The Bills just follow the market and contract trends.
-
Well, this was not the case. It is injury related.
-
He is a quality depth player, though. Don't want him as a starter, but he can rotate in and make some plays.
-
What!? The Bills don't have a top 10 receiver? You gotta be kidding me...

The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
MJS replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
No, it is pretty much just Bills fans. -
I call BS on the qualifiers thing. How would a former Jets assistant GM know Jackson's specific situation? I bet he was just saying that such a situation was not uncommon, not that it was specifically the case with Jackson.
-
Did they say this was the case with Jackson or just that this thing is common and COULD be the case?
-
Yeah, that was always the trade timeline. He wouldn't be traded until the suspensions are over, if it happens.
-
It's Sauce Gardner's turn. Extended through 2030, $120 Million.

I predict they will both be demanding a trade a year or two from now. -
Commanders and WR Terry McLaurin still not close to a new deal
MJS replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
We only need about $30 million more in cap space. Easy. -
Chargers reveal alternate uniforms which will be all gold
MJS replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
I personally think all of the ones with yellow pants suck, including, and especially, the new all yellows. -

That's not gold. That's yellow. -
Seems like a big risk. He should stay and play in the NFL and get over whatever gripes he and/or his agent have. Yes, the Bengals are tough to deal with, but come on...
-
I don't think there is any reason to believe that the Bills definately would have beaten the Bengals the next week. The Bills have not shown that they can handle the Bengals, and that was the best version of the Bengals.

I think the 2021 team was the best so far in the McDermott era. They had a really good defense that year and the offense was really good as well. I think Tre White was hurt that year, wasn't he? So at corner we had Dane Jackson and Levi Wallace starting, and the defense was still really good.
-
Agreed. Bridgewater can claim whatever he wants. Funds going to underage school children need to be accounted for and properly documented to make sure claims are actually accurate. For all we know, he could have been paying for alcohol and parties, or incentivizing their play with lavish rewards. There is a process for paying for all the things he claimed to pay for, and he didn't follow that process, so how do we know everything was kosher? We don't. And that's the problem.
-
He was probably paying for a lot more than that. That is just what he admitted to. I don't think they really know or care to know. They just wanted to get their narrative across.
-
Allen had a lot of fun moments that year. That week 17 game against Miami was awesome. He accounted for 5 TDs and showed he could be patient and work within the structure of the offense. That was the game I knew he had the potential to be something special (well, that with what he showed in other games that year).
-
Plus, he was probably doing more than he publicly admitted to.
-
Why does everything have to be a conspiracy? Maybe he just broke the rules and got suspended for it.
-
The bulk of those off target throws they mentioned went to Kincaid. For some reason those two couldn't get on the same page. I bet they fix that this year.
-
I wasn't even making fun of them with my original comment. I just said I think it is risky to pay a WR before you have a QB. That's all. I think good teams are figuring out how to operate without the big money receivers because the contracts are getting too insane. Let then walk and then draft their replacements and sign mid market free agents until the receiver market cools down or the rest of the league inflates to their level. The team that went to the playoffs the year before was way different. They cut a ton of players to clear cap and get rid of dead weight. It was a transitional year. The oline was crappy, where the year before it was still pretty good. Josh had basically no weapons and no protection.
-
Not really. While they spend the next decade looking for their QB, Wilson will have an ok career and then leave and be just a footnote in the history of their franchise.
-
They traded for a WR with an already existing cost controlled deal that was not close to top of the market. And then that WR became elite. He was not elite before joining the Bills. And they did pay him later, and that pretty much blew up in their faces. Teams like the Bills and the Chiefs moved on from the elite, top of the market receivers and have been making it work with guys they sign and draft who aren't top of the market guys. Because the top of the market for receivers is overvalued right now. Destroy him and set him up for failure like they always do. It's the Jets.
-
And he'll keep helping them get to 6 or 7 wins a season.
