upper echelon money. I know the cap goes up and contracts can be reworked, but enough to sign davis if he plays elite? I'm not against signing davis, I'm just saying it looks much more difficult after paying diggs a massive contract. I wouldn't be surprised if the bills drafted a contingency plan for wr2 for down the road if davis commands elite money, then you have a young WR on a rookie deal that's been learning the offense and can be groomed for the #2 spot. -
Diggs Extended 4 more years breaking news per WGR 550
Norcalbillsfan replied to BillsPride12's topic in The Stadium Wall
The diggs extension makes me think if the right WR is at 25 the bills take it. Signing Gabe is looking more and more difficult. Now would be a great time to have a young reciever learning from diggs, with no pressure to come in and be the #2 this year. -
I'll admit he never looked like he was happy to be a bill and said some stupid things when he left, but you don't become defensive player of the year playing from pure talent and just a desire for money. You have to put in the work to be the best, and he obviously did being arguably the best CB in the nfl for span of about 3 years. This is a new bills regime, and hes older and wiser, I bet he could buy into the bills mentality.

Christian Watson, not really a sleeper anymore now that he's being mocked in rd 1. But this wr class is so deep I think his freak size and speed are getting a little over shadowed. If he got paired with a good veteran wr to learn from and a good QB to throw to him he could be everything the chargers hope Mike Williams will finally be.
-
Who cares how he left, he was a kid stuck on a bad bills team. We all have been young men with giant egos. At least he worked hard and went on to back it up as dpoty. He 100% makes our defense better the second he walks through the door, so for that I'm in.

Josh back working with Palmer..
Norcalbillsfan replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've had alot of bad takes, but I definitely wanted Allen solely cuz hes a farm kid from California. But I got into and argument on this wall with a guy saying Rosen and darnold are the only options. I had friends on the medical staff at ucla that had interactions with Rosen and they said he was a douche. And some guy on here told me I was just repeating rumors I read online and I was an idiot for thinking Allen over Rosen..... I wonder what that one bills fan would say now... -
Comes down to momentum to me, if the bills just drove the feild and scored to tie the game and the crowd is going wild, I'd take the ball first. Our if my defense needs a breather take the ball. Otherwise I like ball second, If you have a great 2 point play that you feel good about I think differing is a solid strategy.

Many, along with myself have been begging for a team only subscription. But I highly doubt they would do that. Way too much money they can gouge out of die hard fans.

In every case I agree with you, I never want an RB round 1 and our need at CB is dire. But I won't hate RB like Hall in the first because of one thing, I genuinely think with the way the nfl is shifting, more passing and 2 high safety an explosive RB that can catch a dumpoff and house it, instantly improves josh allen. And I'm ALL for giving Allen weapons. Joe bascalia (can't remember how to spell his name) kinda opened my eyes to it a bit more. Though I wasn't crazy about his mock draft he makes a great point about the 2 high safety defenses and how an explosive back would help josh alot. And that explosive weapon locked up 5 years with josh on dirt cheap rookie deal doesn't sound terrible. But if the bills went for a slow power back in the 1st that brings nothing in the passing game I would be livid. I'm still all about cb or ol in the first but a home run hitter like hall for josh wouldn't ruin my day.

Jarvis Landry wants $20 million a year
Norcalbillsfan replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
Can't blame the guy, look at the ridiculous contracts the jaguars handed out to guys that don't have half the production he has. I doubt he gets that but you don't get it unless you ask. -
Joe Buscaglia's 7 round Bills Mock draft (paywall)
Norcalbillsfan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the 2 high is gonna be something that Allen, mahomes, burrow, see alot next season. Not to mention Henderson was the unsung hero of the Superbowl in my opinion. The 2 high was frustrating Stafford early on, but Henderson made some huge 1st Downs with a couple of dumpoffs. Rams might not win the Superbowl without those. I love Singletary but I don't know if he makes those plays. I'm ok with Hall if we have a plan for CB, if it's a veteran and a 2nd rounder or something, as long as there's a plan.
