NFL mandates new playing surfaces for all stadiums by 2028

I'm sure the Bills can tweak anything with the field before it is all installed to be compliant. -
Bills lead in Pass Blocking and Pass Play Efficiency
MJS replied to JaBu's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen has not been as good avoiding sacks, and he is also the culprit for some of the sacks. But Dawkins hasn't been quite as good this year. He was awesome last year, and regressed a bit. -
Like I said, I was against signing him to a 2nd contract. So, I agree with you. Rousseau is a good player, but not what we need. We need a sack specialist.
-
He isn't making top 15 money. He is the 16th highest paid pass rusher, and every season that ranking will go down. His pay might seem like a lot to you, but that is what the market is for a player the caliber of Rousseau. That being said, I was against signing him to a 2nd contract. I would have let him walk.
-
Rousseau isn't paid like a premier pass rusher, though. He is paid like an average starter.

Prepare to be disappointed. The Bills aren't all of the sudden going to play drastically different on defense. They'll play more man and probably blitz more, and maybe they'll have a wrinkle or two. You can't just change your defense mid season, though. It's not a videogame. Everything has to be installed, learned, and practiced by the players over weeks and months.

Slay is clearly an upgrade over Ingram, who is a borderline practice squad player. And what did the Bills invest in Ingram? He was an undrafted free agent. He has been a practice squad and bottom of the roster player for a couple of years. I'm not sure why anyone is getting worked up about him.

Lamar Jackson limited in practice yesterday, didn’t practice today

I don't think it is injury. I think it is embarrassment from the game he played last week. He can't show his face. -
Phil Hansen was better than Rousseau, unfortunately. That being said, Rousseau is the 16th highest paid edge rusher. That's not a huge overpay.
-
We need to sign a defensive end, honestly.

The Bills don't need to win out. They could, I suppose, and that would be great, but they just need to take it week by week and get a few more wins to make it to the playoffs. If the Pats take 1st place in the division, good for them. And they can enjoy the tougher schedule next year.

Week 14, Bungles v. Bills, PREDICT THE SCORE!

Bills: 27 Bengals: 24 -
Good depth. All it takes is one injury before we need him to take meaningful reps.

The Bills are 3rd in yards and 5th in points per game on offense. On defense they are 7th in yards allowed and 13th in points allowed per game. So, I don't know how Fox Sports is doing their own rankings, but that's how they rank with their actual stats.

If Kansas City loses to Houston, their chances of making the playoffs goes down to about 11%. It would be so fun to see them miss the playoffs with Mahomes not even missing any time. So, they just weren't taking things seriously before and they decided that now, in week 14, it is finally time to get dialed in and try to win? That's pretty bad, if true. Andy Reid must have lost the locker room if he can't get his team motivated to play until now. He should be on the hot seat. Or maybe they just don't have the horses this year and aren't the dominant team they have been...

Bosa and Thompson are the obvious choices. But Milano is a dark horse IF he comes back on a very cheap contract and the Bills bring in more linebacker competition. That would be a low risk, high reward situation.

Its OK for the Bills to be a run-first team
MJS replied to First Round Bust's topic in The Stadium Wall
Pittsburgh actually has an average offense. They are 15th in yards and 15th in points per game (23.4). Its not like they are a bottom 5 offense or anything. The Bills made them look much worse than they actually are. -
He needs over 150 yards a game for the remaining games to get to 2,000. That ain't happening. Great season, though.

It's hard to say he is the main issue. There are lots of issues that all contribute. But he is one of them, in my opinion. I see the defense, even though it isn't very good, make adjustments and stop the bleeding. That is coaching. So, even though there are plenty issues on defense, we see them right the ship from time to time and make stops, even have entire games where they do really well. When the offense struggles, it just struggles. We don't really see adjustments. We don't often see the offense pick up the team when the defense is struggling. We see the same few plays getting run over and over until it gets stuffed multiple times. And we see average receivers play like they don't even belong in the league. I think the receivers we have should be producing more than they do. The scheme and playcalling does not elevate anyone. And I think the success of the running game is all because of Kromer, not Brady. I'm not one to pick on coaches. I defend McDermott all the time. But I'm pretty suspicious of Brady. I think he is part of the problem.

Tackling has changed across the entire sport at all levels over the last 20-30 years as an emphasis on player safety, awareness of risks, and officiating have all necessitated the change. Yes, the targeting rule is part of that legislation, but I don't believe it is the cause of those changes. The changes were already happening. I think it is an unnecessary rule and is more for the NCAA to point to to say they take player safety seriously rather than something that really moves the needle.

Allen was just trying to push him off because Hayward was taking his sweet time and just laying there on his legs.
