  1. Wow. A bargain considering Peyton's $99M over 7 years and a $34M signing bonus. And say what you want about Brady's abilities, but he's the one with the rings....
  2. Warner Bros. told someone who enquired about this that they have "put it in their vault" (a la Disney). Maybe they're going to do a special Richard Pryor package or something in the future.... "How's it hanging?" was the only line I remember.
  3. DT was paralyzed and died 16 days after being thrown from his SUV. Another person not wearing a seatbelt also died. The one person in the passenger seat who was wearing their seatbelt walked away from the crash. A jury rejected that his death was a direct result of the rollover, proving that 12 people still have common sense.
  4. There's a reason that linemen wear the big, bulky ones like that. And they don't prevent injuries, especially when it's 'Kill the Man With the Ball.' Drew wore the one that looked like the monster of Frankenstein's neck w/ the metal phlanges, on both knees. We all know his biggest weakness. Like Corp wrote, Willis will do what he does, and I highly doubt it's with something that looks like a RoboCop costume. Apparently, Willis agrees.
  5. "God protects drunks and fools."
  6. I can appreciate Walt Whitman writing "I Can Hear America Singing" where he extols the importance of every honest job in America. Sorry, EIL, Hillary Clinton wasn't hanging out at Walden Pond. And I also don't see it as an accident or like Lott's brain fart. Just like when Bill went to Jesse Jackson's rally and called out "Sista Solja" for her lyrics (well, I don't blame Bill for this, she, JJ and his Rainbow-Push group that he uses to steal millions from blacks in this country suck). He then started talking about welfare reform (again, not that I disagreed with it). He was pandering to a certain element of the right, to get rightists to say "Hey, he's not a liberal liberal. I could possibly vote for him." Purely a political move, just as Bill's hanging out w/ the Republicans is. As I've said before, the Clintons are no friends of the Democrats, especially not the part that is conservative Democrat which is the future of the party. The Clintons take from among some of the worst ideas both parties have to offer.
  7. I think they're worn more for sympathy / cop-out than anything else. I don't think Willis needs to jump up and down, hands waving in the air, to remind people that he's had a knee injury. They keep the knee warm, yeah, but they're also sweaty and itchy. But the inner workings of the knee will do what they do regardless of whether it's in a quarter-inch neoprene lining.
  8. Meanwhile, a girl in R.I. is up for 10-15 years, (last I heard) of hard time for hitting an elderly woman while impaired. The trial is a formality. Ain't it great to be a celebrity? No matter how much coke you snort, no matter how many times you have sex with prostitutes, no matter how many times you rape women, kill someone or molest little boys, there will be people, especially judges it seems, who will give you one more last chance.
  9. The equipment manager has a side job as a pimp? Is it like a true b----slap? Or our very own Jim Kelly, who used to make himself throw up before each game. A kid on our track team would always drop a deuce exactly ten minutes before he ran. This is a guy who voluntarily goes on a field to take and deliver blows that would leave many of us limping or making a visit to the hospital. There's a measure of crazy for anyone who'll do that. Whatever it takes, man.... Whatever it takes.
  10. I don't know that it reduces politics, just that it makes it more fractured. Would think it creates more scenarios of 'if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours,' making and breaking alliances like Survivor. And here, it would likely result in more pork barrel spending than we already have. Re-election largely depends on what/how much a member of congress brings back to their district in federal funds. Shouldn't be like that, but it is. You take any third party --- the Greens, Libertarians, Constitutionals, etc. --- and they will become as wrapped up in it as the Dems and Reps, if not more b/c they would have such a small bloc and sh-- for leverage. Blair's seat is pretty hot. Word is going around that he might not finish his term, maybe 2 years, and will hand the reigns to his finance minister. Labor paid dearly.
