Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million
BuffaloBillyG replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Playing in LA/SD all these years he always struck me as a guy that adapted to that culture of not really caring. And was still dominant for many of those years. Coming back to a football town in a close knit team...could rekindle him a bit too. I think he's gonna be motivated by the fans and city as well as just having a 1 year deal...he knows he has to be on the field producing for next off-season if he wants to get paid. I think it's a perfect storm to see the best version of Bosa this year. He's gonna be a dang beast. -
And that should (thankfully) end the Rasul Douglas experience here. Dane plus a rookie or two is about as good as we were likely to get in this spot IMO.

Would have been mine too, but for Dorothy.

I'll bet he's waiting to announce it on his next Pat McAfee show appearance. Dolphins would have been wise to move for a better backup than the MILF Hunter. Not saying Rodgers would have taken that role. But Russ Wilson just may have. Russ moon balls to Hill and Waddle would have been an issue if/when Tua misses time.

Amari was a good vet that helped out. Maybe not to the degree that was expected. But it did open things up for others which is what LAST YEARS team needed. This years team needs, IMO, a bit of speed. If we are going to reel in an older vet (which I'm not convinced they will), I'd maybe kick the tires on Brandin Cooks to add some field stretching abilities rather than Cooper.

I'd be ok with having him back but it would have to be at the right price if the draft board plays out in a way that doesn't net is a good day 1 or 2 WR. But I would wait until after the draft. There's still a chance that some team gets desperate and gives him a nice payday on a 1 or 2 year deal that would qualify for the comp pick formula and lessen the blow on spending that pick acquiring him.
-
I'd be shocked if he even makes it to camp. Seems like a place holder for a camp body if they can't grab a WR in the draft and none of note get cut. I'm much more eager to see how Shavers does this TC.

Seeing the Saints are in on Kupp. If they get him I wonder if they would make Olave available.

Ever found his footing and ultimately fell flat in his face. Very accurate.

Pry Cousins from Atlanta?

Wedding Gift Ideas for Josh and Hailee
BuffaloBillyG replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh I promise you around the wedding someone on X will start a "Everyone donate $17 to the kids hospital" movement. Be it Del or the self proclaimed "Babes".... someone will -
Houston sure likes the Bills FA DL discards

The Bills will likely have him in on an official visit as her wouldn't count against the "30" due to him being a local player. There's a possibility he slips through the cracks as a non Combine invite and if so I would bring him to Rookie Camp and have him try out for sure. The Buffalo Joe career path so to speak.

Wedding Gift Ideas for Josh and Hailee

Any answer here other than a one year subscription to the Jelly of the Month Club is wrong. It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year -
Or just put him on my diet. I have no issues gaining 15lbs almost on command these days.

No way of knowing for sure, but my hunch based on the way Beane worked in the past is that he has several offers sent out and the first to call and take the deal is here. I would bet these are to guys he's familiar with and know the system (Douglas, Jackson and White). My guess is the hold up is they are small one year deals in which I can see all 3 waiting a bit to take the offer and to wait and see if something better comes in once the CB market dries up a bit Then couple the vet that comes in with Benford while still taking a CB day 1/day 2 to put in the mix.
-
Maybe the plan is to have him put in 10-15lbs this off-season.

I couldn't care less about his social media activity. Yes he's picked up some longer TDs. And they were exciting and fun. But a TD after 4 10 yard runs counts up the same as they do after a 40 yard run. I'm saying to go from 4 career rushing TDs to 16 in one season isn't likely sustainable. His rushing/touches reflect a back more on the Rico Dowdle level ..not an elite back. The market said today his market for a back of that level is less than half what he's hunting for. That's not smart business if you're the Bills. He's had 1 season with the high TDs. And the year before that he had fumble issues. How quick some are to forget. Has he transformed into a new player? I would be hesitant to pay him right now. Maybe add some incentives for this year, sure. But I want to see if the big plays, the YDs and the lack of fumbles are him taking steps forward or a one year flash. Players flash for a year all the time. Remember Peyton Hillis? Players post a fluke absurd stat line every so often. Raheem Mostert out up an almost identical season the year before this and is out of a job. It happens. Make him prove it wasn't a fluke this year and pay (still not $15M) the following year.

Beane has said a few times that the amount we see online is often VASTLY different than what there are actually working with. He's said they often have the actual amount that includes already done yet not submitted restructures, pay cuts etc that are sitting on his desk done, yet not submitted until they need to be. Whatever we think we know...we really do not.

Guy was an absolute BEAST in his prime.

Before this year Cook had four career rushing TDs. He exploded this year with 16 rushing TDs in season. I think some (but not most) of that was due to them holding Allen back from actual rushing plays inside the 10 (except push plays) due to Josh breaking his hand week 1. I expect some regression to the means there. This year rushing Rico Dowdle had 1079 yards and 2 TDs. On 235 carries. He just signed a 1 year deal worth up to $6.25M. Cook had 1009 yards and the bump to 16 TDs. On 207 carries. The year before Cook had 1122 yards on 237 carries with 2 rushing TDs Sorry but a one year spike in TDs isn't worth $9M dollars a year extra. If Cook wasn't there either Josh or Davis could have picked up many of those short TD runs. A small pay bump over Dowdle? Sure. Maybe. But $15M AAV? The market itself says he isn't worth that.

Wouldn't surprise me for whoever doesn't get Wilson or Rodgers to try and pry Cousins from Atlanta.