  11. Link Thingy. Probably not a sexual harrassment defense tho....
  12. You do know that site is a spoof....
  13. So Locke = Hassam? The unwilling/unsure participant? I don't know about that. The island picked Locke for a reason --- b/c he has hatred that's long been smoldering. He called the kidney donor scar a "war wound" and I got the sense it wasn't metaphor. He doesn't want to leave the island that is his survivalist paradise. And he knows what will happen when he leaves or when the island is done with him -- no more legs. He's shown he'll kill and lie to prevent rescue. To me, that makes him the evil character.
  14. Same here. That scene had me . I think the look may have been more a reaction to the callousness/grossness of Locke wringing out Boone's blood from his shirt. I think people are giving Walt too much credit for his "abilities." As Brian said, and the bird and polar bear scenes showed, "Things happen when he's around." Which is a far different thing from Walt or his conscious actually making those specific things happen. I get a reading more like, trouble follows him around. Just a question for the person who said Sayid's backstory paralelled the island.... How? In one he is more or less forced by the CIA to befriend the enemy, Hassam, and the guy shot himself; on the island, Shannon forces him (in a Honey-Do list way) to befriend the suspected enemy (Locke) and Sayid ends up having to tackle Shannon (and as stated later, that blew his chances w/ her). At best, the ep was incomplete in tying the story together. And I think it's more apparent than ever that Locke is evil.
  15. Anyone find it weird how Shannon sounds so petulant/nonchalant when she asks Sayid to off Locke? And I mean her tone of voice more than the words. "He killed my brother, can you do something about that?"
  16. Usually when there's discounts of this sort, the guy isn't on the team the next year.
  17. A few places are reporting discrepancies in the Closed Captioning, as you mentioned before. This clip seemed to clear any question of what was said in response. Sounds like you don't believe it, which is entirely w/in rights. I choose to take it as the given, esp. w/ some other info on future casting. Another thing to note from Deux en Machina: The shard of metal that went about 4 inches deep into Locke's leg doesn't seem to affect him any. He pricks his foot, puts them close to the fire.... Nothing. No pain. That's another reason why I think Locke may be "Unbreakable" (thanks to the island) and why the preview that's showing him get shot is moot for surprise, b/c he's not going to die.
  18. My mother always taught me to share. 2005 Buffalo Bills Schedule.
  19. Or the girl looking like Mama Cass. Or a case of "Dude's a lady!!!!" / "She's a man, baby!!"
  20. TD and MM taking full advantage of the rules change. Imagine that! And I've always wondered: What color do Smurfs turn when they hold their breath?
  21. I've heard that's only good insofar as it makes vomit aftertaste taste like banana.
  22. Why is the media being blamed for following a story that is newsworthy? Or should all stories about (possible) abduction be censored? Shoot the messenger, I guess. The woman faked her abduction! She cut her own hair off at the scene to somehow (a weird somehow, mind you) make people think she was kidnapped. She didn't just take off for a few days. Vera Wang wedding dress: $5,000. Fiskers Scissors: $2. Setting off a nationwide manhunt, employing local, state and federal agencies all just so you don't have to see the look on your fiance's face when you tell him you're 'Just Not That Into Him,' and getting off Scot free b/c you're a pretty, wide-eyed suburban white girl: Priceless.
  23. He changed his facemask and went to the more open Jim Kelly-style mask. Used to have the one with three vertical bars and a slim field of view piece that's usually worn by FBs or power RBs. I tried one once and it really segments your view. You know it's the offseason when this seems to be the biggest news of the week....

  25. Kinda got that feeling from the first, and the Georgia-to-New Mexico trek in three days was a little weird (doesn't it take like 5 days to drive that? And that's if you're not trying to fly under the radar). Guess that she saw all the media picking up on the story and figured she couldn't escape it. Classic passive-aggressive woman. It's amazing the lengths chicks go to like this. Can't just tell fiance to his face that she doesn't want to marry him. The sh-- of it is that if she weren't found, the husband would've had a reputation just slightly better than OJ or Peterson. How much tax-payer-funded manpower was spent on this crap? She should be charged with something, and it won't be nearly enough.
